The last thing Vaughan Hewson expects to find when he returns to his childhood home is a broken hearted bride in his shower, let alone the drama and chaos that comes with her.

Lydia Green doesn't know whether to burn down the church or sit and cry in a corner. Discovering the love of your life is having an affair on your wedding day is bad enough. Finding out it's with his best man is another thing all together. She narrowly escapes tying the knot and meets Vaughan only hours later.

Vaughan is the exact opposite of the picture perfect, respected businessman she thought she'd marry. This former musician-turned-bartender is rough around the edges and unsettled. But she already tried Mr. Right and discovered he's all wrong-maybe it's time to give Mr. Right Now a chance.

After all, what's wrong with getting dirty?

A short review to update challenges

Originally, I saw a cover of one of the books in the Dive Bar series and loved it.  Then I saw some decent reviews and finally the narrator was Andi Arndt. I could resist no longer.

Being me,  I started at the beginning with Dirty. Loads of fun and sexy, it is not wildly realistic with its runaway bride and hot musician but highly enjoyable. The emotional feels and character developments were authentic and I’ll definitely be moving along with the series for more joy.

Narration:

Andi Arndt is one of my favorite narrators ever and this is part of why I chose to listen to the series rather than read them.  Her performance is a joy.  It is so fluent I can just absorb the story without worrying about the voices because they feel authentic.  I listened comfortably at 1.5x speed.

About Andi Arndt

Andi’s relatively neutral US English accent is a product of a Minnesota childhood, New Jersey high school years, and Maryland/DC/Virginia adulthood. Firm grounding in both theatre and broadcasting led to full-time work in voice over.

    • So funny, none of my libraries have the 2nd one on audio but have the other 3. But that’s ok! It turns out I own the 2nd one as that’s the cover I loved and it is Andi Arndt. LOL

I also loved the runaway bride! Usually I don’t care too much about realistic as it is ficton, and this is totally fun and entertaining and sexy. I do want the emotional aspects to feel believable even if there are too many billionaires.

I loved this book, but read way back when instead of listening. The part I remember the best was the bride sitting in the bathtub when he got home. No, not very realistic, but I found that part fun. I also live anything Andi Arndt narrates. She’s just the best.

    • I loved it. I think the Stage Dive series comes first. So I should read that first probably. But I enjoyed this one without that background. I love Andi Arndt.
