The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week, and showcase books and things we have received.
Stacking The Shelves is also a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Marlene from Reading Reality. It’s all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!

Sunday was not too bad with pain (3) and busy with blog visiting and the Facebook chat for Mine to Possess. I was so happy to have the elusive KC join us since it was her review. I was also ordering a few deals from the Gluten free festival (online) which ended today. My ex has been busy with putting in the new furnace filters, making the pantry doors slide easily, cleaning out the gutters, taking down the outside Christmas lights, and picking up lawn / garden supplies. I made breakfast for dinner with bacon, and blueberry pancakes.
Monday was also a good pain (1-2) morning. I feel like I don’t do anything these days. But within an hour I fed Lulu and took her out, unloaded and reloaded the dishwasher, hand washed a few dishes, started a load of towels in the washer, got out chicken thighs to thaw for making Lulu’s food, trimmed all Lulu’s toenails, washed a bunch of plastic hangers we got through the Buy Nothing FB group, unloaded / sanitized and put away an Aldi Instacart order, and moved the towels to the dryer. I had a lot of computer stuff to do this afternoon. The ex got the flower / herb garden weeded, turned over and added our compost. He also got the compost set up in its new sunny spot between gardens. I was able to manage dinner grilling chicken and veggie kebobs with peppers, onions, mushrooms and pineapple. My daughter got a perfect score on her history test.
Tuesday was another (1-2) pain morning. I had reviews to write. It was drizzly so not much outside happened. Wednesday was also a pretty good (1-2) pain morning but it took me 2 hours to fall asleep last night so it was 3 am. My stretches and management are working as long as I still limit moving around too much. I did more email cleanup. My ex fertilized the camelia, gardenia and rhododendrons, and the shrub rose. The he went to get the Walmart pickup order. I edited and scheduled more blog posts. Our first order of frozen raviolis from the gluten free festival arrived. I was also notified I won one of the giveaways I entered and will be receiving 2 mixes (~ $9 each). I got to choose and picked Chocolate Cake & Cupcake Mix and Pancake & Waffle Mix.
Thursday was mostly taken up with our chiro and massage appts. The pain is definitely at a lower level. It’s also less often hip pain and now is sort of lower because I know how to stretch to put a stop to the hip pain. It’s also more my hamstrings instead of my hip. I’m in a MOOD about reading so last week I had all of this week ready to go and this week I have nothing read for next week. Sigh.
Friday, I didn’t get up quickly as it was rainy. My daughter had some trouble with her computer last night. We called the protection support plan we had. Their first option was to wipe the drive and start from scratch and when they couldn’t get that going (they think it’s a virus of some sort where it freezes as soon as it boots up), then they want us to send it in which takes 10 days minimum. She uses this for school. The computer is just 2 years old. She uses it for school. She also has my 10 year old laptop which she uses for email, searches, etc mostly like an auxillary set of Windows. She can do schoolwork on that but it is slower. I’m going to have to work on it myself, and I haven’t even had time to set up my new computer yet. I fixed a great dinner but then hurt too much to eat it. That’s the first time this week though. It took a few hours since the pain (5-8) now is in a different place and I don’t know a stretch to relax it right away. I did get my reading back on track today.
Saturday, the rain waited until after 5pm and it was pretty nice for most of the day. I woke at a (1-3) but hurt after coming upstairs for awhile (5). I did a bunch of computer work and prepped to work on her computer. Overall a better pain week and I’m looking forward to book club tomorrow, even though I may not finish Addie Larue yet tonight.
Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality. These are the exciting ARCs I received this week (If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry):
Many grateful thanks to Brilliance Audio for so many things I want to read upcoming.
(If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry)
NOTHING.
Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.
I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.
I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.
Anne
Congrats on your gluten free win! Its too bad you can’t just take her computer in to a local place to have it fixed. I would be lost without mine for 10 days. Have a good week and I hope your pain levels stay low.
Thanks Tammy! I’m trying some things before I send it. I have enough experience. If I can’t get it to work or reformat, it will have to go but she can use my old one in the interim.
wow, that hair!i’ve been thinking of dying my blonde as blondes have more fun. lol. i like being a redhead though..Hope you find some fast remedies
Thank you. My daughter has gorgeous hair.
That’s a bummer about your daughter’s computer! There isn’t anywhere local you can take it for repairs instead of shipping it off? That sucks! My mom said other parts of her leg would hurt as she adjusted to the hip pain. Because she was altering her gait and such to accommodate and alleviate the hip pain, other muscles/joints were affected. Hopefully your pain is short lived and just an adjustment!
Thanks Samantha. Well the contract is for phone tech support or to send it in for repair. I have things I can try first. Luckily she can use my old one in the meantime. Well it feels like progress this week; we will see if it continues.
Love your header! Hope you are not having too bad of pain today. Have a good week!
Thank you Lisa! Thanks for visiting. It’s a much improved pain week so hopefully it will continue to get better.
Congrats to your daughter on her test result but bummer about her computer, good luck with the fix
Glad to here your pain is more manageable.
Wishing you a great reading week
Thank you. We are working on the computer but we aren’t there yet.
Your ex seems to be helping out a lot! That’s great! Hope your pain improves. Wow, your daughter’s hair is so long! Hope you get her computer sorted out. What a pain.
Yes he comes to be able to spend time with my daughter and when she is sleeping he helps with all the house stuff. Plus I am the one who deals with her issues 90% of the time so it’s his way of pitching in. All of our hair is long but once we are vaccinated maybe we will get a trim. We are still working on her computer.
Sounds like you had a good and mostly manageable week. And you still have such great reads to keep you company. Love the cover for Land Rites and it immediately creates an atmosphere for just the type of books I love.
Good luck with your upcoming week!
Elza Reads
Thank you! I feel lucky to get the books I really enjoy.
It’s wonderful that your pain levels were low this week. You sure got a lot done. Love the hair!
Thanks Laura. It does feel like an improvement but I’m restricting my movement a lot. I’m only supervising.
Glad you’ve had a few good pain days at least. Hope you get more!
Thank you Nicole. As long as I restrict movement, it isn’t too bad these days.
Neat that you are getting a bit done at a time and making some delicious food for you all and Lulu. I was working out in my garden and beds this week cleaning out winter dead and blown in dry leaves. I got my cool soil early spring veggies planted and they are popping up already. Bummer about her computer and hopefully you can get it going for her. Great job on the A to her. LOL, glad that moody reading stuff is moving on for you. I hate that feeling and just when you felt you could read ahead a bit.
Have a good week!
Thank you Sophia! I’m supervising the projects, since I’m limiting my movements a lot. The reading is going better this week. I’ve made some progress on the computer but I have more to do.
Pain and computer issues…the worst! I hope both are managed successfully soon.
Your book titles and covers are tempting. Enjoy! Thanks for sharing, and for visiting my blog.
Thank you! Both are things to work. For the pain, I have to restrict moving. I’m progressing on the computer but it’s not solved.
It’s hard to say no to free books! Such pretty hair. I cut mine shoulder length in December and I really miss it.
Happy reading this week and I hope the pain is better.
Thank you. I think her hair is lovely too We both could use a trim once we are vaccinated though. I’ve got some really great freebies over the years.
Many intriguing books for you this week. Have a good week and happy reading!
Thank you! I always think I am lucky to get the best books for me.
I’m super jealous you got the new Robert Dugoni book. I love that series. I’m also really sorry you are still in so much pain. I wish there was more they could do to help you. It’s nice that your ex comes and does all that for you!
Thank you Lorna. He is helping out since with my injury and my daughter’s regular issues we are both rotten at some things right now. I always think I get the best books, but I am also a huge fan of Robert Dugoni.
Yea for lower pain this week! I’m glad the stretching and exercises are helping. I hope the pain continues to stay lower. I had a pretty good week last week. My weekend was so much fun – did dinner out (via an outdoor pod) for 2 friends’ birthdays and an online virtual escape room for another friend on Saturday.
Thank you Jen. It’s still helpful to minimize my movements too. Well standing is the problem now for longer time periods. I’m thrilled you had a great weekend.
Psy-Changeling book club was so fun! Your daughter’s hair is gorgeous! I hope the computer prob is easily remedied. I belong to a buy nothing FB group too. (one of the three reasons I still have FB) I usually forget to check and miss what is being given away, so I’m more just giving away my own decent stuff – which is great! Less stress than a garage sale! I hope you have a good week, your freebies look so fun!
Yes I am loving both the FB chats and the COYER book clubs. Yes, she does have lovely hair. We both need a trim once we are vaccinated. I belong to our neighborhood’s buy nothing group and if I ever get over this injury I’ll put stuff up. I’ve got a box of things I’m collecting for it. But I’m not making extra movements right now.
Those are some great audio choices, Anne! One of these days I’ll start that Dugoni series.
I’m sorry you’re still experiencing pain. Here’s hoping it’s at a low level this week?
The Tracey Crosswhite series is an absolute favorite series from Dugoni. I can’t recommend it highly enough. Well the pain has changed. I have no hip pain (which I know the stretch to relieve it quickly) but now it is the back of my things, hamstrings, and I don’t know what to do for it.
Glad to hear it was such a better week with the pain. It’s been a long time. So frustrating about your daughter’s computer. Being without for 10 days is pretty inconvenient, even with the backup. Hopefully it won’t come to that.
Thanks Tanya. We just work on what we can. Luckily we have backup computers. I have been able to have a lot less pain this week as long as I don’t stand too long.
I am so sorry that you are still dealing with this pain. I am glad that your ex has stepped up to do some things around the house for you. What a bummer about your daughter’s computer! I hope that you are having a great week!
Thanks Carole. It is a help to have my ex get the key things done like some cleaning and gardening I just can’t handle. My hip no longer hurts after doing that stretch, now it is the back of my thighs, the hamstrings. But it is both of them instead of just the right hip and I don’t have any immediate stretch position that relieves the pain like I did with the hip pain In general it’s better and I’m definitely sleeping better.
Glad things are generally better pain-wise even if you still have days that slide backwards. It’s awesome that your ex has been able to help with lots of tasks! At least you don’t have those piling up on you while you try to recover.
Fingers crossed you manage to make some progress on the laptop front! These things are usually always fixable (unless it’s hardware) but, as you say, it’s time to work through it. 🙁
Thanks Nicci! It’s great to see you out and about again. It’s still up and down with pain. This week I had no hip pain but it’s in my hamstrings now, which I have no stretch or remedy to help that only less movement and ibuprofen. Yesterday was horrid but today is good. At least my ex has helped get the garden in which would have made me crazy otherwise.
