Exit Strategy continued in the tradition of the rest of the Murderbot Diaries series having me laughing in the first few moment. The truth can be funny, especially when stated in such a blunt, factual way. Murderbot is still trying to figure out humans. His own observations and experiences plus the episodes of Sanctuary Moon provide diverse fodder for his impressions.
He is headed back to Dr. Mensah with information to help her. Naturally, she is in danger. Of course, both Murderbot and some of her team go in to save her in spite of the danger to themselves. I continue to love the stream of consciousness from Murderbot on what is happening. I still enjoy the technology aspects.
I mentioned, in a previous review, how I thought his plans reminded me of the A-Team style of complete confidence but I am pretty sure he got the modus operandi from his entertainment media. It’s so outrageous; it’s unexpected. Murderbot’s tactical skills and experience as a SECUnit plus a little help from his friends, manages to just work in the direst of circumstances.
I highly recommend this entire series for its fun action, technology and precious look at human behavior. 5 stars all the way!

I finally have this complete series on audio. I pre-ordered this one and listened to it the day it arrived, finishing it on release day. I happily listened at my usual 1.25 speed. The delivery of Murderbot’s thoughts was well accomplished to provide the humor I loved so much. I’m sure I’ll be re-listening to Kevin Free’s amazing performance again.

Kevin R. Free has appeared on national television in commercials and on NBC’s Law & Order and Law & Order: SVU. New York audiences have seen Mr. Free Off-Broadway, creating the role of Memphis in From My Hometown both for Amas Musical Theatre and at the Gramercy Theatre, for which he was nominated for an Audelco Award. I read all types of books but my favorites are urban fantasy and romantic suspense.I like some romance and some action / adventure / mystery in everything.I like sex in my books but please, only between TWO people.Intimate conversation is equally important to the sex in a book.It lets me see the characters.The other thing I enjoy is humor.
