Levels:
- Dewey Decimal: Read 12 books
- Thrifty Reader: Read 24 books
- Overdrive Junkie: Read 36 books
- Library Addict: Read 48 books
- Library Card on Fire: Read 60+ books
This is my second year in the Library Love Challenge. My goal is 48 books, the Library Addict level. I read and listen to quite a few but don’t always review them all here on the blog. It was reduced in number by my reviewing more new release audiobooks and a trial of Kindle Unlimited. I have a total of 67, unless I read anything more today.
I use my library extensively for all formats. I take the opportunity to read or listen to earlier books in a series when I am catching up, to try out new series, or for non-fiction research. I do the shortest reviews and the least reviews on the blog for this challenge. So while I recorded the challenge on the blog, it wasn’t very accurate.

Very nice job on using your library and look at the savings. Fabulous!!!
Thanks Angela! I really appreciate your hosting. I love this challenge because I LOVE my libraries. I have to go update for December links this afternoon. The audiobooks make a huge difference this year because they are much more expensive to purchase unless they are an Audible daily deal.
Ya, those audiobooks are expensive unless they are on sale. Keep up the library love!
Wowsers! You did great and it is fantastic to see how much your sixty-odd books saved you in cash. I like that you were able to do research reading and pleasure reading.
I did this one for the first time this year. I’ve finally started getting into the habit of checking my library first before I reach for a new book. I need to get better at actively looking for new to me authors, narrators, and books at the library now.
Every single Audible daily deal I want I check the library first. Especially if it is an unknown author or narrator. Every single time. It has saved me a lot. And also things I see others review or if I am trying to catch up on a series. The library is awesome!
You did awesome with this challenge. And I love how you shared the amount of money you saved! I need to use my library like I used to. Have a Happy New Year!
I LOVE the library – it’s the best. I do the savings $ twice a year, at the end of June and at the end of December.
I also enjoyed seeing the amount that you saved from the library! You blew the challenge out of the water in 2018! Are you joining in 2019?
Oh yes. I couldn’t live without my library! It’s so weird with all the challenge bars disappearing on the right sidebar until I actually publish a review which qualifies for it, they won’t show up.
You did great with this challenge! It is wonderful to see how much your library saved you last year.
Thank you! I try to maximize my impact by getting new release audiobooks from the library so it counts for all challenges!
Wow, seems like you had a great reading year! I would like to use my library more but their selection is so limited and I don’t want to spend money to borrow it from another library. I try to request books but they usually get rejected because they do not fit into the collection… I think this is just an excuse.
