The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly  @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week, and showcase books and things we have received.

Stacking The Shelves is also a weekly meme hosted by  Tynga’s Reviews and Marlene from Reading Reality.  It’s all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!

Don’t forget to look at my giveaways on the right sidebar.

Sunday,  it’s going to be a great week with mostly sun and moderate temperatures.  My daughter was up early and feeling good so we did the small errands I needed. Luckily, it wasn’t too busy anywhere.  She even took Lulu for a walk to the neighborhood park.  She’s already enjoying her spring break.   I ran task manager to see than my RAM and hard drive stats were both fairly high and even CPU sometimes.  I researched options for a new laptop. I decided I needed to redo my Goodreads shelves in the mystery classifications.  I got some more chores done and stayed up too late reading.

Monday,  another gorgeous day with sun.  I chatted again with my brother about the computer situation and purchased a new laptop which should arrive Friday.  I wrote reviews, and setup reviews.  I made another batch of Lulu food. Lulu was determined to help my daughter knit the new blanket for the sofa! I was hurting so I went to bed early.  I was able to sleep 7 hours, and then another 3 hours.

Tuesday, with a good night’s sleep and a gorgeous day I got up feeling pretty good with very little pain.  I researched places nearby where we might get a COVID vaccine.  I picked broccoli from the garden.  Another night of hurting after dinner, so I laid down, and slept 7 hours!

Wednesday I got an Aldi Instacart.  My daughter and I were both up mid morning.  My Amazon orders came today, even my new computer which wasn’t supposed to be here until Friday.  I’m not ready.  I have to plan everything and how I will move it. But I have my computer notebook with notes on how I have done every change to my computers since 2008.  So at least I can follow my notes from the last time.  I did watch the first 2 episodes of SWAT which I’ve wanted to see for 4 years.  I have a good start on Lulu’s next sweater.  It turned into a bad pain night with interrupted sleep.

Thursday, I dreaded the pain and didn’t want to get up.  But it wasn’t too bad so I proceeded with my plans for the day.  We got our next pharmacy pickup and a quick stop at Dollar Tree for essentials like dog poop bags.  Then we had our chiro/ massage appointments.  They tested out my hip muscles and determined it is not the anterior or lateral hip muscles, it is the posterior hip muscles hurting me.  So it is not IT band but they are saying hip rotator.  They gave me a new exercise which is somewhat similar to the one I have been doing which helps some.  I also sent a message to my PCP to see if she has any further info.  12 weeks now.

Friday,  last night the state sent a message that my group can get vaccines March 17, rather than the 24th.  So I looked into more info on the Internet on where to sign up. I talked to a new FEMA clinic and they said to check for appts Monday. We have been looking for the second mesh bag I purchased for my daughter’s laundry basket for more than a year. Yesterday, we bought another one at Dollar Tree. Today, I found the one I purchased in 2019. Of course.  I wanted to do a lot today and made 3 trips up and down the stairs but I paid for it in pain.  I ordered a new USB external CD/DVD writer for my new laptop.  I got out my old one, which I haven’t used anytime recently, the box says it was compatible with Windows 98.  So yes I needed a new one.   We got a neighborhood chef dinner of scallops with pesto risotto. Yummy.

Saturday, I stayed in bed a bit to read this morning.  Once I got to the office, I did the usual computer stuff and then went to check on COVID clinics.  FEMA had just opened up appt scheduling for Mar 13-24.  I called because I wanted us in the same car to be scheduled together.  I got our appt for a Pfizer vaccine on March 17th!!!!   So that’s organized. YAY.  I set up a bunch of posts.  I rearranged the work room without hurting myself and I’m happy with it.   Tomorrow my ex arrives to visit which is good and bad.  With the two of us having so much trouble, he will be able to help us.  And I want to get my garden planted before the end of March.

How do I do it?

If you read a book utilizing both ebook and audio, how do you record it in Goodreads?  I don’t want to put read for both books because then it shows as 2 books instead of 1 book.   Suggestions or recommendations?  I suppose I could make another exclusive shelf now that I know how to use that feature.

If you have any tips for me, please comment.

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality.  These are the exciting ARCs I received this week (If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry):

Many thanks to St. Martin’s Press,   Macmillan-Tor/Forge, Harlequin Audio.

(If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry)

I managed to find 2 at the Audible 2-1 Credit sale.

Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.

I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT  they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.

I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.

  1. Yay for that vaccine appointment! So excited for you.

Here’s how you indicate two different editions of the same book into one record, at least it’s how I do it. Shelve the first one and use the “I own a copy of this book” option. Use the private notes section to indicate you own the eBook/audiobook and the source. Next, pull up the list of all editions and switch to the other edition you own. It will take you back to the book page. Edit your My Books section and use the “I own a copy of this book” option again. You can then add the same book. I’d also note the info in the personal notes section. It works like a charm. I switch to the edition I end up using before I add my review.

Thanks for my Lulu fix! Enjoy your reading. I got Tell Me No Lies, too. Have a great week, Anne?

    • Thanks for the info on Goodreads. It’s hard to know exactly how I want to handle some things. Another one I am reviewing this Tuesday, I actually read both ebook and Audio separately so I am including both.

I’m so glad to have the vaccine scheduled so we can get on to other things. My brother has a FEMA site only 3 miles from his house. We’re going to Greensboro as the only one in NC.

  2. Hi! Glad you got the vaccine appointment for this week. We are still waiting our turns. Good luck with the new laptop and hope you’re feeling better. With Spring around the corner I can’t wait to start gardening again too.

Happy reading this week and hi to Lulu 🙂

    • Thank you. I’m glad to have it in progress. It’s great to get it the first day we are eligible. I have done nothing with the computer yet. I did read my notes on the last round, but I have to clear up space to set it up next to my current one for the process

  3. I’m so glad you and your daughter have an appointment for the vaccine! I hope the new PT exercises help with the pain. And congrats on the new laptop.

There’s another Murderbot book already? I haven’t started the series yet; pretty soon it will be so long as to be daunting.

  4. Glad you were able to get some sleep, and lulu is so adorable. I’ve took some rest this week here and there, sleeping in till 6am and it’s been a blessing.

  5. St. Patrick’s Day vaccine is so perfect- IE the weird old tradition that you are supposed to wear green on St. Patrick’s Day or someone can pinch you- So for your appt, don’t wear green and get that pinch of the vaccine! I’m happy to read that you had a low pain week! More of this! 🙂

  6. Yay for a few good days and them narrowing down the pain trouble. Woohoo on getting your vaccine appointment. Hopefully the new laptop will set up like a breeze for you.
Nice haul! I can’t wait for the Darynda Jones and the Martha Wells

    Have a good week, Anne!

    • Thank you so much Sophia! I really want to get some stuff finished and move forward. I haven’t even started on the new laptop. I want to think it through and do it right. Happy reading ! I haven’t forgotten about our buddy read but my audio reading has been slooooooow.

  7. Jen

Yea for the vaccine appointment! I’ll be able to register starting March 22nd. Sorry to hear that your pain is still persisting. Hopefully this time they’ve figured it out.

As for Goodreads – when I partially read and partially listen to a book I tend to record it as whatever medium I use most – for example, if I read 70% on ereader, then I’ll record it as a book I read, rather than the audiobook. It also can depend on which way I start it and if I have one version for a review.

  8. Im envious that your vaccine roll out is happening so quickly, at last guesstimate it will be 2022 before I’ll get mine.
I hope the new PT exercises help, and it seems like you are sleeping better which is good news!
Setting up a new computer is such a chore but it sounds like you have a system that works.

Wishing you a great reading week

    • Thank you! I just keep working on things. I didn’t expect we could get vaccinated until summer at the earliest. But President Biden has worked to get more vaccines and try to open it to everyone by May 1. Also I made an effort to get an appt and kept looking every day. The new FEMA sites are doing a large volume so even though it is a drive we are doing it.

  9. I stopped participating in Goodreads Reading Challenges because of how they count the books! If you accidentally click to open a Kindle and then switch to a print volume, they record two books!

So I only go there to post my reviews, but don’t count on using them to keep track of my books read.

Enjoy your week, and good news about your vaccine!

    Thanks for visiting my blog.

  10. Yay for getting your vaccine scheduled! I’m so happy for you! I got Pfizer too, and it’s such a relief even after just the first dose, because you have great protection after the 7th day (I think, can’t remember now)? Hope your ex is able to provide support for you and your daughter and that your visit goes smoothly.

I just started reading Tell No Lies and I’m enjoying it so far, but that’s no surprise as I love Allison Brennan. Nice that you got an audio copy! Hope we both love it, Anne! 🙂

  11. You sound so busy and productive and I feel like I’m a slug. And I can’t believe you STILL have broccoli! That’s so wild. lol I was out yesterday cleaning out some beds/planters and burning the brush pile. Supposed to rain this week, so probably not much going to get done outside. That’s ok. I have plenty of reviews to write and I also need to set up my computer.

As soon as you said you bought a new bag I just *knew* you’d find the other one. LOL Congrats on the vaccine appt! My hubby could get one now that group 4 is open since he has diabetes, but the rest of us have to wait for group 5.

I hope you have a pain-free productive week!

    • Thank you Carol! The broccoli doesn’t seem to mind the snow even. I planted really late this year like November so we didn’t get any crowns until February, last year when I planted in October, we had broccoli to eat in November and January. I’m planting spring broccoli this year too. My daughter would like the whole yard planted in broccoli. But then where would Lulu run? I have my ex here helping out since I’m having the pain thing.

I was shocked we found it ONE DAY after we bought one as I’d been looking a year. But it’s part of the – I go in phases – of working on outdoor and indoor projects since we moved here. I was totally on outdoor stuff, planning to do indoor right after Christmas and then I got hurt. But I found it when I did a little reorg in the office/craft room.

I kept looking for places to get the vaccine, some places took people on wait list for leftovers. But they’ve kept moving up the eligibility dates. So I’m happy to get started.

  12. So sorry that you’re still dealing with so much pain, but at least they are pinpointing the source/cause. So happy for you that your vaccination is scheduled for this week! What a relief. I had the Moderna vaccine vaccine had zero issues other than a sore arm for a few days. I hope it’s the same for you (minus the sore arm, of course).

  13. Your question is hard. I don’t usually skip back and forth. I have listened while reading along but did both from beginning to end. It is rare. Usually if I do both audio and book, one is a re-read so I count as 2xs.

  14. I am glad your daughter is enjoying spring break. 🙂 My daughter’s is coming up this week. I’m going to take a blogging break and have the week off from work. I hope you like your new laptop! I had to get one a few months ago and like mine. It’s serving me well. Yay for getting your first vaccine! I hope your appointment went well yesterday. I hope you are enjoying your reading and having a great week, Anne!

    • Thank Wendy. I haven’t even looked at the new laptop. I had no issues with the vaccine. I’m just tired this week as my sleep is still wonky. But the hip stretches are really helping to reduce the pain. I’m reading some excellent books.
