The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received.
Don’t forget to look at my giveaways on the right sidebar.
This week has been crazy busy with pack / sort/ throw/ donate, meeting contractors, and medical appointments. I found retired firefighters to install smoke alarms / fire extinguishers, and a contractor to do all the small things. We met with the oral surgeon to remove my daughter’s wisdom teeth this summer. We are also just eating from the fridge and freezer.
I’ve been trying to get ahead on blogging because this next couple weeks will be the most busy. My closing is this Friday and we will be moving during July. I won’t likely be able to run around and comment much the next couple weeks, I’ve already fallen behind on reading / commenting on new posts.
My daughter is very excited because we did adopt a dog. Her name is Lulu. She is a wire-haired terrier mix. She’s just over a year old. We won’t pick her up until next weekend since I didn’t want to bring her to the old house. We planned not to start sleeping over at the new place until mid-month but now we will start next weekend.
For the Desert Island Read-athon for COYER, my list contained 5 books. It was a close thing to finish. I read 2 ebooks: Hooked by Elizabeth Hunter and Till There Was You by Marie Force. I read 3 audiobooks: How to Wake an Undead City by Hailey Edwards, and Snowspelled and Thornbound by Stephanie Burgis. I had to listen to the last audiobook on Saturday.
Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality. These are the exciting ARCs I received this week:
Nothing.
Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.
I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.
I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.
If you like this and want to see me do the Sunday post, as often as I can manage, leave me a comment and let me know.

You must be so excited about settling into your new home. And Lulu is precious. Love the name you chose for her. And I have Play Dead. Did the opposite of you this week and grabbed a bunch of books. Didn’t go over my buying budget though as I haven’t been buying many lately. Have a great Sunday!
I am really excited to finally be able to choose things you can’t when you rent. I know parts will be exhausting and some things won’t go well but I still feel energized to do it. We have been doing the sort / throw / donate/ pack which takes more time than just packing.
We didn’t pick her name; her name was Lulu.
You’re going to be so busy with this move! I hope everything goes smoothly 🙂 and Lulu is adorable!
Thank you! We are pretty excited about it all.
“Kissing Galileo” sounds good. I wonder if it’s historical. I sometimes like books and novels that incorporate famous people because it helps me understand history better, even if it is sometimes a little inaccurate.
It’s a romance. The first in the book was Kissing Tolstoy. I haven’t read the first yet even though I own it. It features professors at college so there may be a little of the subject matter but mostly it’x romance.
I love that you are getting this nice transition between leaving one house and moving into the other. Still tons to do, I know. Fun little moppet dog. 🙂
No worries about commenting. Obviously something has to give when a move is happening.
Way to go on the RAT. I made my last book on Friday and had to push because I struggle reading off lists like that.
Nice that you got the next Innkeeper release. I plan to preorder that one. 🙂
Have a good week, Anne!
Thanks Sophia! I worry a bit that I will finish my blog posts on time. But I’ll get it together. The next few weeks might be iffy at times. Apparently Lulu likes to bark at squirrels. Works for me.
Awwww Lulu is a cutie!!! Hopefully all goes well with the move! Good luck!
Thank you! It’s going to be a rollercoaster this week.
OMG Anne! Lulu is so cute!!!! A dog is a life changer really. I hope you’ll enjoy her and feel even better for having a little animal who will always welcome you when you are back from somewhere, never complain and give you lots fo love! On another note: good luck with all the packing!
Thank you! Lulu is similar in size to the dog we lost to old age last fall. So we have usually had a dog. I’m glad we will have a fenced in yard at the new house so we don’t have to leash her every second.
Congrats on the new addition to the family. 🙂 I’m sure i will be a busy week leading up to the closing. Hope all goes smoothly!
Yes, during the week I am on the phone finding insurance, handling stuff and on the weekend I am researching and packing and doing laundry. Gah. I like the process of figuring out how to organize everything. Thank you!
I hope the transition goes smoothly, and Lulu enjoys her new home as well.
Have a great reading week
Thank you! I think this will be a big audiobook week. It works well with some packing.
Congradz on the new puppy and good luck with the move. Have a great week.
Thank you! It’s going to be wild.
I hope you love your new home! I hope, too, that Lulu loves it!! What a cutie–I’m so glad you adopted her! I am in dog mode lately. I think my own dogs are tired of me getting all snuggly and talking about adopting another. Here’s to hoping the week ahead treats you well!
Thank you! I think we will love it but it will be exhausting with all I want to do at first.
Lulu is beautiful. We are a fur-family here, too. We have 3 dogs and 3 cats. Congrats on your move, too.
There were many gorgeous dogs at this adoption event but we needed the one to be the right fit for our lifestyle / personality. I can’t have cats; I am very allergic to them. Thank you!
Awww Lulu is such a cutie. Sounds like you have done all you can to be ready for the move. Hope it goes smoothly and enjoy the adventure.
Well my planning and organization is top notch. The execution needs more time devoted with less time at the computer. lol
Ooh your move date is getting close! Hope all goes well. and Lulu is a cutie! I’ll bet you can’t wait to get into your new place and bring her home. 🙂
Have an awesome week!
Thank you! It will be so good to have our own place and be able to make decisions (not have to ask a landlord) and know I can make changes as it is my property. Lulu will be a good addition to the family.
Lulu is lovely! I hope all goes smoothly with completion and you get settled at the new place quickly.
I pre-ordered Sweep of The Blade this week… Can’t wait to read the finished version. I read it as the weekly serial but I think they’ve made quite a few changes.
Thank you!
I read it as a serial also but I auto-buy everything Ilona Andrews, often in multiple formats. 🙂
Good luck with the move! Hope everything goes smoothly for you!!
Thank you! I’m sure there will be some issues here & there but I’m excited to get going on it now.
Such a cute doggie!!! Glad you adopted her!
Have a great week and happy reading!
Stormi
Thank you! We thought she was adorable and friendly. Her tail was always wagging. You can’t tell from the photo but one eye is blue and one is brown.
Good luck on the move. So glad for your new puppy. I’m falling so far behind on writing reviews and even posting (especially on Hot Listens). I haven’t been reading much. I’ve got three ebooks waiting on me and just little desire to read. I hope that it gets better soon.
Melanie @ Hot Listens & Books of My Heart
I know what you mean. I spent a lot of time writing reviews today, rather than packing. But I’m doing at least 4 reviews a week. At least in July I have very few ARCS so I can just do backlist or library or whatever I want. Good luck on catching up.
What an awesome dog – how cute! Probably a smart idea to wait to move it to the new home – less trauma for the pet. I can tell this dog is going to be well loved. Good luck with the closing and the move.
Thank you. My daughter has already discussed with Lulu that peanut butter, bacon and salmon will be important parts of her diet.
Oh Anne – Lulu is just so cute!! Thanks for sharing. I hope everything goes smoothly! *hugs*
PS… did you pre-order SWEEP of the BLADE? Because I didn’t think it came out until July…
Lulu is adorable and so friendly. Thankfully not barky. This week will definitely have its challenges. Thank you!!
I pre-order everything Ilona Andrews as soon as I know it is possible.
Oh my goodness, what a cute puppy! Good luck with the transition/move, Anne!
Thank you! I think it will cut down on my blog commenting time and reading time but up my audiobook time. We will see. The next few weeks will be a whirlwind.
