Gabriel is living in a nightmare. His sloppy mistake allowed rogue shifters to kidnap Parker, his best friend and partner. Unwilling to rest and plagued with memories of his twin brother who’d died in his arms, he pushes himself to the limits of endurance in his hunt to retrieve Parker.
Until the day she saves herself.
Parker thought that being secretly in love with her partner was the low point of her career. She was wrong. Forced to compete in shapeshifter cage fights, she commits an unspeakable act she can never undo. With her mind and body too bruised to resume her former job, she’s fighting to keep sane. Keeping away from overprotective Gabriel is even harder.
But their enemies are closing in, hurting shifters and humans alike. With so much to lose, their only solution will be to fight together, even if this brings up truths they’re not ready to face.
The paranormal romances in the Shift series, are fairly tightly connected so you will do better to read them in order to better understand the world, and know the characters. At the end of Truth or Bear, Parker has been kidnapped, definitely in trouble. Make Him Howl starts right there as the teams hunt for her.
The underlying plot is similar to the last book. Female is kidnapped and they need to find her. But Parker and Gabriel are different than Nik and Claire. Parker and Gabriel have been partners on their team for years. Now they have to deal with Parker’s trauma from her time in captivity and the fact she has been in love with Gabriel. Gabriel has some family issues and has to realize what he wants with Parker.
The politics are continuing to explode but the focus here is mostly on the couple and their relationship. The battle aspects are solved almost too easily. I do really enjoy reading these. There are some great modern relationship issues and political issues involved.
This series, so far is in Kindle Unlimited. There’s sure to be more since the political battle is still bringing changes and there are more shifters who need mates.

Oh that’s an author I heard about but I haven’t tried her novels
Yes I reviewed the freebie prequel and the first two books in the series.
Nice review!
Thanks Angela! It’s a good series, one of the better pnr.
I love pnr romances like this series. Glad it’s a hit.
I’m enjoying it. It’s well worth a try.
I do enjoy this genre. I’ll be sure to keep in mind to read them in order.
Yes while each book has a couple, the overall political / cultural changes are better in order.
Love your review. I have a soft spot for shapeshifters. This series sounds great. Thanks Anne! ❤️❤️
Thank you! I’m really enjoying them. It is a new author but I think the writing is really good. Also they are in KU if you have it.
It sounds like you’ve found a series and an author you really like! I haven’t really gotten into the shifter romances yet. I read a few of Terry Spear’s wolf-shifter books and liked them, but for some reason, I just haven’t tried any others. I think it’s because a lot of them seem pretty dark, and that’s just not where I want to go when I’m reading romance.
I think what is different about this is women have quite a bit of skill and power. It’s not the alpha male dominance of most shifter type stories. That’s why I like it more. There is still fighting factions politically, so some dark.
I added these for the next time I do a Kindle Unlimited special.
I have a LARGE KU list, but I got a long term deal when there was a sale.
