SOMETIMES YOU CAN GO HOME AGAIN…

After an overseas mission goes wrong, Army Special Forces officer Jacob Kincaid knows where he must go to make things right: back home to the tiny town of Cedar Ridge, Colorado. All he needs to scrub away his painful past is fresh mountain air, a lakeside cabin, and quiet solitude. But what he discovers is a gorgeous woman living on a boat at his dock.

Sophie Marren has nowhere else to go. She’s broke, intermittently seasick, and fighting a serious attraction to the brooding, dishy, I’m-too-sexy-for-myself guy who’s now claiming her dock. Something about Jacob’s dark intensity makes her want to tease—and tempt—him beyond measure. Neither one wants to give any ground . . . until they realize the only true home they have is with each other.

Anyone who has been reading my reviews knows Jill Shalvis is my go-to read for romance and comfort. This Cedar Ridge series is growing on me,  Nobody But You is one of the good ones!

Sophie has almost everything go wrong which could go wrong and yet she handles it all without complaint. She has little, expects nothing and gives so much.  She is also spunky and funny.

Jacob has reached a point in life where he has to deal with his past, his present and his future.  He has shut down all those feelings for so long and now, they are coming home to him.  I can so relate to this guy.  He is the strong, silent type and solid in his competence, caring and commitments.

Neither of these people is rich; they are ordinary, real life types.  They live in a smallish town in an awesome natural area.   Jill’s characters and settings are some of my favorites in the genre because of this and the humor.  This is also a book where a single guy is with a divorced woman which seems different.

How can I tell you about the feelings?  The characters are like old friends I enjoy seeing.  The town is beautiful.  The “enemy” starts as quite a cliché.  The banter is funny. The romance is believable.  Oh and a problem I worried over is resolved, surprisingly well.

Jill Shalvis is the one!
