The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly  @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received.

Stacking The Shelves is also a weekly meme hosted by  Tynga’s Reviews and Marlene from Reading Reality.  It’s all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!

Don’t forget to look at my giveaways on the right sidebar.   Giveaways for Series on Saturday and the Read-along copy of Veiled end Sunday at midnight.

Another week of packing / sorting / throwing and some medical appointments.  Tuesday we went to the new house to check if the seller had made agreed upon repairs. They had finished almost all of them. It was a good chance to take a look at things again.

Wednesday night was quilting and I had volunteered to bring Chicken Tortilla Soup.  We continued to work on a baby quilt for my niece’s girl. Friday I helped a friend move in the morning, Then I went back out to the new place to do some more measuring and made a list of things I want done. Monday, I have people coming out there to see things so they can give me a quote.

Saturday, I did a bunch of yard work. The weather was just great all day around 80, sunny and so pleasant.  I swept the garage and took apart a metal shelving unit in the garage.  Most of the things on the shelves were empty boxes. Some were boxes for things we don’t even have anymore.  Others I might use for this move, like for my laser printer but then I’ll recycle the box because my printer is already at least 5 years old. By the time I move again I’ll probably have a new printer.  Then I did some blogging and packing. I have to say I have found things I was looking for while packing.  I’m trying to get a bit ahead on the blog because July will be harder with moving.

I’m not looking forward to the heat wave coming this week, 90s (30C)  Only a couple days are supposed to have some rain, unlike this past week or so with about 5 days having rain.

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality.  These are the exciting ARCs I received this week:   (If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry)

Oh How I love the publishers who work with me!  Thank you so much Harper Audio,  Sourcebooks Casablanca,  and Ace Roc / Berkley Publishing.

(If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry)

Nothing.

Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.

I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT  they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.

I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.

If you like this and want to see me do the Sunday post, as often as I can manage, leave me a comment and let me know.

Anne

    • Yes I haven’t given up on reading (or quilting) to move. I think it’s going ok, but time will tell. I am so glad to have an entire month overlap to move. I love Chicken tortilla soup. It’s one of my favorites. I don’t put the cheese or chips in it; I just have them available in case people want to use them. I like to dip my chips in it for a few bites.

  1. Well Anne I hope it won’t get too hot there because packing and moving already makes you sweat! Enjoy your new books!

    • I know! I’m worried about moving when it’s hottest here. But both places have AC. I did end up showering twice yesterday though. Once when I got up and once after spending about 6 hours in the yard and garage. I love the feeling of accomplishment though. I still seem to be reading about the same but sleeping a bit less as its summer (more hours of light) and I’m energized with plans.

  2. You’re making great progress it seems with getting ready for the move and glad to hear the repairs are getting done, too. Your quilting night sounds fun and neat how the project you picked will be a gift.
No worries if you slow down online or with your blog during your move. Something has to give sometimes. 🙂
Nice haul, there. I picked up the new Juno Rushdan, too, and I’ve seen people really enjoying the Fix Up one. Hopefully the heat won’t clobber you too badly.

    Have a good week, Anne!

    • Nearly every quilt I make is a gift, particularly the baby quilts. I have to get stuff ready today for Wednesday because the schedule is busy during this week, as usual really.

Thanks, I am a bit worried about the heat but it was just as warm in MN during summer and actually more humid. Odd. One of the reasons I picked here to live is the smaller range of temperatures. Being between mountains and oceans seems to moderate them.

    • Well summer is like that in many places. In Florida, ( I used to go there for work a bit) it seemed to rain nearly every day for an hour or so in the afternoon. It has rained here almost every day over the last week or so but only a short time each day, often at night. There’s a chance here most days but only 2 days where it’s more than 50% chance.

I loved being outside yesterday even though I was a filthy mess after the yard / garage. Dust and cobwebs in the garage, so many.

  3. I has been a lot cooler than normal here. I think this week is suppose to get warmer but I have no idea what to wear anymore! lol
I do hope you will share the quilt when it is done! I love quilts, I just don’t know how to make them!

Have a great week, Anne! Happy Reading! xx

    • Yes I will share. The top is almost done. I’m going to work on that today as I ran into a problem and needed more fabric. Something in my planning (2 years ago) I can’t remember now. I’m going to pick out fabric for a special baby boy quilt I’ll be making next. 🙂

I just keep doing my stuff regardless of the weather. Although I do try to plan yard work and grilling for days with less rain and heat.

    • Two weeks until closing and we can start actually moving! I’m excited about the much better kitchen and new appliances. I love organizing everything. Yes it’s great finding things. I found a box of heavy duty extension cords in the garage yesterday. I’ve bought like 3 more over the 4 years here since I couldn’t find them. *face palm* I kind of gave up here since I knew we were renting and would move. Now I am energized to put things in place where they will work. We’ve never used the pool here but the new neighborhood has a fabulous one so if it’s hot we may use it. We do also have the YMCA (indoors for year round swimming). Yay for the pool!

    • It didn’t work for me to slowly clear things out. Now with a purpose, it’s working. I am so happy to be a home owner again so I can fix things and make my own decisions. But if you can do it slowly – DO IT! My mom was good at that method.

  4. Sounds like you got a lot accomplished this week. Always a good feeling. I feel for you with the heat wave. It’s been miserable. Well over 90 most days. I’ve been hearing good things about Tessa Bailey’s Fix Her Up. Hope you enjoy it!

  5. Packing is the worst. Hope you enjoy your new home! I cut back on Freebies because I realized I don’t read them…lol. I need to do a massive clean out of my kindle reads.

Have a great day and happy reading!

    • I have to push myself to pack. But I am slowly doing it. Well I’m actually reading a freebie right now. That’s why I do my Thrifty Thursday feature. Also I do some for COYER. Mostly my freebies are the first book in a series of authors I know or want to try.

    • Cool is good. Not cold but cool. I am trying to alternate different kinds of packing, etc. Today I baked peanut butter cookies to use up some supplies. I haven’t baked in awhile. I also entered my new yarn purchases in Ravelry and stored them in their appropriate storage bins. Now I am off to do some sewing and prep for quilting group this week.

  6. I love Tortilla soup. Chili’s has a really good one that I enjoy. My mom quilts too! I love quilts. I have a beach themed one on my bed! I love Jill Shelves and am hoping to read, The Lemon Sisters! I hope you enjoy it. Have a great week Anne!

    • Thank you Lindy! The women who runs the quilting group has so many quilts, everywhere in her house. She’s really generous about sharing all her supplies with us. She is also amazing at using up her scrap pieces. I hope to be as efficient as her someday.

  7. Sounds like the move is progressing quite nicely – how exciting. I hope the heat doesn’t become too much for you. We’re forecasted to have rain almost everyday this week but hopefully there will be no bad storms. I’m horrible at grabbing freebies too. I always think I’ll read them and I will someday and I don’t want it to pass and then want it. Looks like you got some good ones this week!

    • I just finished one of my freebies this morning. I don’t read them as fast as I should but I do read them, especially first in the series ones favorite authors give away.

Today is the first day back in the 90s so we will see. I’m wearing light colors, all cottons. I’m mostly inside with AC but getting in the car. UGH

  8. I’m right there with you here in NC. I want last week’s perfect temps back! *cries* Good luck with all the packing. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that the temps drop again for your move.

  9. It sounds like you’re going to be very busy these coming weeks, Anne. I’m glad the sellers of your house have done the work they were supposed to do before you become the new owners. It’s a lot to make sure is working right so you’ll be happy once you’re there.
I loved The Lemon Sisters so much, and I hope you will, too.
I hope this week is treating you well 🙂

  10. Sounds like a productive week, Anne! I’m not thrilled with the heat either. Out here in Southern California, it’s been heating up and it makes it harder to exercise.

I’ve heard good things about Fix Her Up. 🙂

    • I’m having my most productive weeks in years It feels so good to get things in shape. We have to watch ourselves with this heat though. Our exercise is all moving boxes and furniture and cleaning right now and yardwork. I do hope we can get in a swim sometime soon.
