The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received.
Don’t forget to look at my giveaways on the right sidebar.
Read-along Giveaway:
This giveaway is for the entire event, with things to enter each month. Tantor is also supporting me by giving away digital codes for all 10 audiobooks in the series!
I’m off to a smashing start in January 2019 on my challenges. I’ve read 32 books (Goodreads challenge), 17 audiobooks. 17 for Beat the Backlist, 12 New Releases, 23 for COYER and just 10 library books because I’m using KU and AR while I have them. I’m working this weekend on getting everything linked up to all the challenges. The next few weeks are going to be all about the romance with Valentine’s Day coming up.
It’s been the week of physical therapy. I managed to go to my first Water class at YMCA which went well, and a yoga class. My daughter has been doing really well using the walker. She also continues her tradition of anxiety about her first chapter test and then got a 100! My Mom is doing better than expected and is a PT rock star. By Thursday, she had her stuff all packed and wanted to go home. My brother talked her out of it though.
We had a couple cold days but not as bad as the Midwest. I was happy to have raked leaves on Sunday when it was 50, and have nothing scheduled so we could stay home on Thursday, the coldest day. Now it’s going to be 60-70 (about 20C) for the next week. YAY! That’s pretty much perfect. I didn’t get far with knitting or sewing this week, though.
Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality. These are the exciting ARCs I received this week:
Triumphant Nice and Easy Blood Apprentice
Thank you so much AceRoc Books, SocialButterflyPR, Elizabeth Hunter, and Simon & Schuster. Another great mix with scifi, contemporary romance, urban fantasy and mystery/thriller.
The Obsession The Andromeda Strain
So I got these at the Audible sale since they did not have the audios at my library. I could have requested them to purchase them I guess but I chose to buy these. The Tale of Two Cities was only $0.99 and it’s Simon Vance! Dickens is an absolute favorite of mine.
Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.
I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.
I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.
If you like this and want to see me do the Sunday post, as often as I can manage, leave me a comment and let me know.

That sounds like an all around good week for you and your family getting back to a good place in your health. Way to go on the challenges. I feel like I’m sitting pretty with mine, too. It is supposed to be in the 40’s today and even warmer during the week so I can’t wait to get outside for a bit longer than dashing from my car to a building. 🙂
Nice finds for your audible sale and the freebies. I still need to read that Deborah Harkness series.
Have a good week, Anne!
Thank you. It’s going to be in the 70s, the forecast is even warmer when I looked at it this morning. I love 60-70. This weather means more grilling and salads which I love. I enjoy salad but not so much when it is freezing; I want hot food then.
I have read 2 of the 3 All Souls and fear I would need to reread the first 2 to handle the third. I remember them as rich in details. Well not this month anyway. I’m sure you are doing great on your challenges, you read more than me. Have a great week and stay comfy.
Enjoy your books and glad things are going well.
I’m only reading romance this month myself. Happy week!
Thank you! Romance is both a COYER Read-athon and apropos for Valentine’s Day. I will have to mix in some thriller murders to get through them I think. lol I hope you find some great reads and have a good week!
Swimming sounds great right now. Can’t wait for spring and pool weather here. It’s going to be around 70 here for most of the week. I feel for those who are still freezing. Congrats to your daughter on her test and good to hear your mother is doing so well.
The swimming was good and especially since I could wear flip-flops. I put on my suit at home and then go swim. After I take off my suit, put on undies and outer clothes. Except today I did not bring a shirt. Oops. Good thing I wore a jacket and wasn’t stopping anywhere on the way home. lol Have a great week.
So glad to hear your mom is feeling better.
Glad your daughter got 100. I think everyone tends to worry before something as big as that. I know I do 🙂
It was FREEZING here but I am looking forward to the warmer weather this week. I think I might be ready for spring.
Have a great week, Anne! Happy Reading! ox
We all just have to keep doing the PT work. It’s going to be like spring this week here.
I hope you find an amazing book this week!
I loved all three of those Nora Roberts’ suspense books. I hope you do, too.
Thanks for sharing your week, and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
Thank you. I’ve enjoyed everything else of hers and it’s a genre I love so I felt pretty safe buying them. It’s always good to have others good opinions. I do tend to check Goodreads to see how others felt also when I plan to buy something, or see if I can get it at the library.
I’ll be over later to enjoy your food for the week since I’m trying to toe the line on my food right now. Happy reading!
32 books is awesome! It was super cold here, too, although I wasn’t quite in the vortex area. Stay warm and happy reading!
Thank you; I’m sure I won’t be able to continue like that but when you are inside more it isn’t too hard, or even with audiobooks as you do all your daily running around.
I’m enjoying a warmer week already. Here’s to amazing books this week!
I’m glad to hear that about all the health things are looking better. We got hit hard with cold weather, but not as bad as Chicago. Sounds you’re doing great on your reading. I’m already 2 books behind on my GR challenge. Oh well, I will probably get caught up soon. I hope you have a great week.

yes, it’s get up and move! I think when my daughter has her college class instead of sitting in the car knitting and listening to audiobooks I think I might have to have at least one day a week where I put in the earbuds and walk the whole time.
I had a great month but it isn’t always like that, usually it’s only a few books a week. But I’m trying to get my mileage from my KU and AR deals. Have a great week and hopefully a warmer one.
Anne you are a reading machine!!!!! Now I am happy to hear all the positive news about your health, your daughter and your mom! Let’s hope everything gets better and better!
Well it’s all that waiting in line or at classes or appointments, running errands, driving her all over, cooking, folding laundry, sewing, knitting, making blog post shells. I have fully integrated audiobooks which allows me to really read more. And I really love some of those narrators. But it won’t always be like this month.
Yes we all need to keep moving. I need to walk while listening when she is in class instead of sitting in the car listening. I hope you have a week that’s better with amazing reads.
Wow. 32 is an amazing amount of books.
There were just so many things I really wanted to read. Audiobooks helped me do all my usual stuff at the same time.
Oh my gosh you got so much read this month! Way to go! We had 3 days off school due to the crazy cold. I was thrilled!! Have a great week!
yes, those cold days (not as cold as OH or MN) were great for staying home and reading, or listening to audiobooks while sewing or making soup. Have some great reading this week!
Glad the big freeze wasn’t so bad for you and that you had a pretty good week!
32 books is an amazing amount for one month! I topped out at 8 and 3 were teenie kids books, lol.
I have been in a slump though so I’m not hitting myself with a stick over it and now the slump is ending, I’m excited for a very bookish February!
Thank you! I didn’t plan to read so many, usually only about 15-20 but I was on a roll fitting audiobooks into my daily tasks. I hope you have a great week and month and find some amazing books!
You picked up some nice audiobooks. Did you grab them during the sale? Hope your week is good. Happy Reading!
Yes the audible sale. And now they have another one! It’s a 2-1 so I’m looking at what I might want which I can’t get at the library. Thanks for visiting Angela!
Ya more audios on sale. ^_^
You had a great reading month in January! Good luck with your challenges! I’m trying to get back to audiobooks. We’ll see how far I get. Have a great week!
Yes it was a good month. So many great things to read. I hope you are able to fit in audio as easily as I have at times. Happy reading!
I am so happy to hear that your mom and daughter are both doing so well. Congrats to your daughter for acing that test! You had such a good reading month in January! Nice selection of new reads. I hope you have a great week and enjoy them all.
Thank you. It’s a daily struggle to do everything, fit it in as you well know. I hope you get some rest this week and some time to enjoy some reads.
32 books is AMAZING. And i thought i was rocking it with my 12! lol Hope you have a great week!
It was an especially good month. They aren’t all like this. Plus I had some amazing books I just HAD to read. I hope you are having a great week also!
You are rocking your reading challenges, Anne! Bravo! I only read 17 books last month and that’s including my audio books. Glad to hear PT is going well. Didn’t know both you and your daughter and your mom are going through it. Sounds like you’re all doing well with it, though. I got a few books from that Audible sale as well, and I think there’s a 2 for 1 sale going on right now, but I haven’t looked at the selection yet. They always get me, lol! Have a great week and happy reading! 🙂
Thanks. I had so many things I wanted to read / listen. Yes there’s a new sale already but I kind of love that. I’m careful to only buy if I can’t it get at the library. I hope your week is great and you find some wonderful reads.
You read some amazing books for Jan. I bet you’ll have just as many or more for Feb. GO you! Have a great week!
Mary
I did have a very high number of 5 heart reads. And I just reread Penny Reid’s Elements of Chemistry to prep for Elements of Physics and they are just all 5 hearts. I love them. More romance this month with Valentine’s Day so I think it’s a bit harder to get 5 hearts since I find they don’t always have enough plot for me. But that’s a generalization because the ones I read are usually very good. Have a great week!
I’ve also been thinking of starting physical therapy cause I’m having neck and shoulder problems. But I haven’t found a good specialist yet.
Wishing you a good week 🙂
Well I don’t know your specific issues but I have been able to do a lot with occasional chiropractic and massage. I also am finding my back is stronger and less pain with doing the swim and yoga classes. Movement is important and helps lessen stress. It depends on how severe your problem is and one can’t go beserker on it, you have to ease into a program. For me, I do not see an actual physical therapist. For my daughter, she started August 2017 at 3 times a week with an actual physical therapist, now once a week. My Mom in rehab after hip surgery, has daily stuff both PT and occupational therapy. Each one is different.
Wow! What a great January! Glad things are going well for your girl, you, and your mom!
Yes we have been steadily working to get things where they need to be. In the meantime, I read or listen while working on pretty much everything.
Wow! You really crushed the January reads! I wish we had a YMCA w/pool closer to us. I’d love to partake in some classes. We have a YMCA Express (no pool) just down the road, but it’s kinda small. 🙁 I managed to get the backpack blower out today and take care of the lingering pesky leaves. Yay!
Every weekend i used to pay a visit this site, because i want enjoyment, as this this web site conations
really nice funny information too.
