I like seeing your top tens. The Emily Wilde series is on my wishlist, maybe I’ll check out the audio instead hearing that it was so good. I listened to some books by Elizabeth Knowelden and like her narration. I also loved the Red Winter series and listened to it this year, it also made my top ten, didn’t think to just list the omnibus collection as one book, that’s a good idea. Legends on Lattes is on my wishlist, I heard so many good things about it.
Thanks for sharing Lola. I did enjoy the Emily Wilde audiobooks but the covers on the print books are so gorgeous. I’m a big fan of Elizabeth Knowleden. The reason the Red Winter was listed that way is that’s how Robin reviewed it. They released the omnibus with the whole trilogy. I will mention that Wildfire by Ilona Andrews is a favorite audiobook for all time. When I finished listening the first time, I just started it all over again.
The covers sure are pretty, I’ll listen to an audio sample for one of the Emily Wilde books to see if I want to get them in that format.
I actually got the omnibus edition of Red Winter as well, but reviewed them as individual books.
I’ll have to look up that Ilona Andrews series. Definitely a good sign if you listen to it again right after finishing it.
I was so surprised by how much I liked the Red Winter series. The great thing about the audio was the pronunciation of all the Japanese worlds I totally wouldn’t have done justice if trying to read it.
I had read some of the authors other books, but didn’t get the chance to read her Red Winter series yet, so I was excited to get the omnibus in audio and experience the story that way. The narrator was a good one and I liked listening to it.
Great lists, ladies💜
Thank you! I like the diversity we get in genres.
Thanks, Jonetta! It was fun to pour over my book journal pick the ones for the list. 🙂
Haha…I didn’t match Sophia or Anne on a single book. I guess that is good for diversity!
@Sophia. I reread almost all of the Ilona Andrews books at least once a year and they are always my favorites. I thought about doing the dealers choice on favorite rereads of the year. But it would have been filled with just Ilona Andrews and Brandon Sanderson 😛 since I hit up some of theirs every year. Comfort reads.
@Anne. We didn’t have one in common which is a little strange, you and I usually overlap just a little bit. Great to see your reads I guess I need to pick up the audio of The Missing Witness.
It is a little strange but I had Sanctuary on my ebook Top 10 Favorites. I did love We Solve Murders but others rated more highly. That Allison Brennan series I would read in order but The Missing Witness is absolutely amazing. It’s the 5th book in the series. They are all great.
Haha! No, not one same one. I’ve got some from both of you these last two days that I’ve put in other lists, but none for the same day. 🙂
I love the festive blog look. I haven’t listened to any on your lists, but I did listen to 15 audio books this year which was a new record for me.
Thank you Naida. Audio is great for multitasking along with dog-walking, cooking, or chores.
I was about 50/50 this year. Which is odd since it is normally more audio than reading with my eyes. But it was nice to read read more this year.
I was hoping to listen to more than I did, but it was still a really good listening year. 🙂
Wonderful audiobook picks for the Top 10. I’ve listed to a few, but thanks for adding to my TBR. ^_^
I hope you find some you enjoy!
Nice…Angela, I too have been enjoying listening to Magic Shifts and Mercy Thompson as they come out on Graphic Audio. I haven’t read a Katie MacAlister book for awhile might need to add that to my list for this next year.
Happy to! Only fair since you add to my pile, too. 🙂
Yayy! Patricia Briggs!!!!
She’s one of my top 5!
Looks you had trouble picking just 10, even with limiting the WTZ series to one choice, which I had to do too. I see Sophia and I both liked Legends and Lattes this year.
yes I totally can’t restrain myself in the choices.
I liked Funny Story and Tangled Up in You. I also listened to the first of the White Trash books. I have the second in my to be listened to.
White Trash Zombie just improves as it goes along. The audio is excellent but Audible only.
Yes, I have it from Audible. It’s been in my stack for a very long time. I’ve been trying to work on all my old ones in the last couple of months but still have lots to go. Libby keeps me busy for a lot of the new ones.
My favorite audiobook of 2024 is Canadian Boyfriend by Jenny Holiday.
I’ll have to track that down at the library. ooo it’s available.
Thanks! I just put a hold on it at my library. And yes you still have to wait for it one year later!
A great mix of books! I really want to try Ilona Andrews and I just got a copy of the audio of Funny Story. I hope you have a happy New Year!
Thank you Katherine. If you like Patricia Briggs, Kelley Armstrong, Faith Hunter, Jim Butcher, Benedict Jacka, all great UF which really is my favorite genre.
Anne, I loved Lone Wolf and The Boy Who Cried Bear, as well. The Missing Witness, too, but I read it since I didn’t have the audio. Sophia, I also loved Dead Heat, Wildfire, Magic Tides and Magic Claims!
I loved all the ones you mentioned. Wildfire is on my top list of favorite books of all time.
