The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly  @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received.

Stacking The Shelves is also a weekly meme hosted by  Tynga’s Reviews and Marlene from Reading Reality.  It’s all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!

Don’t forget to look at my giveaways on the right sidebar.

Sunday was a good day for doing things and cooking things.  I wrote some reviews, visited some blogs and did some laundry before my daughter got up.  I continued doing more computer work but finally after dinner, we went through some boxes.  I found something I had been hunting for a few weeks.  My daughter got some boxes from her room unpacked and cleaned up her bathroom!  Monday is always on the run to school and appointments.

Tuesday felt like Sunday as we stayed home and worked on stuff. I did a bunch of loads of laundry and even though my daughter slept in late, she worked hard on putting away clothes from the 4 boxes of her stuff I laundered.  The upholsterer called and the sofa and big chair are finished so I made arrangements to pick them up next Thursday.  I loaded up all my audio ARCs to my phone for the trip.

Wednesday was the big packup.  We also got manicures and I got a few grocery items since my daughter is flying in for the weekend and I am driving.  Thursday and Friday I’ll be traveling to Iowa.   Well I got to Iowa, picking up my niece in Indianapolis after her optometry classes ended   We didn’t get to town until 10pm.  My poor daughter’s first flight was delayed so she missed her connection and ended up stranded in Chicago overnight.  She was pretty freaked out dealing with trying to go standby, failing that (2 people got to go she was #3 in line)  and then finding a hotel and getting there. I had her suitcase and coat, so she had nothing but a backpack.  It’s like 30F, 0C. So I picked her up Saturday, we missed the lunch event. But had the afternoon and evening with family.  Sunday, we both head home. I’ll post more next week. I won’t be home until Monday night, so I will be late to the visiting next week.

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality.  These are the exciting ARCs I received this week (If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry):

Thank you so much Harper/Harlequin Audio,  Simon & Schuster Audio,  AceRoc / Berkley Publishing,  and Social Butterfly PR.

(If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry)

I got these in the 2-1 credit sale at Audible.

Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.

I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT  they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.

I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.

If you like this and want to see me do the Sunday post, as often as I can manage, leave me a comment and let me know.

Anne

    • Thank you; we need it. We got to the events, went through stuff at Mom’s and now we are exhausted. I start back on the 2 day drive today At least I can listen to audiobooks and it’s just me and Lulu.

  1. stand-by can be hard. I had an option for stand-by before and I opted out. Couldn’t stand the unknown of waiting. That pretty much describes my personality and things I need to work on.

    • I’m with you on that. She missed the connection by 2 minutes and she was the only person on standby who didn’t get to go. It was a sucky evening And she was scared I was really proud she worked through it and did what she needed to do, exhausted as she was.

  2. I’ve been meaning to read Brenda Novak.

Moving issues tend to linger on. I’ve been in my new residence for 4-1/2 months, and while I don’t have any unpacked boxes, there are things I want to go through over at my daughter’s garage, where she stashed some of my stuff. So now I want to find a few more sentimental items…things she didn’t bring to me. LOL

    Enjoy your week!

    • Yes they do I’m taking my time and doing a good job of sort and throw so the unpacking is slower But right now my car is loaded to the gills with stuff from my Mom’s house (more sentimental memories) which will also need to be found places in the new home. So the home of nearly 50 years is sold and I won’t see it again. Thankfully, the buyers have been really nice and flexible.

  3. Oh Anne it must have been so frustrating and maybe a little frightening for your daughter! All ended up well but still! I hope next week will be less stressful!

  4. Sounds like your had a productive week. Sorry to hear about your daughter’s travel troubles, that sounds annoying she got stranded. I hope you have a fun visit in Iowa. Enjoy your new books and have a great week!

  5. I like your weekly updates, you always seem to achieve things! I can spend weeks wondering what I’ve achieved for it’s rarely any of the things I was planning on doing! lol
Iron Druid series is one I’ve been intending to read for a while… I’m curious as to what you think of them.
I hope you have a good week Anne!

  6. Sounds like a busy & productive week! I feel for your daughter getting stranded, that’s got to be stressful – especially since she didn’t have her luggage (though if she had checked bags she also probably wouldn’t have had her luggage). I hope your trip ends up being productive and your trip home is a bit easier!

    • Thank you! My daughter is home safe and I’ll be home tomorrow Lulu is getting much better at the car riding thing She’s still not all that keen on elevators I can’t wait to be home and work on all the stuff and unpacking and reading The lawn probably needs mowing Best of all, the weather at home is 70s and beautiful It snowed in Iowa

  7. That sounds like an insane trip! So glad that you have that now behind you – at least now you’re home you can hopefully put your feet up and recover a bit… I absolutely loved the Iron Druid series and unlike more long-running fantasy reads, it doesn’t get steadily darker as it goes, thanks to that lovely hound and his obsession with poodles and sausages…

    • It was exhausting. I never want to leave home again. Well ok, that’s not true. But I need to be home to do some things now. And catch up on everything. I’m excited to listen to it on audio as Luke Daniels is a favorite of mine.

    • It was a crazy trip but I am glad to be home, just tired. I need to catch up on everything now. There’s just a bunch more happening this next week as usual. I’m falling asleep in my chair and now that it gets dark around 7 I want to go to bed!

  8. It soundalike you got a lot accomplished. Manicures and traveling are two things that I love. It looks like you got an awesome book haul. I have Twice in a Blue Moon for review too 🙂
