The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly  @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received.

Stacking The Shelves is also a weekly meme hosted by  Tynga’s Reviews and Marlene from Reading Reality.  It’s all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!

Don’t forget to look at my giveaways on the right sidebar.

I thought I was exhausted last week. Hahaha  It was just a warmup for this week.  It wouldn’t be as hard if the temperature wasn’t in the mid to upper 90s.   My pants no longer stay around my waist (too big). I’m showering twice a day because I get so hot, sweaty and dirty with the moving, packing and scrubbing.

I love the new place, so many things are better.  The kitchen is a joy, in layout. I love our new appliances – the fridge, washer and dryer.   I’m drinking water from the fridge door all day long; no more bottled water for me.  It’s great to get everything where we need it to go and make a home.

Of course, there have been a few glitches.  My daughter’s toilet was leaking from the bolts so I’ve already used the home warranty I had the seller purchase for me.  Part of a table leg connector got broken but I was able to figure out a way to fix it with an electrical part from Lowe’s. We have needed to buy some things so the money is flying out fast, which I expected.

Lulu is awesome.  She’s friendly and not barky.  She does like to chew so we have to watch her on that a bit.  We are really enjoying her.

I’m listening to audiobooks but I’ve only been sleeping about 6 hours a night so I haven’t been reading much before bed.  I hope to get back into that routine this week.   I had one round with movers who were late but very good, and I have another round this Thursday.  I’ve been hauling loads in the car at least daily.  Saturday, I rented a cargo van and hoped to haul 3-4 bigger loads, but only managed 2 loads.  Still I accomplished quite a bit.  I like to take the more fragile stuff myself this way.  I’m so tired after hauling stuff for 12 hours again today.

Sunday I plan to just stay home at the new house.  I need to scrub out bookcases we brought over today and put away things in boxes we hauled over today (Saturday).  I am going to need to plan 1-2 days a week to do those things at home to rest a bit and eat more regular meals or I won’t make it through the month.  I’m one huge bruise all over.

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality.  These are the exciting ARCs I received this week:

Thank  you Macmillan Audio!

Nope.

Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.

I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT  they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.

I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.

If you like this and want to see me do the Sunday post, as often as I can manage, leave me a comment and let me know.

Anne

    • I took today off mostly and I could feel it when I carried a bunch of boxes and totes upstairs. I am drinking a LOT of water. It’s going to be another busy week but I am going to try to pace myself a bit better.

  1. Holy sniikies! Yes, you are entitled to being exhausted. Whew! You are a whirl of activity and I’ glad that you already love the new place so much better.
And, that is what I love about audios. When I can’t get to a print book, I can still click on a story and keep at my tasks.

Hopefully you’ll have a little more endurance to get through the rest and wishing you a great week, Anne!

  2. Moving is such exhausting work. It sounds like you have so much going on right now. I imagine you will be so glad when it’s all done and you can sit back and relax in your new home. I hope you enjoy Bark of Night. Have a wonderful week, Anne!

I so cannot stand moving. My joke is that I’ll just burn the house down and by all new stuff so I don’t have to move it. I’m also very tired from just reading your post. I’m glad everything is working out, especially the new puppy. Have a great week.

    • Thank you! I have to do better at pacing myself this week. We have almost enough stuff here to be comfortable. It’s like being on vacation with just a suitcase so I keep wearing and washing the same clothes over and over. I focused on getting the kitchen stuff over first. Now I am working on the rest.

  4. Oh, gosh, HOW ARE YOU SURVIVING MOVING PLACES IN THIS HEAT? I’m in awe. I’m between awe and wanting to send you some sort of trophy for pulling it off. HONESTLY, the heat is going to be the end of me. I’m over it. Is it autumn yet? Can we just cool off a LITTLE bit? Not too hot, not too cold? I’m glad you’re liking the new place. And that the pup is settling in well! Although, that does stink about the chewing thing. My friend is having a similar issue with her new kitten–she likes to chew things at random!

Here’s to hoping the upcoming week treats you well and you get a little time to rest so you aren’t wholly exhausted again.

    • Thank you! I am OVER the heat. It is just suffocating. But the work has to be done. I just throw on a tank and capris and go for it every day with the extra showers as needed. It’s screwing up my reading time though.

  5. Just thinking about everything that goes into moving exhausts me! I sure it is exciting though, especially now that everything is coming together. I am so glad that things are working out with your new dog. I hope you have a great week and stay cool!

    • Thank you! The AC works much better at the new house. There is an HVAC system for each floor. The old house only has one and it was always kind of hot in the summer and cold in the winter. One of the reasons I wanted to move plus a crappy kitchen. It will be awesome once I get things here and organized but the process is tiring. I don’t thing there is a snowball’s chance in hell I will stay cool this week. Sigh.

  6. I’m so glad you are loving the new place! And I’m glad Lulu is settling in well. Puppies love to chew! That was the hardest thing about Calleigh when she was a puppy. She chewed EVERYTHING.
    Get some rest!

    • She is about 1.5 years not a puppy and she isn’t chewing everything – thank goodness. We have gotten her some toys to focus her on chewing them. She also likes sticks in the yard. Yes I have to pace myself to rest. I just think of things I need to do and do them.

  7. Sounds like the move is going as smoothly as possible. I bet you will be glad when you guys are finally settled though. Good thing you have the insurance huh? Owning a home does sometimes feel like a money pit even when things are going well right? Hopefully you get back into your routine soon enough.

  8. Omg Anne! I have no idea how you’re doing it and staying sane! Hopefully not too long until it’s all finished and you can state you are completely moved in!

I’m glad that Lulu has settled quickly, I wonder what she makes of all the back and forth with boxes. 🙂

    • Well this week has been even more challenging. I’m planning less moving / packing this weekend and more unpacking. But I have to finish by the end of the month. It’s a blessing and a curse to spread it out. I love the amount of time it gives me to go through things. I love the new house and the chance to clean and organize everything.

We brought over the next truckload today and so some rooms which had no furniture all of a sudden do. (Living room, dining room, music room (piano), guest bedroom. She loves the rug I put on the wood floor of the living room.

  9. Congratulations on the new house! And good luck as you continue your moving and cleaning. We helped clean out the house Robin was sharing with several other students after they graduated from college. It was a big job; it took days of hard work. Not because the kids were slobs, but because we did such a thorough job; I think we left it cleaner than when the kids moved in.

Anyway, I hope the remainder of the moving and cleaning goes well… and that you can get some rest soon!
