The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received.
Stacking The Shelves is also a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Marlene from Reading Reality. It’s all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!
Don’t forget to look at my giveaways on the right sidebar.
The week started with my daughter finishing up her last final. Then there were medical appointments. My ex is here for a few weeks to visit my daughter and work on a few projects. It is a bit difficult at times. But I want her to be able to spend time with him. She hadn’t seen him for 1.5 years.
We did make it to quilting on Wednesday. We were tired but it was great to see people. We finished one of the receiving blankets from one of my kits. I have many kits prepared with the 9 squares but need to match backing to them yet. When we were ready to leave, my daughter was with Tucker, their dog, and he bit her hand. It happened so fast we were shocked. So she hasn’t been able to do much with her hand swelling and hurting a bit. It’s making it hard for her to work on her unpacking.
I saw on Twitter, because I follow my favorite narrator, that one of his fans was making ornaments and if you contacted him you would get one. I didn’t know if it would happen but it showed up! YAY!
I spent a lot of time making phone calls to set up medical appointments or get information for projects. I’m doing lots of great cooking. I’m coordinating and working on household projects he’s doing, and my own. I don’t seem to be reading much, other than audio while I’m doing tasks. I’m planning a bit for next year on the blog. I think somewhat less challenges and blog tours, and more reading books I already own and some discussion posts.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
I hope everyone has a happy, healthy and safe holiday season. I wish for you to have some yummy food and good times with friends and family.
This week (December 23 – 27) is Top 10 of 2019 posts. They will post at 12:10am EST so you can link up early. Each day will have a linky, so you can participate in 1 day or all 5 posts.
You can read about it HERE
Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality. These are the exciting ARCs I received this week (If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry):
Tantor Audio gave me four December / January titles. Thank you so much!
(If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry)
I started with the Audible sale with every title on sale. I always check if they are available at the library and also if they are on KU. Some of these are where I checked out the KU book and then added the narration. I had a $5 coupon from an earlier sale.
Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.
I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.
I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.
If you like this and want to see me do the Sunday post, as often as I can manage, leave me a comment and let me know.

I hope your daughter has good visit with her dad. That’s scary about the dog bite! Hope her hand is okay. Love the ornament! Shane East is one of my favorites.
Thank you! She’s been icing it and taking Tylenol. Shane East is my favorite.
Sorry to hear about your daughter’s bitten hand and I hope it soon clears up. A very Happy Christmas to you, Anne. I hope you get a chance to listen or read some really good books during the holiday season:)).
Thank you! She is still doing a lot of sleeping and resting. My role is to make good foods and clean up. It’s a nice relaxed holiday week!
Happy holidays! Sorry things are a bit stressful for you right now, but hope you get to relax and have a peaceful time. I loved Taming Demons for Beginners, hope you do too!!
Thank you Lizzy. So far things are going well other than I am feeling a bit of stress over the mess of stuff all over for the projects but hopefully that clears as each project is finished.
Happy holidays! I love quilts, although I’ve never made one.
Enjoy your week and your books.
I love them too and I only learned about 15 years ago, although I have been sewing for more than 50 years. Now we want to make wall hangings for each month to decorate our foyer. Thank you!
I hope your daughter enjoys the time with her father, and that her hand heals quickly.
Wishing you a great reading week and a joyful holiday season
Thank you! I think things are going well and I am doing my part with excellent food.
Oh yay many great books for you this week!
I don’t ever seem to have a bad week. I am grateful to get the best books!
Oh my goodness, your poor daughter! I hope she was able to get some meds to avoid infection. We had to do that when my daughter was bite by the dog down the block. It just ran up to her and bite her. I hope she has a nice time with her dad.
You got lots of awesome books! I hope you have a great Christmas, Anne! Happy Reading! xx
Thanks Michelle! I didn’t even think of antibiotics although we sprayed it with Bactine. If she is still having swelling tomorrow perhaps a trip to the doc or urgent care is warranted. We are having a good holiday so far and slowly working through the small projects.
I hope your daughter enjoyed her time with her dad. Already a Merry Christmas Anne!
Thank you! It is going well so far.
You’ve got a GREAT mix of genres, Anne? Im looking forward to Loreth’s book. I got that on audio, too.
Have a wonderful Christmas?
I am grateful to get the best stuff. I’m still really stuck on mystery/thriller right now which is right in Loreth’s lane. I’m so hooked on Cork O’Connor. But the David Chandler versions of the next 2 books are 2022 and 2023! I do have plenty of other things to read but….
I hope your daughter’s hand heals quickly and she has a good visit with her dad. I love the ornament. Have a great week!
Thank you! We are having some good days with some yummy food. I think I’m going to try to make mini cheesecakes for dessert Christmas Eve.
I hope your daughter had a nice visit with her dad and that her hand heals quickly. That’s scary!
Thank you! It was scary as it happened so fast. We’ve been going there, seeing Tucker for almost a year so it’s really weird.
I’m thinking of doing less challenges and blog tours next year as well. I have several tours scheduled in January but then I think I’m really going to try to focus more on my backlist. I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas!
Thank you! I just really need to work on the books I own.
I hope your daughter is feeling okay. Strange that the dog bit her so suddenly. I also hope she has a nice visit with her dad but I understand how awkward it can be for you. Nice new reads this week – I hope you enjoy them all!
Thank you Carole. I know we have known the dog for almost a year. Things are going ok for me and I’m enjoying doing house projects and cooking lots of really yummy food. I am grateful to get the best books.
It’s nice that your supportive of your daughter spending time with her father. Hope her hand heals quickly!
I hope you enjoy In the Dark as much as I did! Have a lovely holiday, Anne! 🙂
Thank you! I would love to listen to In the Dark today but ARCs first.
That’s nice you and your X are amicable, so your daughter can spend time with her father. Have a great Holiday and nice book haul this week. Enjoy!
Thank you! I wish you a joyous holiday with your family, great reading and some excellent food!
I can understand it being awkward, but my hat’s off to you for making it possible for your daughter to spend time with her dad. As a child of divorced parents, one thing I always appreciated was that my mom and dad always supported the other parent’s relationship with me. I’m sure your daughter does as well.
I hope your daughter’s hand heals soon. And I wish you all a wonderful Christmas!
Thank you! I do whatever I can for my daughter.
Hope your daughter’s hand is okay. Have a great holiday week!
Thank you! It’s getting better.
I’m sorry to hear about your daughter’s hand. I hope she’s okay. The quilt is lovely. Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Thank you! I wish I had more time to quilt this week. I’m doing more cooking but I enjoy that too.
Sorry about your daughter´s hand. I made the same experience a few years ago and had to go and see the doctor every day for control. It was no fun. Wish her to get well soon. Your quilt looks wonderful. It reminds me of my time in the US when I participated in a quilting class in Massachusetts. I made some quilts but have only one left and here at home. Have wonderful holidays and hopefully the one or the other book under the tree. Merry Christmas.
Thank you! These little 9 squares are more receiving blankets as they don’t have any batting. I am using up most of my flannel for a good cause.
Ouch. I hope your daughter’s hand heals quickly and that she had a good visit with her dad. Have a wonderful Christmas! Sorry I’ve been absent lately. Been so busy with work.
She seems to be feeling better but has turned herself around to vampire hours. Thank you. I hope you are getting a chance to relax. I don’t feel like I’m getting much relaxing with all the cooking I am doing.
Oh no, Anne! I am sorry to hear about your daughter’s hand. How scary – is she doing okay? I hope you both have a wonderful Christmas! xoxo
She is doing better but it’s been a week. She iced it and took tylenol. But she was bummed out she couldn’t knit and do some other things, especially at first, but knitting she uses to reduce anxiety so it’s been a rough week. She thinks she may be able to knit now.
Have a wonderful holiday.
Melanie @ Hot Listens & Books of My Heart
Thanks Melanie! I hope you are having a relaxing, refreshing holiday!
I hope you have a great Christmas/holiday period Anne!
I LOVED (LOVED LOVED LOVED) Taming Demons For Beginners so I can’t wait to see what you think!
Thank you! I’ll be listening to Taming Demons soon.
Sorry to hear that your daughter got bit by a dog! I hope you were able to have a nice Christmas anyway!
She was swollen and sore for a bit but is fine now. Thank you!
Happy New Year and happy reading. I hope your daughter’s hand is healed, those things always happen so fast.
Nice ornament!
