Dina DeMille may run the nicest Bed and Breakfast in Red Deer, Texas, but she caters to a very particular kind of guest… the kind that no one on Earth is supposed to know about. Guests like a former intergalactic tyrant with an impressive bounty on her head, the Lord Marshal of a powerful vampire clan, and a displaced-and-superhot werewolf; so don’t stand too close, or you may be collateral damage.
But what passes for Dina’s normal life is about to be thrown into chaos. First, she must rescue her long-distant older sister, Maud, who’s been exiled with her family to a planet that functions as the most lawless penal colony since Botany Bay. Then she agrees to help a guest whose last chance at saving his civilization could bring death and disaster to all Dina holds dear. Now Gertrude Hunt is under siege by a clan of assassins. To keep her guests safe and to find her missing parents, Dina will risk everything, even if she has to pay the ultimate price. Though Sean may have something to say about that!
The Innkeeper Chronicles is a different sort of series by my favorite, favorite author. This series is posted first online in a somewhat weekly serial, for FREE, until publication. One Fell Sweep is the first one I managed to read along; I tend to prefer to read it all together, which I did with the ARC. Ilona Andrews NEVER disappoints. All their series, every book is so well-written, with such interesting world-building, characters who become real to me, and stories which take control of my emotions.
This is intellectually satisfying with the great world-building, where we continue to learn about how things work. There is also the mystery or current dilemma facing our characters. One Fell Sweep added new creatures, new characters and very interesting information on vampires and innkeepers. Our favorite characters, plus new loved ones are here. Helen, Maud and the Hiru, and yes, the Ku, all hold places in my heart now.
I’ve always been half in love with Arland, especially when he’s drinking coffee. *snickers* This time we really get to know more about him, but we also see much, much more of Sean. Finally, there is more of a sense of who he is. Despite some difficult issues and dire situations happening, I found myself laughing multiple times. There were also tears and great joy providing emotional satisfaction.
What else is there to say? It’s amazing. The series is 5 stars throughout. These are only ebooks I have with some graphics which is fun. FYI: There are a few more details in the book which I don’t remember being in the online serial. Highly recommended.

I so love this series. Oh, well really, I love this author pair. Everything they write is an auto-buy for me. I’m waiting for the audio for this one. I can’t wait to tackle it. 🙂
melanie – they are the best. I auto-buy everything, including this, even when I get the ARC. I have not moved into audio for them yet, even tho I understand it’s amazing. I have purchased Magic Bites on audio. I also just listened to Burn for Me on audio in preparation for reading White Hot. I have the White HOT ARC but I’m waiting until Jan 1 since I joined a 2017 new release challenge which starts then. Sigh. Waiting impatiently.
Thanks for the comments and always supporting. Anne
I grabbed the ebook because it will be a while for the audio so I’ll just have to grab it later. LOL
