During an investigation, small town cop Kat Kelley encounters the most arresting man she’s ever seen. But before she can make her move, the soul-stirring, saber-toothed alien with topaz eyes growls at her. Who does that? This potential relationship is DOA, case closed. She’s confident her heart will fall in line once she immerses herself in the upcoming law enforcement training conference in Vegas.

Tigre, a Saberian from planet ’Topia, instantly recognizes Kat as his genmate, so he doesn’t hesitate to let her know. That’s when everything goes wrong. By the disdainful curl of her lips, the stunning human lets him know she finds him lacking as a mate. Fine, then. Somehow, he will extinguish the feral fever’s burn—a little trip to Las Vegas ought to do it.

Tigre is book six in the Alien Castaways series.  They each are standalone, but each new one does reference back to previous couples and it is the first one that really develops the backstory for the series so they are best read in order.

“He growled at her and she sneered at him”.

Not exactly a promising start for this alien mating match in the final Alien Castaways sci-fi romance.

Tigre was none too keen when the female police officer arrested his innocent friend, but when her disdain was evident the first time she noticed him, he knew his genmatch was doomed.  His own mate couldn’t stand him and the feeling was mutual.  Might as well take his grumpy self down to Vegas to inspect the new weapons that would protect his people from their enemy.  But, there she is again and this time the encounter sets off a feral fever.

Kat can’t believe the lack of judgment she displayed sleeping with an alien she can’t stand and marrying him?  What was she thinking!!!  She wasn’t.  One night of good conversation and a connection that she is pretty sure was the alien hooking her in doesn’t wipe out a past of watching a father and other men walk away.  They can’t walk away if she doesn’t get attached and let them close in the first place.  Right when she is prepared to walk away first, something makes her know she’ll regret not giving Tigre a chance.  Meanwhile, she’s a cop and has a job to do solving a string of local rural robberies.

I was anticipating this match up since these two had a horrid first meeting.  The author cracked me up calling her Kat when he is Tigre and an alien cat man, basically.  She’s a tough, dedicated cop, but Tigre doesn’t mind that.  He is hurt that she wants nothing to do with him and doesn’t realize she has her own issues and it’s not about him.

As with the past ones, there is the gemmate connection that has obstacles before they can be together.  I enjoyed that there are personal struggles as well as a suspense element paired with a spicy fated mates romance.  It moves along quickly and is fairly light sci-fi.  These are excellent entertainment and easy reading.  I was thrilled to discover that Edward Mysk would be the alien hero of a spin-off series so I don’t have to say good-bye to this fun and fabulous Alien Castaways world.  For light and spicy sci-fi romance lovers, these are a recommend.

  1. Sleeping with an alien she can’t stand, wow! love it. In fact I enjoy love/hate romances a lot. But I think they say a lot about characters and toxic stuff.

Great review! I love these Intergalactic Dating Agency books! I’m looking forward to reading Tigre! Thanks for sharing!

  3. I like the Ruby Dixon books which seem similar to this series, so I’d like to give this a go sometime. Nice to see you enjoyed it, Sophia!

    • Totally agree, Mary! 🙂 If you haven’t got Darak, it is free for this month on Kindle. Loved that series, too.
