Cara Pax never wanted to be a bounty hunter. She's happy to leave chasing criminals and tackling skips to her sisters. But if she wants her dreams of escaping the family business to come true, she's got one last job to finish... Only problem is, she doesn't think her bounty is guilty.
Henry Kavenski is a man with innocence to prove. When he realizes that Cara believes him, he'll do anything to keep her out of harm's way. Escaping criminals and dodging cops might not be the best time to fall in love, but Henry and Cara won't give up, not when there's a chance at a new life ahead--if they can survive the fall.
The story of the Pax sister bounty hunters continues in the Rocky Mountain Bounty Hunters series. Cara is the heroine of this story. For someone who is studying to be a kindergarten teacher, who does computer research for bounty hunting, she has guts. She wants to help since things are dire financially. She decides to do some surveillance of some skips and things go downhill from there.
Henry is the hot skip for a murder charge who shouldn’t be so attractive. Once he began getting Cara out of trouble, I saw exactly who he was. You’ll have to read the story for yourself. Their romance happens fast but in the adrenaline of romantic suspense it seems right. The life and death situations they face together makes them a team.
Risk It All is a bit ridiculous as far as being realistic but all kinds of fun and thrilling action. Cara made me laugh. She may have been out of her depth at times but she wasn’t stupid or careless. Henry really was a great guy in a rough situation. I loved how he treated Cara. I was also pleased with his straightforward honesty at the end.
The epilogue is about Nora and it had me snickering. I’m guessing she will be next to find her man. The overall story arc of the business and cases will carry through the series, with a new couple in each book. I liked this better than the first book and I’m looking forward to more.
Narration:
I have heard this narrator before on other books by Katie Ruggle. The primary voice was Cara and she performed it well. It sounded very similar to Molly from the first book, but it’s been awhile. I was comfortable with the other female and male voices. The emotional status of Cara was well performed with the narration adding to my enjoyment of the story. I listened at my usual 1.5x speed.

Nice review. I’ve got book one to read. Thank’s for sharing!
I enjoy these with the action and romance; they are fun! This one was better for me than the first one.
Cara and Henry were great. I liked this one even better than Molly and John’s book. It will be fun to get Norah’s book.
LOL I just said the same thing on my last reply before reading your comment. This one made more sense to me than the first one. But they were both very fun and easy to read. I think Nora’s book will be funny.
I literally just finished In Her Sights yesterday! I have Risk It All as well and need to get to it soon!
You are all set to go! They are easy to read and I enjoyed them.
I really want to try this author out this year, good to know its not that authentic, but sometimes its fun to have an entertaining story.
They are really fun and we are reading fiction after all. Sometimes, I have trouble in my head if it is too far from reality though. While these are a bit far, they are too much fun to miss and I don’t have trouble with them, I just enjoy them.
