A hot firefighter who just wants to take care of her and her little boy? Sign her up.

Moving in with him and his little girl who already has a huge chunk of her heart? Very nice.

Roommates with benefits? Yes, please.

Convincing this take-charge alpha to let her take care of him too? That’s not going to be as easy.

I’ve always enjoyed Erin Nicholas for her humor and characters with quirks or flaws as all real people have them. So I was happy to get the chance to review Nice and Easy.  It’s the third book in Boys in the Big Easy series which is set in New Orleans. However, I had not read any of the previous books.  I was able to get the prequel –  Easy Going (see below)  as a freebie and book one, – Going Down Easy as an audiobook in Kindle Unlimited.  Together, these are about one couple, Addison and Gabe.

The series is all about single parents and some of them start pairing up, since they become close through a single parents group and help each other.  I really enjoyed the connections and the humor of the group.  The children are a superb addition to each of these stories.

We don’t always get much of a balance in the lives of the parents though.  Parenting and parenting concerns are relayed because of the group and the children.  The couple has their relationship moments and sexy times.  There isn’t very much on their work lives however, which feels a little odd.  The overall win is the personal growth of the parents as they also deal with their issues, which is often why they are single parents.

About Erin Nicholas

Erin Nicholas is the author of sexy contemporary romances. Her stories have been described as toe-curling, enchanting, steamy and fun. She loves to write about reluctant heroes, imperfect heroines and happily ever afters. She lives in the Midwest with her husband who only wants to read the sex scenes in her books, her kids who will never read the sex scenes in her books, and family and friends who say they’re shocked by the sex scenes in her books (yeah, right!).

  1. Huh… interesting series premise with the single parent group being the center of it all. I’ve not tried any of her books yet. Thanks for sharing about this one, Anne!

    • I really enjoy her books overall. I like the Everyday Heroes series better but I also listened to it on audio which also is different. You could always try the freebie and see what you think. I believe the first of some of her other series have been free sometimes also.

    • Well just a little work related stuff but not very much, less than I expected. More like it says they leave or come home. But their emotional support and friends seem to center on the parents group rather than co-workers mostly. The stories are personal about the couple, friends and families.
