When his boyfriend is murdered, Erick Lee makes it his life's mission to hunt down the killer. The question is, how far is he willing to go to catch him?

Erick has been asked to team up by a dangerously captivating hitman who has reasons of his own to want this man dead. But can he trust another killer? And do two wrongs ever make a right?

Everett "Tarr" Hawk isn't just some lethal hitman. He has his own code of honor. With Erick and Tarr facing a common enemy, it's only by combining forces that they'll survive. But Tarr's code doesn't include a fierce attraction for someone he's sworn to defend with his life. Because in Tarr's world, every night presents a new danger . . . and listening to his own heart could get them both killed.

This Wired & Dangerous series is a setting with hackers, full of suspense because the bad guys have no conscience about murdering people. For me, I would prefer a bit more of the technical details on their skills. Each book is a romance and since people are often hiding from the current threat, there isn’t much of a team feeling or the connection of friends or family.

The Final Day is a male/male romance and it focuses very much on their feelings about the work they do and feelings Erick and Tarr have about each other.  Everything feels a bit too much to be real.  Erick seems to have some standard responses to certain things which became cliche to me as he reiterated them.

I don’t read much m/m but this was an enjoyable sidetrack with some more suspenseful action. As a novella, it doesn’t have as much character development as a full length book.  It also did not have anything further on the overall arc of the Big Bad still out there, so I hope we continue there in the future.

About Megan Erickson

Megan Erickson is a USA Today bestselling author of romance that sizzles. Her books have a touch of nerd, a dash of humor, and always have a happily ever after. A former journalist, she switched to fiction when she decided she likes writing her own endings better.

She lives in Pennsylvania with her very own nerdy husband and two kids. Although rather fun-sized, she’s been told she has a full-sized personality. When Megan isn’t writing, she’s either lounging with her two cats named after John Hughes characters or… thinking about writing.

  1. Ah, bummer that the novella was rather ho-hum in ways and didn’t seem to advance the suspense line of the series. Hopefully the next one will be better.
