The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly  @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week, and showcase books and things we have received.

Stacking The Shelves is also a weekly meme hosted by  Tynga’s Reviews and Marlene from Reading Reality.  It’s all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!

Don’t forget to look at my giveaways on the right sidebar.

Sunday, we are having gorgeous weather.  I’m using the new laptop for the first full day and it is fast.  Apparently for Google Chrome and SSD hard drive is a great match.  I did the usual visiting and worked on some posts. My daughter still feels achy but is working on homework.  We got organized on which classes she might take, a little, over dinner last night. I created many post setups while listening to audio. Then I perused the Audible 2-1 credit sale and found 2 I was really wanting.  I pretty much had a bit of pain and trouble standing all day.

Monday,  I got enough uninterrupted sleep last night and it’s a better pain day.  I got right to work on things.  I went thru the Chirp deals to clean up emails and found a couple. I updated my Library and COYER links for the book I read in the first half of April ( a little early).  I finally made the chocolate chip cookies I planned to make about 3 weeks ago.

Tuesday, another gorgeous day with plenty to do.  I did lots of editing and scheduling of posts.  My daughter then helped me with the garbage and recycle out and then spraying to kill the weeds around the tree in front.  We got stir fry chicken rice from one of the neighborhood chefs.  I prepped my notes for going to PT Thursday.  And I watched one episode of The Equalizer.

Wednesday,  I stayed in bed late reading.   When I went out with Lulu, I checked on the peonies we thought were dead.  They’re up!  The snow peas are up, too.

Thursday,  I signed up my daughter for classes for summer and fall, more classes than she needs but it will give her more time to decide and then drop some.   I got everything she wanted.  Then I had my first PT session.   My PT therapist says it is my back.  She gave me one exercise to do and plans to work with me twice a week.   My back doesn’t hurt; the pain is in my legs, but it is a back issue.    She also says, like my brother suggested I should move at least once every hour.  It got hot late in the day so I went downstairs and did some knitting in the family room.

Friday,  I got an Aldi Instacart.  It’s just the most gorgeous day.  I called in to the home warranty because the HVAC thermostat for the upstairs doesn’t seem to be working. I managed to mow the front yard. I also got the new cages on the peonies to support them when they get bigger. I expected to hurt, and hurt afterward if I stiffened up, but it went ok.  It was no worse than usual.  Maybe I can do the back yard tomorrow. We had shrimp with Asian veggies and rice noodles from the other neighborhood chef.

Saturday, I slept overnight in a split shift and in the middle, I read from 5:30-7:30am. I tried to pick up sticks in the backyard so I’ll be able to mow but that didn’t go well.  I did use the dustbuster on the swing  and patio chairs because it was covered in yellow pollen. I made another batch of food with chicken thighs for Lulu.  I’m glad to be able to do a bit more cooking.

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality.  These are the exciting ARCs I received this week (If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry):

My thanks to InkSlingerPR, Berkley, and  Tantor Audio.

(If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry)

I got an Audible daily deal for $2.95.

I found 4 I wanted at the 2-1 credit Audible sale.

Then I got a coupe deals at Chirp for 99¢ and $1.99 with a favorite narrator.

Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.

I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT  they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.

I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.

    • Thank you Tammy. It is the most beautiful weather now. It only seems to rain overnight or late afternoon maybe one day a week. Plenty of sun and not too hot. I’m hoping to get out walking a bit this week but we will see.

  1. I’m glad that you aren’t finding the pain is defining the whole of your week, as it was before and I hope you go on recovering. It is always a plus when the weather is lovely. We haven’t had much rain for quite a while, but it is chilly with a biting wind even when the sun shines – especially here where we are close to the sea. Have a good week, Anne:)).

  2. That’s great you got a new laptop and it’s so fast. That’s always a nice thing about a new device. I am glad to hear you finally got to bake those chocolate chip cookies you wanted to make.

I hope the exercise your physio therapist gave you will help for your back. It’s weird how sometimes the source of the pain can be different from where it’s actually hurting.

I see you got Cursed Luck, I am really curious about that one. I hope it’s a good one! I hope you have a great week!

    • Thanks Lola. Those cookies were gone in like 2 days but I make a small batch with only about 18 cookies. I made cream cheese brownies last night. I hope the PT helps me improve more so I can do more work outside.

    • Thanks Samantha! PT does seem to help so far. The pollen doesn’t seem to be affecting me as much this year. Usually I go through a few weeks where I have to use antihistamine eyedrops but haven’t needed them yet. My daughter is feeling it though so I know it’s out there. I do go out with the dog so it’s not because I’m never outside. This weather is just stellar.

  3. Another busy week and I’m glad you got so much done. Glad the therapy went well and those chef meals sound scrumptious. Yay for the peony bouncing back. Mine always look dead from winter, but come back each year.
Nice catch on the sales. I grabbed Cursed Luck for review, too.

    Have a good week, Anne!

  4. I am glad your new computer is working out well for you. It sounds like the PT visit went well. I hope the exercises help. I am glad your peonies are alive and well! The weather here has been very pleasant too. I was awakened this morning by the blinds banging against the window from the wind outside. I don’t normally like to leave the windows open overnight because it makes my allergies worse, but I guess we forgot to close it. The wind is blowing pretty strong out there still.

Cursed Luck looks good! All your new books do really. I am interested in The Mystery of Mrs. Christie and look forward to your thoughts on it. I took advantage of the Amazon World Day offer of free books and picked up several of those.

I hope you have a great week, Anne!

  5. I want to read You Spin Me, but just didn’t have time to fit it into my blog review schedule right now. I’ll be looking to maybe buy it as an audiobook later to listen to. Sounds like another busy week for you! We’ve had some nice weather here. I took Tuesday off and got my yard mowed. Hope you have a good week and enjoy your new books. Thanks for stopping by my Sunday Post earlier!

  6. Sorry to hear you’re still struggling with pain! I wish we had a neighborhood chef. That’s so cool you have two! Hope you sort out your HVAC situation.

I got a copy of The Love Hypothesis, too. I hope we both love it! 🙂

  7. I’m not sure how NC has been so lucky lately with the gorgeous Spring weather. We need this all the way through into June. lol I’m hoping to get outside this week and get some more things done. Rained this morning so hopefully starting tomorrow.

I get those Chirp emails, too. I’ve picked up a couple. I like how the sale usually lasts for days so even if I don’t get to the emails quickly I can still pick up a deal here and there. I missed the Audible deal for some reason. Poopypants.

    • I’m loving the weather but I need to be planning less and doing more. With some sort of long put off doc appt every day this week, that really breaks up the project time though. I spend time, maybe too much, going though email deals every day. The Chirp deals often last 30 days so I wait until I have 4-5 emails saved up to go through and make sure I don’t already own them or can get them at the library.

  8. Jen

I hope the new PT gets you “back” in the swing of things! lol. Sounds like a pretty good week!

  9. Oh how wonderful about the peonies. They’re one of my favorite flowers but I’ve never had much luck with them here. The Mystery of Mrs. Christie is high up on my TBR and you just reminded me about Audible. I know I have at least 2 credits to use so I think I’m going to go pick it up! Have a great week!

    • I have always love peonies and wasn’t sure if they grow here but apparently they do. I got a fragrant collection with a white, pink and dark pink. I have lots of credits but I use them and I also gift them as prizes in my giveaways.

    • Thank you Carole. It is beautiful here. It makes it easier to do things. It’s only raining about 1 day a week at most. So I’m watering the garden every night at dinnertime. My spot on the You Spin Me blog tour is later so I won’t get to it for maybe a week yet.

    • Thank you Jonetta! So far so good. The pain is no worse and I’d rather be moving than not moving. And I am improving if too slowly for me. Yes, I’m starting to try to get the Angela Marsons books as I can.

  10. Your weeks always sound so productive… Even when you’re having so much trouble with your back/legs!
Hope this week has been a good one! I grabbed Love Notes while it was free too… I do like an Austin retelling!
