The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly  @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week, and showcase books and things we have received.

Stacking The Shelves is also a weekly meme hosted by  Tynga’s Reviews and Marlene from Reading Reality.  It’s all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!

Don’t forget to look at my giveaways on the right sidebar.

Sunday, I was bad and stayed up too late reading so then I slept late.  I also had a bit more pain, maybe because I slept less or tried to do more yesterday.  My Mom called for the first time from her new home and we talked a bit. She is getting new hearing aids since they couldn’t adjust the old ones to work well enough.  I settled into my buddy read after perusing my Audible library and Goodreads for series I might do for the COYER ReadASeriesinaMonth RAT in March.  I’ve got about 437 possibilities and need to narrow it down.

Monday, I had an Aldi Instacart. I had the usual 3 sections of the day.  We had broiled salmon over minestrone from the neighborhood chef.  Tuesday was more of the same. I worked on some paperwork for our health insurance.  I made another batch of food for Lulu,  made a set of food for my daughter, and apple crisp.   Neither my daughter or I were having a good day, but at least we got to bed early.  She has decided with her health issues to drop one class, which I understand, but it makes me sad.

Wednesday was a better day for pain.  But I also took it very easy both Tues/Wed.   I worked on my blog stuff.  In responding to comments on yesterday’s post I was excited to see a comment from the author! She had retweeted the review also.   The author for the review I posted Saturday also retweeted my review and liked it on Goodreads.  So I’m happy to have them knowing how much I am enjoying their work.  We had neighborhood chef Shrimp stir-fry for dinner.

Thursday,  WHAT is going on?  The author of the audio I reviewed today also retweeted and commented on my blog! That’s three authors in one week and normally I wouldn’t have that kind of thing happen maybe a couple times a year.    The chiro office called to say the doc is out but we can still get massage.  So we were each able to get a longer massage as there were some cancellations.  Good thing as both of us were not having a good pain day.  After the massage, I really felt good. I was able to go upstairs again to do a few things and cook a good dinner for us.

Friday, I had a restless night with some pain but it wasn’t too bad when I got up.  I had a BJ’s Instacart and they got all my items.  I managed to do some chores which felt good.  I also figured out how to get Lulu into her waterproof coat and clean her feet without hurting myself.  I had her get up on the sofa to put on the coat and then when she came in I had the towel on the sofa and I had her get up again where I could wipe her feet and take off the coat.  Yay no bending down and intense pain!  I need to move more but in gentle ways.

Saturday, I stayed in bed to read later and finish my book.  I worked my series list for the March RAT to narrow it down to about 6 series.  I am considering whether to read audio or ebook,  books I own or ones from the library.  I finished up a review and got organized a bit for next week.  It’s been raining and it’s going to be raining most of the week.  I wouldn’t mind except Lulu doesn’t like to go outside in it.  The yard has huge puddles.

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality.  These are the exciting ARCs I received this week (If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry):

I am so grateful to Tor for my new ARCs!

Thanks so much to Harper audio for these lovely March releases.

So many thanks to Berkley!

(If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry)

I couldn’t resist this Audible Daily deal for $3.95, especially since I can’t get the Kindle version at the library.  And I picked up my free First reads from Prime.

I bought a few audio books for $5 each in the Audible sale.

Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.

I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT  they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.

I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.

Happy Valentine’s Day!  Wishing you love of all shapes sizes, colors, cultures and types.  Love is Love.

Anne

  1. Oh hello that is great news! Congrats. Does not happen often that a author shares your review post or mentions it somewhere else. To be honest: I envy you right now! *smile* On the other hand I feel sorry that you have still to deal with your back pain. And I hope that you will feel better soon. Stay safe and happy reading and happy listening.

  2. Happy Valentines to you, your daughter, and Lulu. I hope you find a way for some gentle movement and start to experience less pain. Yea, hearing from your mom. Did she get the vaccine before she moved or is she waiting now in her new place? I hope she enjoys her new home.

My week was about the same as it has been. We keep getting snow, and it’s cold. We haven’t had a winter like this in a few years. I’ve found a few ways to exercise inside and change up my routine, so that is good. I did some interval training last Friday and I’m sore now, in a good way. Too bad I keep eating so many sweets, tho.

  3. Sounds like you’re staying on top of the supply orders and the meals which is quite amazing with the back trouble. Glad you got to talk with your mom. Hope your daughter feels better soon so she can pick up that class at the next term. Good plan to get Lulu up higher for the outside prep and clean up.
Nice haul you caught in the sales. I’m still debating on a couple, but I just got a few at Chirp so I should probably hold off.

Happy Valentine’s Day and have a good week, Anne!

    • I feel a little better being able to do a bit more. I just have to be smart about things like getting Lulu to help. I try to not buy anything I can get at the library. Have a great week Sophia!

    • Thanks, Nicole. I’m really trying to move forward and make choices that give me small improvements. I really hope if we get some of my daughter’s issues solved she will be able to do more.

  4. Sorry you’re still dealing with the pain. That sucks. And all my NC friends are commenting on the relentless rain there! Sounds like its gonna rain more Monday as well. Stay afloat!
Calleigh (my dog) won’t go out in the rain. She just looks at me like I have someone personally offended her. Then she pees on the floor.

    • I just have to keep to the gradual improvements but I’ve never had anything happen which lasts so long. Yes it is raining and puddles everywhere. I don’t remember it being this way other years. Lulu is not happy about the rain.

  5. Yes, Happy Valentine’s Day!

LOL at your 400+ series. Picking a series for the challenge is always a trick for me too. Michelle and I are buddy reading a duology this time.

I’m sorry you’re still having so much pain – glad you were able to get a good massage in. And your daughter too 🙁 I’m sorry she had to drop a class, but it’s best to know your limits, right?

I hope you have a great week!

    • Thanks Berls. I have to just keep trying to get a little better, a little more movement. The massage really helped so I would like to get more. Yes I hope we will figure out how to help her issues so she can do whatever she wants to do.

I think I don’t want a series that is fantasy because that is the book club genre. It should be a genre I love the most since that would fit the RAT at the end of the month also. I don’t want anything more than 3 or 4 books to read. I should read something I own but I’m leaning to a Baldacci thriller series of 4 books where I have read the first one easily and really enjoyed it.

  6. I love that several authors retweeted your reviews this week! It’s always exciting when that happens.

I have been resisting becoming an Audible member because we have enough subscriptions as it is. So I buy my Audible books through Amazon (when I buy them at all; a lot of my audibooks I just borrow from the library.) But I do wish I had access to the Audible Daily Deals! You don’t get those unless you have a membership. I signed up for Chirp and Libro.fm, so I sometimes get good audiobook deals there. Now if I could just make more time to listen to them!

  7. How great to have so much author recognition this week! That never gets old. 🙂 I love seeing The Coppersmith Farmhouse. It was the first I read by Devney Perry and I really enjoyed it.

  8. Oh what a treat that the authors came back to you and told you how much they liked your reviews:)). It’s lovely when that happens… And I’m glad the massage gave you such ease and you’ve found a way of seeing to Lulu without being in agony! I hope the coming week is a kinder, pain-free one, Anne:)).

  9. Sorry to hear you’re still having pain issues! I hope you’re able to work through it and be pain free soon!

I got a copy of A Stitch in Time with that Audible Daily Deal, too. I’m looking forward to the new Karen Rose as well!

  10. Yay for author recognition! That is so neat, Anne. I am sorry to hear your daughter had to drop a class, but it sounds like it was for the best. It is good she knows her limitations. Hopefully she can pick the class up again later to complete.

Your new books all sound good! I really want to read Talia Hibbert’s books. The Kelley Armstrong book and the Kinsey book have such lovely covers. I would like to read both of those too!

I hope you have a great week, Anne, and may your pain be less.

    • Thank you Wendy. It’s nice to know they see it and for them to know I enjoy their work. I really do get some awesome books. More movement but careful movement seems to be working better than trying not to move at all. So far.

    • Thanks Carole! Pain free is not happening but much reduced pain feels pretty good I’m going to try to read A Stitch in Time for the COYER Outside the Box RAT in March. It is horror and time travel which I don’t like either of those but I do like Kelley Armstrong.
