It's been a rough year for Peter Stone.
Vampires are not meant to be quarantined and most of the nation is under lockdown. It has been extra hard in the city of New Detroit that depends on tourism not only for its economy but blood supply. With his creator kidnapped, mother dead, and once more exiled to the fringes of their society--he's ready to call it quits. That's when he receives a mysterious message from a long-dead friend who tells him that his problems are just beginning.
A mysterious new player in town wants to recruit Peter to help form a supernatural alliance against the oppressive new voivode and his human hunter allies. Unfortunately, Hell itself has sent an assassin against our antihero and even a new set of allies may not be enough to protect him.
Enjoy Peter's final exciting adventure!
Part of the United States of Monsters universe with the Bright Falls Mysteries, Psycho Killers in Love, Morgan Detective Agency, and The Red Room.
Vampiraz4Life is the final book of this series, and I will miss Peter Stone (I’m really hoping he will make some appearances in some other series in the United States of Monsters universe). This was a fitting ending to the series, not to mention, I loved how the author included the pandemic in the story. It gave me a reason to laugh and smile about the crap we’ve been living through for the past two years.
This final story was filled with the shenanigans and pop culture I’ve come to expect from a Phipps book. I really enjoyed seeing so many of the characters from this series and others from crossover series. It was also a lot of fun to see how vampires deal with a pandemic reducing tourism (and blood supply). It was also great to see a hate group get what they deserve.
While the ending is bittersweet (I would love more Peter Stone stories), I had a great time with it. I look forward to what Phipps comes up with next.
Narration:
This is the first series where I’ve listened to Cary Hite, and I’ve really enjoyed his portrayal of Peter and his maker, Thoth. His voices for all the characters have been spot on. He has no issues with male or female voices. He’s also great to get the tone of the situation. I would gladly listen to him read another book/series.a

This sounds like a fun series! I know a lot of people don’t want anything about the pandemic in their stories, but I kind of like when an author does add it in the right way, because that way it connects to how we have all been dealing with this. Great review!
I like when authors include timely issues in their stories. I do understand how it can date it, but it is also fun at the time.
I haven’t come across either Phipps or Hite before, but your review makes me want to change that fact, Melanie. This sounds like a book (and series) I’d enjoy. 💚
I’m a huge fan of Phipps. I’ve read all of the United States of Monster series. They are full of action, snark and fun. The characters are all relatable too.
I so NEED to try this author
You really do need to try him. For you, I would probably recommend to start with his weredeer series. I think you would love it. He just completed it, only three books. I hope you have a wonderful new year.
