       Clean Out Your Electronic Reads

I am always excited for another COYER Challenge.  This is about reading the stuff you already have and talking to book friends.  Books and book people – what could be better!  This is my favorite challenge because the group just has fun people.  I think it is easier for them to chat since the duration is a few months rather than a whole year like some other challenges.   The COYER BSBB will run June 9-August 31.    I’ve  copied the details from the COYER page:

The Basics

Let’s start with the basic rules as always, and then we’ll get to the fun Birthday Goodies!

  • The challenge begins June 9th (which happens to Berls’s Birthday!!) at 12am EST and ends August 31st at 11:59pm EST. The review linky and giveaway widgets will remain open until September 1st, 11:59 PM EST.
  • You must create a sign-up post anytime between now and July 9th on blog, Goodreads, Facebook, Google+, etc indicating your clean up goal (see below for details). Link your sign-up to the linky below.
  • It’s Summer and you know what that means! Anything you read goes! It can be any format, any price, obtained from any LEGAL location. Library? Yep! Borrowed? Yep! KU? Yep? $500? Yep (but are you crazy?)!
  • Link your reviews to the linky that will be provided on the Kick-off Post.
  • There will be two grand prize winners – $10 gift card – one for the linky review list and one for Birthday Bash Goodies.

Those are the basics, and if that’s all you do, you’ll be fine! But you know, they have to throw in more fun than that! See their post for all the Birthday Bash Goodies!

There are a list of 10 different Birthday Goodies which are short versions of all the many different things done different years: The Strict, The List, The Twist,  commenting on review posts.  5 different read-athons, a scavenger hunt, 3 separate Mini-Challenges, Social Media games and Twitter parties, BINGO cards, and more.  I’m going to have to make a multi-dimensional spreadsheet to figure it out and track it!

If you are interested in learning more, or signing up, clink the link below to go to the COYER site to

Goody #1.  I’m going to go for the Deep Clean with more than 20 books.  I always link mine to a Goodreads shelf to make it easy to see what I have read (or plan to read).

Goody #3, I can search my Kindle for Fairy tales, Christmas, and oldest dates for those read-athons.  I’m not sure of the easiest way to find novellas since I didn’t crate a shelf for that in Goodreads.

Goody #4,  I’m hosting a Mini-challenge which connects with Thrifty Thursday where I’ll be giving away and Amazon Gift Card.

Goody #6 & 7 – I’m sure I will comment on facebook and try to join the Twitter parties.  I will mark the Bingo but I am not sure I will read that diversely. And I read lots of genres!

Goody #8 – I must do Hurricane Berls.

Goody #9 – I’ll definitely be doing the list of 15 and reading at least 10. I have my list!

  1. Down Deep by Kimberly Kincaid
  2. Licks by Kelly Siskind  (audio)
  3. The Wild Dead by Carrie Vaughn
  4. Kill the Farm Boy by Kevin Hearne, Delilah S. Dawson
  5. Deep Cover by Scarlett Cole
  6. Stars Uncharted by SK Dunstall
  7. Darkest Night by Megan Erickson
  8. Wild Hunger by Chloe Neill
  9. A Secret Adversary by Agatha Christie
  10. Calico Palace by Gwen Bristow (audio)
  11. The Storm by Elizabeth Hunter
  12. Double Dare by Melissa Blue
  13. The Start of Something Good by Jennifer Probst  (audio)
  14. Iron and Magic by Ilona Andrews
  15. Magic Triumphs by Ilona Andrews

We will see if I figure out anything else for the other goodies. It’s great to be back with the great COYER people.

  1. Good luck with your COYER challenge! I’m in for too many others at the moment to take part, but it sounds like I’m going to miss a lot of fun

  2. OK I realized today that I need to take Iron and Magic by Ilona Andrews off this list and change it to Double Blind by Iris Johansen. I just got the Iron and Magic eARC and I’m not waiting to June 9 to read it. I may not wait 15 minutes!

And if I get a Magic Triumphs eARC before June 9 same applies. I will need to change it. Because I won’t wait – AT ALL – to read it.
