The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week, and showcase books and things we have received.
Don’t forget to look at my giveaways on the right sidebar.
Sunday, I had a quiet morning working on the usual things. I’m managing to stay a bit ahead on my reading which makes things more comfortable and allows more time for books I own or ones from the library. With the time change, the day is going fast. My daughter started her new class this past week in Managerial Accounting and she seems to like it. She got an A in her last class 98%. She also has lost 42 pounds since last summer which is easier on her joints with her fibromyalgia and EDS. Lulu is definitely not wanting to go up stairs so I think her back is out again. She doesn’t seem as bad as last time but we will be watching her closely and helping her with the stairs. We walked Lulu and ran into our neighbor and Abbey. Abbey wanted to go with us instead of going home!
Monday, I continue to go to bed later and get up later. I did the usual stuff and looked at all my owned audiobooks on Audible and Chirp. I’m a little surprised how many I have read of the ones I own, especially on Audible. I was looking at options for the COYER March Readathon of reading shelf books. I made soup for tonight but realized I didn’t have celery. Luckily, Marley’s mom had some. We walked Lulu at 4pm and it started sprinkling but then stopped.
Tuesday, I started early so Lulu would have some time out before I left on my errands. I started at the foot doctor asking about how to better care for my feet and where to buy good shoes, etc, then to Trader Joes, Papa Murphys and last Fairview Garden Center. We walked Lulu and ran into the neighbor and Abbey. Then I planted the new swiss chard plants and planted the rest of my beet and carrot seeds. I saw Marley outside and she came over to show off her new haircut and for some pets. We will see if any seeds produce. I watered everything.
Wednesday, the broccoli is doing well and the snow peas are up more than yesterday. It’s decidedly warmer and will get to 80F/27C today. I continue to stay up later and get up later, in other words sort of ignoring the time change. The asparagus is poking up. After 2.5 years, I may have some asparagus. This is the typical growth cycle. My daughter was working on her studies so we walked Lulu very late.
Thursday, I got up early to prepare for our medical appt errand run today. My daughter had a good checkup, we went on to Fleet Feet to look at shoes and orthotic inserts. My daughter got a pair of “tennis” shoes and inserts and I just got inserts. I don’t really wear tennis shoes. I wear waterproof shoes or Harley boots (also waterproof) but the inserts will help my feet stay in better shape. We stopped at CVS to spend my $45 quarterly allowance on FSA type items and then got a couple items at Aldi. I got a call from our pharmacist that we are due for our 6 month COVID booster. We walked Lulu and saw Clover and Maggie outside.
Friday, I lollygagged this morning. I did a bunch of reading today. We walked Lulu and it was a bit cooler today.
Saturday, cloudy morning but it’s warmer. I dawdled a bit this morning, reading again. I wrote a review. I finished deleting images from before I started this blog. I updated the COYER linky. We walked Lulu and it was nice. Then we trimmed her toenails. The SDB iris and lungwort are just starting to bloom. This next week will be 60-70F , 16-21C.
Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Reading Reality. These are the exciting ARCs I received this week (If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry):
My grateful thanks to Forever.

I bought Arcadia for $3 at the Audible sale. Then I purchased The Tainted Cup at Chirp for $5.
Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.
Chirp Freebie Friday:
I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.
I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.

Since I work an 8 to 5 job, I have to adjust to the time change and it’s hard. It always takes me at least two weeks. So cool about the asparagus! I hope you get a bunch😁
Thank you Tammy. We have everything flexible so we mostly ignore the time changes a bit. yes it’s exciting to have the possibility of asparagus. It’s always harder when it is 2 years or more before a planting will produce a crop. I think the rhubarb died.
Writing Mr. Wrong sounds amusing! Sounds like a good week. Mine could use some more lollygagging 😉
Thanks Becki. It was a pretty good week. We learned some things and that always helps.
Congrats to your daughter! Losing 42 pounds is impressive, and I’m glad she’s enjoying her classes. Have a great week!
Thank you AJ. She is doing much better. I’m grateful we found some things to help.
That’s awesome that your daughter was able to lose that much weight! I know if I could just do that it would help with my blood pressure which is better, but they won’t take me off the meds yet. My sister is wanting to set up planting boxes like you have, but she knows she won’t have time this year before it’s time to start planting, so she’s going to set up a small area and work on boxes like you have for next year during the summer. I’m so excited for the new Kelley Armstrong romance since I loved the first one she did. I’ve got an e-galley of that too. Poor Lulu, I hope she is okay. Back issues are so scary! Have a good week!
Thanks Lisa. I kept adding garden beds every year until I have that whole side row of them plus the herb bed by the door. Lulu seems better already but we have the ramp to the couch and always watch her.
Sounds like your daughter is doing quite well, that’s always so lovely. Hope you have a wonderful week.
yes thank you, she is doing better.
Wow, 80 degrees?! That’s warm! Your broccoli is doing well. I think ours survived the snow and it’s doing well, too. Congrats on your daughter on losing 42 pounds! It’s so much healthier. You get a $45 allowance at CVS? What is FSA? I’ll have to check out that Kelley Armstrong book.
FSA is a flexible spending account. It’s like that and part of this year’s insurance plan I have through Aetna. Only certain OTC items apply like bandaids and tylenol and cold medicines and other medical adjacent things. I struggle a bit to spend it.
Sounds like your daughter is doing well between her classes and losing the weight. Writing Mr. Wrong looks good. I hope you enjoy your books.
Thanks Yvonne. She is doing much better.
So many fun little celebrations in your post- an asparagus blooming, daughter’s fab weight loss, and all the med appts and errands done. I just started my seeds this past week and need to rake out the dead brush and leaves that blew in or fell during the winter. I have not gotten in bed all that early and don’t get up as early lately- guess I’m skipping the time change some days, too. 🙂
Have a good week, Anne!
Thank you Sophia. We try to make progress all the time and it’s certainly fun when we do.
Oh wow congrats to your daughter for losing so much weight Anne!
Thank you Sophie. She has a hard time with her medical issues and some of the drugs cause weight retention so it’s a good thing for her.
Your garden is doing great! I love to see the veg growing so well. Have a great week.
Thank you Jodie. I expect the seeds to pop up in the next week if they are going to germinate. We will see. I still seem to do better with plants from the garden center.
Congrats to your daughter. Your garden is coming along!
Thank you Kimberly. It’s been good for her health. The garden is kind of trial and error but we know some things which work.
Congrats to your daughter on her grades and the weight loss. I hope Lulus back feels better soon. I’m still adjusting to the time changing and feel like the days are so short now and it’s time for bed before I know it. I haven’t had the time to blog or barely read in about a week but hopefully this week I can. Enjoy your week and the weather. 80 already?! That’s so warm.
Thank you Naida. She is doing much better this year and I can only hope it continues. Lulu seems better now but we are still watching her closely. The weather seems all over the place 40 then 80. I’d like a nice steady anything for a bit 50, 60 or 70. That’s the spring weather I want.
Congrats to your daughter on her achievements.
Daylight Savings ends for us at the end of the month. I’ll miss it. Today it’s quite cool at 25c but the temps are supposed to go back up to 30c + by the end of the week.
Wishing you a great reading week
Thank you! She is doing well this year. The weather is all ups and downs this month.
The Tainted Cup was a lot of fun! I need to get round to reading my ARC of the sequel. SF/F Holmesian mystery in a fascinating world. Hope you enjoy it!
oh I loved The Tainted Cup! I just bought the audio for a reread. I seem to be reading it and A Drop of Corruption in ebook format the first go round.
I was in southern Florida last week, so it was a LOT warmer for me! It also made the time change a lot easier on me – we were on vacation and didn’t have a set schedule. Congrats to your daughter on her weight loss w/respect to her health. I hope she feels better overall.
Thank you Jen. We have had some excellent health improvements for her over the last year.
Hope Lulu’s back is doing better and glad your daughter is enjoying her new class. Sounds like your gardening is going well. We’ve had some up and down temps this past week which is playing havoc with allergies. I really hope I get that ARC of the Kelley Armstong book but if I don’t, I’ll definitely be snagging it when it released. I enjoyed the first one in that romance series. Hope you have a great week and hey, can you let me know when I need to have Clean Sweep read for in April? I believe that is my month right?
Thank you Barb. Lulu is doing better. The gardening is trial and error. Clean Sweep post is May 16 so we will start reading it at the end of April and I’d like to get your review by the weekend of May 10-11 (which is Mother’s Day) But since you are not reading the Edge books you can read Clean Sweep anytime in April. I think you would have liked the body horror aspects of the Edge!
Your gardening skills continue to impress me! I’m glad your daughter is doing well in her class, and that you’re both taking care of your feet. I should probably get some orthotics for my everyday sneakers, too; I need more arch support.
No Lulu photo this week? I miss seeing that adorable little face!
Thank you. The gardening success is only preceded by many, many failures. I don’t know how I managed without a Lulu photo; she is the center of our lives.
Good haul!
Man I’m behind again in my responding. D:
Thanks. I’m behind on responses myself and trying to catch up today.
