How to lose an alien in fourteen days.

Matchmaker Jessie Hancock has a perfect record helping others find their Mr. or Ms. Right through the Intergalactic Dating Agency until Caid arrives. The sinfully handsome, smooth-talking alien is everything she’s dreamed of—but can’t have. Even if he was interested in a curvy, freckle-faced redheaded wallflower, it’s forbidden for employees to date clients, so she works hard to find him a woman. But when none of the dates meets with his approval, her boss gives her an ultimatum—find Caid a match or else! With her heart breaking and her job on the line, she launches a plan to introduce Caid to a woman he’ll find irresistible.

The instant Caid from planet Dakon lays eyes on Jessie with the beautiful orange hair, he knows the Fates have chosen her for him. To get closer to her, he goes along with her attempts to “match” him with someone else while doing his best to charm her and convince her they’re meant for each other. Despite his efforts, she continues to insist she can’t be his mate. Now time is running out, and if he can’t up his game, he’ll lose her forever.

I loved going back into this world Cara Bristol has created with Dakonian Alien Mail Order Brides. In this series, there are Dakoian, alien men that are big and have horns, come to Earth in order to find a mate. In this story, we have Caid, who came to Earth looking for his mate. However, there’s a small problem. His mate is Jessie, a matchmaker for the Intergalactic Dating Agency and is forbidden to fraternize with the clients.

Caid gets extremely frustrated that his flirtatious ways are having no effect on Jessie. He even found a book to help him out, Best of the Worst: 1001 Pickup Lines to Nail a Chick. He calls it “his study guide”. He even had to learn to read in order to read this book, which he found at an antique store. He arrived with an implant imbedded into his ear to help him translate the language, but that doesn’t help him read in English.

“Of course, I’m here, doll,” I said, using one of the suggested endearments from my study guide. Since she wore uncomfortable-looking footwear and seemed a little breathless, this seemed like a perfect opportunity to try a recommended icebreaker. “Are your legs tired? Because you can sit on my face and rest.”

Jessie does have feelings for Caid, but loves her job. Her job is on the line if she can’t find a match for Caid. Her boss gives more and more demands and does threaten Jessie’s job if she can’t find Caid a match and soon.

This series continues to be a fun science fiction romance series. I’ve really enjoyed every book I’ve read so far. Each book can be read as a stand alone, though characters from previous books do have some small cameos in the later books. At the time of this posting, you can get the third book in a sister series, Alien Mate, free on Amazon. So check out Alien Intention, not in the same series, but has Earth women going to Dakon to be matched with Dakoian men.

  1. I laughed so hard when Caid through out those cheesy pick-up lines to her from that book. 🙂 This was a cute series and I’m glad she’s going to take it back to Dakon for the next book.

      I can see that. 🙂

His pick up lines were cheesy in the best way possible. The rest of the story, really isn’t cheesy at all. It is a sweet sci-fi romance. I’ve really enjoyed this series (and the sister series, Alien Mate). Thanks for stopping by.
