The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly  @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week, and showcase books and things we have received.

Stacking The Shelves is also a weekly meme hosted by  Tynga’s Reviews and Marlene from Reading Reality.  It’s all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!

Don’t forget to look at my giveaways on the right sidebar.

OK  I didn’t keep track of what day things happened very well.  The weather was pretty good but a little rainy.  We finished putting together my daughter’s nightstands this week. We made 2; one for each side of her bed. We built a new garden bed for flowers and herbs.  The broccoli is growing another head in spite of some freezing nights!

Monday was the long day with 2 classes followed by 2 medical appointments.  Tuesday was just the one physical therapy appt.  We also celebrated Lulu’s 2nd birthday.   Wednesday was the usual classes. We didn’t go to quilting because we thought our house guest was leaving (my ex) on Thursday  but he didn’t go until Friday.   He has helped with a lot of projects, being here 6 weeks.  It wasn’t always easy but we made it work.

Thursday,  I spent most of the day finishing the quilt for my great niece. There was also more work on the garage organization.  We hung special bike racks and hung the bikes.  The shelf unit got some shelves adjusted and it was made more stable by attaching it to the wall.   Friday, I scrubbed shelves, cleaned off the stuff which goes on the shelves and hung some things.  It is much improved.

Friday was a free day!  We got an email from my daughter’s college that classes were cancelled due to flooding and high winds.  All the ARC requests came available on Friday, before then I had none.

Saturday, I had good intentions of doing lots of stuff.  I did write some reviews and work on some posts. But mostly I was very relaxed which is ok.  I was going to run an errand but decided to wait until Sunday since we would be out for a school event anyway.  I really love my days at home.  I managed to talk to my daughter about some things while I made soup for dinner and we ate.

I also managed to hang my Sons of Anarchy photos.    I did use a level but some of the frames are inexpensive and I think the hangers on them are not square. I should really do a new collage with my best photo with each of them.  Some of my favorites with Charlie aren’t here and none with some of the others like Ron Perlman, Katey Sagal, Emilio Rivera, Drea de Matteo, Michael Orenstein, and others. It doesn’t include the Forest Rangers ones. I’ve met and had photos with almost everyone from the show. These are mostly from Harley events and the autographed ones.

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality.  These are the exciting ARCs I received this week (If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry):

Thank you so much to Brilliance Audio, MacMillan Audio, Tantor Audio,  PRH Audio,  St. Martin’s Press, and AceRoc.

(If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry)

This is my choice from Prime’s First Reads this month.

Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.

I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT  they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.

I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.

If you like this and want to see me do the Sunday post, as often as I can manage, leave me a comment and let me know.

Anne

  1. That’s neat you got those nightstands finished, they look great! That guilt looks nice too, seems like a lot of work to make that. It always seems those ARCs all come in at once. I haven’t had as many ARC’s lately, so I am trying to get through some older copies as well as books I bought. I am currently reading book 2 in that Kelley Armstrong series, it’s a great one. I hope you’re enjoying it too, that’s neat you got book 5 in audio. Have a great week!

    • Thank you! I just finished last night Alone in the Wild and LOVE it. At least these ARCs are spread out over the next 4 months, not all right now. But the audios do tend to be more right now. I’ve listened to 2 of them and already posted my review on A Cold Trail so I’m keeping up somewhat.

  2. The end tables turned out really nice and wow, love the quilt. It will make a lovely present. LOL, your garage looks so neat and organized- I think that is an impossibility for us.
Whew, the weather got a bit wild there to cancel school, but glad you guys are safe and you could have a few quiet days at home. Six weeks? Whoa, long stay for a guest, but glad he was helpful. 🙂
Your fan wall looks great. I had to adjust hanging hardware on a couple of my frames when I got them new because they were crooked. Frustrating, I know.

Very nice book haul this week. I’m still behind on my arcs and manage to accept more because I really wanted them. It will be a while before I steadily catch up because I also am determined to keep up my library and own TBR reading, too.

    Have a good week, Anne!

    • Thank you! Yes I love the cleaned up garage. The guest is a total clutter of everywhere so it feels good to have the space back. I have my own clutter to finish up storing and then it is on to cleaning now (since the boxes are mostly gone). I’ll be glad for spring break so my daughter can get her things put away a bit.

I am unlikely to fix the hanging hardware and just live with the crooked. I’m working on the family photos wall in the dining room now.

I am with you on the reading ARCS and stuff I own. I have every day filled with a review and I refuse to post 2 reviews on a day. That seems ridiculous unless they are in the same series. But some of the stuff from the library or even that I own I am just doing the short review on Goodreads and not on the blog.

      Have a great week Sophia!

  3. A good intention is a good start in getting anything done. One of my biggest intentions today is to steer clear of any negative emotions and keep my goals in mind.

    • Well said. You have to figure out what you want and the options to get there to make progress. Or have a lucky accident. Life is some of each. I try to figure out what I need to do, have a current task list. I especially love days where things are time sensitive (all day at home) so I can just work in the order I want. Today it turns out most of it is time sensitive from meal plans to an event tonight, but I still have tasks I want to happen.

  4. Loving your Sons of Anarchy wall!

I wish I was current with the Dugoni series (haven’t even started) because I wanted that new book? I did get The Sun Down Motel and it sounds SO good! I’m also looking forward to your review of that true crime pick.

Congrats on a great week, Anne?

    • Thank you. It has been an excellent week. I feel like things are finally getting in place and now it’s picked up and put away, cleaning will be happening. I hope I like that true crime one. I wanted to try it . I did one other true crime audio and found it a bit frustrating because it presented all kinds of information but no real conclusion.

  5. I love your Sons of Anarchy pics Anne! And how is Lulu already 2??? Now we also have high winds (storm) and flood here right at this moment so ..fingers crossed!

  6. Aren’t you creative and clever? That quilt is absolutely lovely and I think those nightstands are so practical and attractive. It’s a talent to make things around you so beautiful.

    • I’d say my daughter is more about the beautiful and I’m more about the functional. The night stands are her project. She saw a YouTube video or something and planned them from that. She wanted really tall ones because her bed is up higher so she has huge storage totes under it. I am more the quilt designer for now, but I think she will be onto that also.

  7. I love that gallery wall….I used to have one in the stairway of my home…years ago.

Those night stands look good…I could use a few more little cabinets.

Have a great week, and enjoy your reading.

  8. You’re always so productive, Anne! The nightstands look great. I do enjoy my days at home, too! I’m on the go and out and about so much when I’m really just a homebody at heart. 🙂

Wow, your Sons of Anarchy photo wall is awesome! My husband watched the whole series, but I only caught bits and pieces of it, but man it was crazy!

  9. Okay, you might deserve a medal or something for having your ex stay with you for 6 weeks. I could not have done it. How cool that you have met everyone from Sons of Anarchy and have the pics to prove it. Should I admit that I haven’t seen any of that show yet? Nice new reads this week! I finished The Sun Down Motel on Friday night and enjoyed it. I hope you have a great week!

    • Thanks, it wasn’t easy but it was good for my daughter overall. And he did help with projects.

The Sons of Anarchy guys are great fun. I’ve met more of them like Ron Perlman and Katey Sagal and so those are just some of the autographed photos I have.

I’m listening to Sun Down Motel right now and it’s a bit creepy.

  10. You sure did get a lot done! I was friends with my ex for many many years until he passed away a few months ago. People thought it was weird that we remained friends but it worked for us even though the marriage didn’t.

  11. Great job on the nightstands Anne! I would love to build my own vegetable and herb garden. Hopefully one day when I own my own home. Especially, because I’m at the point in my life where I’m trying to focus on healthy living. Great job on getting so many things accomplished last week and your photo collage. Beautiful quilt! Happy Reading all of your goodies!

  12. Your collage looks awesome and I love those nightstands. They are forecasting rain for the next 4 days and with 3 days of rain last week and then heavy snow Friday which has since melted off, our backyard is a PIT! I’m telling you, if the pups were any heavier, they’d sink when they go out. I will admit the snow was pretty while it was falling Friday morning and since I was off I enjoyed drinking coffee and reading The Stand after Mr. Barb left for work. Hope you guys have a wonderful week!

  13. The pictures are great – I am absolutely thrilled! You look happy and as always your past weeks seemed to be another busy one *smile* And the quilt. Love it. Thank you for sharing the pictures and happy reading or should I better say happy listening? Anyway, have fun and a great new week.
