On board this spaceship I’m only certain of two things:
1. The movies lied to me.
2. I’m about to mark an alien and take him like the beast I am.

Look, I didn’t believe in aliens either — until I was abducted by them.

Waking up on board a spacecraft among several other naked, terrified women prisoners mostly ruled out my government lab fears. Thank God. But just in case, I tore our captors limb from limb.

That’s when I discover our fellow prisoner — General At’ens.
This alien is different from the others, mostly because he’s about ten times stronger, ten times — ahem —bigger, and... no. He can’t be my mate. The things I’m imagining us doing are something no shifter should be contemplating with an alien. But if I’m going to hell, I’d rather earn my place...thoroughly.

My desires are about to become the least of my problems however, because like it or not we’re now embroiled in a vicious war of the planets — and that includes Earth.

If I want a home to go back to, I need to focus.

Paranormal Meets Sci-Fi in an uproariously fun adventure when the aliens steal some earth women and have no idea they’ve tossed their loop around a werewolf, too.  Mayhem ensues as does spicy fated mate very alien romance.

An American Werewolf in Space is the first of a new sci-fi series and is not a standalone book.  It ends at a mild cliff hanger, but it feels like a good place to stop.  Just be apprised that one has to commit to the series to get a complete story with all plot threads neatly tied up in a bow.

The series title made me laugh, but Alisha Sunderland’s debut read does indeed deserve such a caution label.  Jack is a bloodthirsty, strong, and uninhibited female werewolf who ends up captured by aliens and wakes up in space.  There are other human females also captured, but a big bad scary alien is being held in the cargo bay beside hers and, would you believe it, Olem’s her fated mate.

I enjoyed seeing Jack go into growling alien-ripping action and then getting to know her and her girl posse of other prisoners.  There are lots of pop culture references that were funny and good banter and rejoinders among the group.  The werewolf origin story is an interesting one when it is revealed. So many fun sci-fi adventure moments- crash landings, alien politics and conspiracies, betrayals, alien secrets revealed, camaraderie, and scorching hot alien tentacle sex.

I don’t want to spoil the good stuff so I’ll leave it that vague.  This has a light-weight humor to it, but lots of serious undertones.  The gals are all so different, but they each have their strengths.  They even start to get chummy with their new alien acquaintances just in time for big changes.  Jack and Olem are fated mates.  They get hot and heavy, possessive and deep quickly, but I didn’t really mind under the circumstances.  Jack’s personality allows for her to face pretty much anything the universe can throw at her with a big wolfy psychotic grin and Olem enjoys Jack with all her rough-edges.

The worldbuilding was enough to get the reader up to speed and not slow the action.  I suspect there will be more explanations as the series goes forward.  I can definitely recommend this one for spicy hot hijinks space and alien action adventure.

  1. Yes! the woman being the werewolf was something of a role-reversal, but her alien mate is one scary dude, too. It definitely invites the reader to get a good laugh over it and not take it seriously.
