The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week, and showcase books and things we have received.
Stacking The Shelves is also a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Marlene from Reading Reality. It’s all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!
Don’t forget to look at my giveaways on the right sidebar. Last day for the Blogaversary giveaway!
Sunday was another gorgeous day. I didn’t go out except into the yard with Lulu. I was doing blog visiting and other tasks. My daughter has been getting up later, like after 6pm, so we are on opposite schedules. When she doesn’t get up in time for dinner, I’m choosing now to make it. If I don’t, I just eat junk while waiting. She can reheat it when she does get up. I’m enjoying the HoHoHoRAT more than expected. I’m using it to read holiday freebies for my December Thrifty Thursday post and some holiday ARCs.
Monday was windy so I planned an indoor day. I spent a lot of time on emails and post setups. I got an Instacart with some specialty items. Tuesday was colder but felt nicer with less wind. I did a bunch of basic chores. Berls and I had an excellent discussion about the book we are buddy reading – A Conjuring Light by VE Schwab. I went out to blow the leaves to the curb for tomorrow’s pickup. I also trimmed more bushes to fill up the yard waste bin. I am trying some of the new Adagio teas and enjoying them.
Wednesday I had to pay bills, do some tax planning and figure out the health plans for 2021. I also read all the info the amazing Angela had sent me for Library Love 2021, sent her back a bunch of questions and set up the signup post and emails. I also talked to my brother a bit about whether we are moving my mom to a facility nearer to one of us. With cases surging, I want to wait 3 months, and also do a bit more research on the options. After dinner, we put my daughter’s jewelry hangers into her new armoire. She still has lots of jewelry to put away and organize but now she has the space. I tried to hook up the new tank to the grill and couldn’t get it to work. (:
Thursday was cloudy and a bit humid after raining over night. I got right to work on the long list I made the night before. I had a quiet day with my daughter not getting up until about 7pm. We called my Mom then to wish her a Happy Thanksgiving. She said the food she had was good. It was so late we just ate some pizza. My daughter’s not a fan of turkey anyway.
Friday, we did not go anywhere either. I wrote some reviews and did some reading. I hooked up the old tank to the grill and got it to work. So I read the book on the grill and also on the composter. I know some things to do on the grill. I need to move the composter from where it is in the shade to a sunny spot.
Saturday, I took some time to read in the morning. I was thrilled to have Lysol wipes come in my regular monthly Amazon order. I only get them about once every 3-4 months now but at least I get them. Berls and I had a final conversation about our buddy read which was a huge success for us both. The weather has still been really nice for this time of year. Tuesday it’s supposed to rain and then the highs will drop 20 degrees to about 50F (10C) and freezing at night. I haven’t done any sale shopping but my daughter got jewelry supply orders at both Michaels and Joanns.
Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality. These are the exciting ARCs I received this week (If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry):
NOTHING.
(If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry)
I got deals from Chirp – $3.99, $0.99, and $2.99.
Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.
I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.
I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.
I’m thankful we have what we need and can stay home. What are you thankful for?
Also be sure and check out the Top 10 post!

Wow, you are so organized. I’m glad you go so much done. I hope you enjoy your week.
It felt really good to get ahead on a few blog things for next year. I think it is the most prepared I have been for an upcoming year but also I’ve been blogging a long time now.
Pizza for Thanksgiving sounds kind of good! 🙂 We had the traditional fare with lots of leftovers.
The armoire looks great! I wish I had something to organize my jewelry, maybe one of these days it will be important enough to get to the top of my to do list. Have a great week, Anne!
The armoire did turn out great and it’s a big hobby of hers so it’s good. The piece itself was only $25 but all the moving costs were another $200 so if you have help it could be very reasonable. She already had all the hanging jewelry storage, just no extra room in her closet.
It was easy for when she got up so late. I had something else planned but we could just have it the next day.
I know what you mean… Himself works different shifts, which change every week, so that keeping to my own routine can be somehting of a challenge – I’ll tweak my eating times so that we eat together, but I don’t massively alter them. It’s bad enough that his eating and sleeping patterns are absolutely trashed… Another busy, productive week for you – I hope this coming week is a good one for you, Anne:)
Thank you Sarah! I’m trying to get onto some other tasks but I’ve been focused more on getting blog stuff all organized in advance and to get that out of my head into reality. I did try to relax more this last holiday week and read more. Now back to some chores.
It sounds like a nice week at home. 🙂
Well every week is a nice week at home this year!
Love the banner! 🙂
I am planning to do a garden next year, I miss fresh tomatoes from the vine.
I am so glad you and berls enjoyed your book!
I will see you at book club later! Have a great week and Happy Reading!
Thank you Michelle! I really like the banner. Great to see you all at book club. I’ve been having good luck with my reading lately.
I LOVE the armoire. Looks beautiful. Why not having pizza for Thanksgiving? We live in unprecedented times, so why not have a change in our meals for special days? I wish I had your energy to accomplish so many things. Here things are piling up and I am glad at the end of the day when I at least was able to vacuum my floors.
Thank you Vi! My energy goes up and down, partly depends on how I sleep and how much I really want to accomplish something. But I’ve been wanting to get my blog stuff all setup for 2021 so that’s what I’ve been doing. Vacuuming needs to get to the top of the list soon.
Looks like you had a good filled week here. Hope your thanksgiving was a good one. I just love doing buddy reads, they are so much fun right? And look at all those freebies, I always have a blast with KA Linde whenever I read her. Hope you do as well.
Thank you Renee. It was a week where I took a break from chores to do more reading and blog planning setup which I enjoy more. This week back to work on chores.
I so enjoyed our chats this week! We’ll have to be sure to do some buddy reading next year too ?
Sounds like your mom is doing well? Is she negative for COVID now? I may have missed that in a previous post, I hope so! I’m sure it would make you feel better if she were closer to either you or your brother.
Such a productive week! I hope you have another great week ahead.
YES! We had a really good buddy read and chats about the books. We will definitely have to plan some for next year. I’ll message you some ideas. I’m always trying to read stuff I already own. Yes she is negative now. I’m just ready to start the research phase for here. My brother has already picked on for FL.
Hard decisions when it comes to the care of elderly parents. I hope you and your brother can decide what’s best for all. Pizza for Thanksgiving sounds pretty perfect. 🙂 I never say no to pizza. I see you got Block Shot as one of your freebies. I really loved that one (and the whole series). Kennedy Ryan is a real favorite.
Yes lots of research and mulling over different factors in the next week or so. It was an easy thing since she didn’t get up until so late. Kennedy Ryan is just a beautiful person. I was fortunate to meet her at Book Bonanza last year.
I’d prefer pizza to Turkey too 🙂
Seems like you had a productive week as always.
Wishing you a great reading week
Thank you Shelleyrae. We go with what works here. I usually make new stuff at night and leftovers for lunch. Right now there is an abundance of leftovers so we might have to eat some of those one night. I am having a really good reading week because I’ve been relaxing instead of tackling some chores last weekend.
Oh, wow—you and your daughter are really on opposite schedules! Guess you haven’t been able to do many crafts together lately, which I know you both enjoy. Hopefully you’ll even out again. 🙂
Yes the different schedules are really hard. After she’s up she may want to do something but I’ve been up 12 or so hours and I’m starting to wind down. She tells me she sleeps well but has trouble getting to sleep. (I might have trouble getting to sleep if I slept 12 hours a day too.) I hope she gets turned around.
Pizza is always a good choice, lol! We had turkey, but my family loves it and we only usually have it once a year. I’ll have to check out your Top Tens. 🙂
Thanks Rachel. There is nothing wrong with pizza. I like turkey but she doesn’t really. I hope to see you on the Top 10s.
The jewelry hangers look great! Glad you and Berls enjoyed your buddy read and discussions! Thats awesome. I’m so jealous you got your hands on lysol wipes. I can’t get them anywhere!
I really enjoyed my buddy read with Berls. We have some similar tastes in genres which helps. The nice thing about the armoire is it is big enough to give her some extra room to grow. I am a big consumer of Lysol wipes so it has been on my monthly order for 3-4 years. So they are giving some priority to people who were regular buyers before the pandemic.
Lately, I’ve been a tad envious of your good days to get outside and get stuff done, but we had a mild sunny day today so I was able to work outside getting our Christmas lights and greenery up and a last painted board done to replace one that rotted on the garage. Bummer you couldn’t get that new BBQ grill tank on, but glad you were able to study up on the grill and composter. I like to plan my meals like I do the rest of my day so I don’t blame you for opting to eat and let her have hers when she’s ready. Hope you can work out just the right thing for your mom- tough decision. Fun that you got to talk about your buddy book with Berls.
I love the festive new blog banner.
Have a great week, Anne!
Thank you Sophia! One reason I chose to move to NC 5 years ago where I knew almost no one was for the weather. Of course there are many other reasons. It is much closer to my brother and a bunch of other things. Anyway, now I’ll be researching options for Mom along with my brother. Berls and I had some amazing discussions about these books. It helps we both really liked the books. Michelle did a great job turning my vague bumblings into a banner. Have a lovely week!
Oh wow, your daughter is really on an opposite schedule! It would be hard to make a decision about your mother. My mother in law changed facilities a few months ago which was a bit more challenging because of the current crisis. It sounds like you got a lot done this week. I missed a couple of freebies you listed but was able to grab them after seeing your post. Have a great week, Anne!
Yes I’d like to get my daughter on a little more ordinary schedule. Sometimes she does and sometimes not. I had a good week last week because I chose to relax a bit, read and blog ahead. This week I have to get back to chores. It will take a bit to figure out the best options for Mom. I’m glad you were able to get the freebies!
It’s nice to read the things you and your daughter do together. Happy reading this week!
Thank you Laura! I hope she can turn around her sleep schedule so we can fit in more together.
I’m not a fan of turkey either but my husband loves it. I had a hard time tracking down a single turkey dinner at a restaurant (everyone was selling family feasts) but I finally found one at Denny’s. I picked that up and a slice of turkey pie for him on Wednesday and we just reheated it on Thursday. He said it was really good. I’m happy stuffing myself on my mom’s sausage balls on Thanksgiving, so I made a batch of those and I was happy.
Enjoy your week!
Well I like turkey but I don’t have to have it every time. I usually do turkey breast since nobody likes dark meat. I’m glad you found a way to work your meal.
Many nice books for you this week! Happy reading!
For some reason there were a LOT of freebies and I try to be so picky.
Look at all those freebies! You’ve got some good ones, Anne, and I see a few I grabbed as well (love the Crystal Lake series franchise).
That jewelry armoire is gorgeous! Glad you were able to take advantage of the good weather. Have a wonderful week, Anne?
Thank you Jonetta! I like that she has some room to expand in the armoire although she already has a ton of jewelry. There were a LOT of good freebies this week even though I try to be very selective.
I also prefer pizza. LOL That or tacos! You had another busy week. I hope to get some things done this week. Had to work long hours last week and didn’t get much done. The decorating is my priority right now:)
I like both turkey and pizza. It seems like a busy week but I was really relaxing and reading a lot more than usual. I let my daughter decorate.
It sounds like you had a really productive week! Conversations about elder parents are so hard! I’m sure you will be able to come up with something for your mom. Honestly our thanksgiving meal was just okay. I always love it for the one meal but all the leftovers are too much! Pizza might have been better! Lol.
Your freebie haul is amazing! And I really liked Dark Witch by Nora Roberts.
I hope you have a great week!!
Thank you Stephanie! It was a good holiday and I took some time to relax. Now this week I have to get back to work on things.
You have been super busy! That armoire is fantastic, I have too much jewellery but I work for a jewellery company so I’ve no hope!
Hope you have a great week.
I like to always have some things to do. I hope the armoire will last her for awhile. My daughter might like that work.
