Everyone said that Lupe Martínez was a good kid. She listened to her mom, she helped at the homeless shelter, she got good grades, and she had a bright future ahead of her.
Until she disappeared.
Now no one knows what to think. The police are sure she ran away; her mother is sure she didn’t. Days have passed and no one knows what to do until her family priest suggests they call in an old friend.
A very old friend.
Carwyn ap Bryn and Brigid Connor are two elemental vampires finding the lost, righting wrongs, and searching for meaning in the endless stretch of immortality they've been granted.
And trying not to blow things up, but that might be more aspirational.

The main characters of this new Elemental Covenant series, Carwyn and Brigid, were the romance in the first book of the Elemental World series, Building from AshesElemental World series is a spinoff from Elemental Mysteries series.  So this new series is a spinoff of the spinoff.

In Building from Ashes, I loved Carwyn, but wasn’t sold on Brigid. I still love Carwyn and Brigid is growing on me.   I enjoyed their dynamic and how they protect and support each other. We get glimpses of other favorite characters from the world.

It looks like this new series, will feature the couple helping people who need it desperately, kind of like an Equalizer gig and I love that!  The mystery / action plot is based around a very current topic of immigration in southern California, tying in with for profit detention. The pace was fairly fast and exciting with suspense for the welfare of children.

I really enjoy these paranormal mystery stories with plenty of plot, investigations and action rather than only a romance plot. There is a bit of paranormal / vampire politics and world-building.  I am very much looking forward to more of these adventures which are inspiring.
