The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly  @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week, and showcase books and things we have received.

Don’t forget to look at my giveaways on the right sidebar.

So now it’s Tuesday,  on Sunday and Monday I did just a tiny bit of visiting and computer work,  but mostly I binged Marvel shows.  I figured out that the shows can be speeded up like audiobooks.   I watched everything except the Iron Fist ones, 3 seasons of Daredevil,  3 seasons of Jessica Jones, 2 seasons of Luke Cage, and 2 seasons of the Punisher and the season of the Defenders.  I think the Defenders was my favorite since it had a bunch of them in it working together.  Now I’m trying hard to catch up on everything.

I got an Instacart order from Wegmans, did the usual with laundry and dishes. I have so many review requests to go through.  I also was a week ahead on blog stuff but now I’m behind and not even ready for this week.  Because the Olympics, the Marvel binge and the library RAT.  So now I am doing some buddy reads and need to get going on my ARCs.  Lulu and I enjoyed the very nice weather with a longer walk.

Wednesday,  I was behind on ARCs and other stuff still so I worked harder on tasks. I’m reading 2 ebooks and 2 audio books at the same time and two of them are buddy reads.  Lulu and I took an even longer walk as it was a really beautiful day. I updated my month end challenge links for Library and COYER.

Thursday was another warm beautiful day.  I had a productive morning. My daughter had 2 doctor appointments.  When we got back we went for a walk.  Then we did the toenail trimming torture which went very well.  I then set up some posts before dinner.

Friday,  it’s a bit cooler but nice 60F / 16C  and I had planned to be out doing yard and garage work all day after morning computer tasks.  The car detailer canceled for the afternoon because he is sick, so I hope to get that rescheduled soon but it frees up this afternoon totally.  I worked hard to narrow down my audio picks at the Audible Sale to 31 (!) for $124.  I spent the afternoon in the attic, looking through what was in every box and reorganizing and labeling them.

Saturday,  I organized my schedule to finish off things with my ex leaving today.  He’s been here more than a month and accomplished many things.  Lulu and I went for a walk on a longer route.  I noticed the Pulmonaria (lungwort) is blooming when I came back.

February Reading:   I managed to read 18 books. Audiobooks continue to help me read more. Some count for more than one challenge.  I listened to 10 audiobooks, read 7 library books,  11 COYER reads, and 2 books which I already own.

All Library books (including ones not reviewed on the blog)  2022 Library Love Challenge

I did manage to read 2 books I own (goal is 3 per month):

  • Stolen Fury by Elisabeth Naughton
  •  🎧  The Butterfly House by Katrine Engberg

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Reading Reality.  These are the exciting ARCs I received this week (If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry):

My thanks to Avon / Harper Voyager, Recurve Press,  Montlake,  AceRoc, and Tantor Audio.

(If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry)

I got 31 audiobooks from Audible in the 85% off sale.  I am not going to list all of them.  I finished up the the books I didn’t have in these series: Cork O’ Connor by William Kent Krueger, Sebastian St. Cyr by CS Harris,  Alex Verus by Benedict Jacka, and Jane Yellowrock by Faith Hunter.  I bought the first two in the Kara Gillian series by Diana Roland, The Breakup Album by Lauren Blakely, and The Heartbreaker Collection by Lauren Blakely.

Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.

I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT  they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.

I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.

  1. I think I ended up buying only two or three from the Audible sale. It was so tempting but I’m trying to concentrate on reading what I already own. I loved The Candle Palace (from your freebies). It was such a good ending to the Jamison Valley series. Hope you have a great week, Anne!

    • Thanks Tonya. I pretty much only bought ones from my wishlist which were less than $5. I used to not buy if I could get things at the library but for series I love I’ve started buying because they don’t always stay at the library if they are huge commercial successes like Harry Potter or something. Or only the later books in the series.

I was on vacation all last week and didn’t even realize there was an Audible sale. Oh well. Vacation was great – I really did unplug from it all. We spent 8 days in Florida staying with my parents. We also visited several days with my in-laws, saw friends from home who were also in the area, visited with friends who live in the area, celebrated three birthdays, at lots of food and desserts, drank lots of wine, and enjoyed beautiful walks. Since I’m only weighing myself once/week, I don’t know the extent of the weight gain, but I can feel the extra pounds and it’s making me feel yucky. I need to get back into my routine that I was sliding out of even before we left.

  3. Audible sales are great. I even know a few audio book narrators and they love what they do.Its a real free spirited job.

Yay for productive days. Feels good to be ahead of things. Enjoy your recent freebies 🙂

    • Thank you Lisa. I purchased all under $5 too. I just realized a lot of things don’t stay at the library these days, particularly in audio. So I went ahead and bought some favorite series. The weather here is in the 80s for a few days and then some rain and 60s mid week. We don’t always get much rain, even when it is forecast though.

  5. I’ve missed the Audible sale completely. Ay jay jay. You win some, you lose some. I might be the only person on the planet who don’t speed up my audiobooks. I don’t know, but I like the normal speed and to feel as if you are having a “conversation” with your book.

Hope you will have a good week and get to catch up with all your review books!

    • I’m not sure I would say I had a productive week when I spent 2 full days watching tv but I did go through the entire attic so that was something. I have boxes of baby clothes and toys from when my daughter was little and even a few boxes from when I was younger. My daughter has many more boxes though from when we moved that she hasn’t looked at since 2019. She hasn’t unpacked more than half her stuff and has boxes in her room also. I have boxes in the dining room yet with china which I haven’t unpacked but everything else. I do have stuff in boxes from my mom’s house which sold a couple months after I moved here which I haven’t gone through all of it yet. We are having nice weather now.

  6. I still haven’t watched any of the Netflix Marvel shows and I guess I’m not going to watch any of them since they’re leaving Netflix soon. I have loved the Disney+ MCU shows, though. I wish I had more time to binge watch everything. I just need to choose between reading, homework, blogging, and TV. TV is usually the one that gets sacrificed.

  7. I bought a bunch of Jennifer Estep titles and a couple of others in the audible sale. I didn’t count but it was over $100. I didn’t know that you can speed up shows. TV and movies always seem so slow to me. I am looking forward to Elipse the Moon too! Have a great week!

  8. I didn’t ealize how many Marvel seasons there were on netflix, even though I watched most of them lol. And it was in the 60’s here yesterday- we actually got a thunderstorm late last night! First time in a while- better than a snowstorm right? 🙂

Hope you have a nice week ahead.

  9. I am ahead with reading/listening but behind on actually writing the posts…lol I remember the days when I was working on posts for next month and beyond, not this week… In August both the Royals will be in school full time and I will only have Hazel part time, so we shall see.

  10. Yes, the Olympics and then picking up a stack of library books for the RAT did alter my review reading schedule a bit, but I think it was worth it. Neat that your ex was able to stay so long so you knocked out several projects and great about the longer walks. Now that we’re heading into March, I’m hoping for less ice out there and better weather so I can get out and walk more. Your lungweed looks lush and healthy.

    Have a great week, Anne!

  11. I binge watched the Marvel movies with my daughter last year. Still not finished so I need to get back to it soon. Need that Devney Perry book!

  12. What a gorgeous picture of Lulu – she is just so cute. I love Elisabeth Naughton books, though I haven’t read Stolen Fury. Your recommendations are too good, I’ve not got even more books on my TBR (Eclipse the Moon and Double Vision – both sound just my thing). Have a good week and happy reading/listening.

  13. I wanted to buy a few from the Audible sale but decided against it, mainly because I went crazy during their Buy 2 Get 1 Free sale a few weeks ago, lol. Binge watching Marvel series sounds like fun. I love Marvel but haven’t watched most of the ones you’ve mentioned yet. Awww, Lulu is such a cutie.

    • I watch the sales carefully to see if there are deals on ones on my wishlist. I try hard to use the wishlist so I don’t just go wild trying to look at everything. But this kind of sale where it is up to 85% off when many titles are $3-4 is cheaper than 2-1 deals, so I bought more. I still have my credits for new titles.

  14. I hadn’t realised there was an Audible sale or I probably would have also indulged. I’m definitely listening a lot while I rest up in bed in the mornings! Though I either listen at normal speed, or slow it down to -1.25 if the narrator talks a bit fast, especially if they are American:). I hope you have a happy, productive week, Anne.

    • I try to keep track of all the sales even if I don’t buy anything. I would think Audible would always email for me to buy stuff but they don’t always. I also use Slickdeal alerts to make sure I get in on them.

It’s so funny you say that because sometimes I have to slow them down a bit if they are British or Irish or Swedish!

  15. Oh wow! 31 audiobooks! I didn’t even look at the sale, as I have so many audiobooks to read right now anyway. LOL at watching Marvel sped up like an audiobook – I had no idea that was an option. I’m glad you were able to get the shows in before they leave/left Netflix, even if it did put you behind. Hopefully you’re starting to feel more caught up this week 🙂

    • yes but think about getting them for $124, which means they averaged out to $4 each. They were in ones I will definitely read. There’s a new sale which is 2-1 credit option which is also good if they have ones I want. The good thing about the last sale is that EVERY one was on sale at varying discounts. Yes I’m glad I finished the Marvel even though it screwed me up. I’m finally feeling like I am getting back on track.
