The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week, and showcase books and things we have received.
Don’t forget to look at my giveaways on the right sidebar.
Sunday, I’m feeling pretty good about the week ahead. It’s going to be cold but we don’t have to go anywhere. My daughter is just getting into her Accounting class and she’s doing ok with it. Lulu and I waited until the late afternoon to walk so the wind would die down. It’s not all that cold but the wind is wicked. I’m caught up enough on posts and comments now that maybe I can do something else tomorrow. I also got my menu plan done so I could figure out what stores I might need to shop.
- My IFTTT app that autoshares to facebook is not working and the reconnect won’t work. I’ll keep trying. In the meantime, I tried to look at Meta Business Suite to see if they can autoshare through Instant Articles. It looks like it was easier when it was Publishing Tools. But I am able to duplicate the Instagram autoshare (done by dlvr.it) to facebook manually in Meta BS for now.
Monday, I did my usual visiting. I bundled up because I felt cold even though it isn’t that cold. Lulu and I took a walk. I wrote a review, edited some reviews and got some posts scheduled. I went through all the books I have been offered and downloaded 6 more ARCs mostly for late March and early April. I made a spreadsheet of the other offers which are still maybes.
Tuesday, I woke up really early and just started on things. I did work a bit on FS Poster and open a new support ticket. It was raining very lightly so my daughter and I took Abby and Lulu for a short walk. Abby just looked at me like why are you leaving when I took her home. Sigh. I worked on setting up posts for all my new ARCs. Then I picked up groceries at Aldi and pizza at Papa Murphys. I also got one for the neighbor. When I put it in her fridge, I took Abby out again but she wouldn’t go; she just wanted to go for another walk. After putting things away, I went back to setting up posts. All told I probably spent 4 hours on FS Poster today and nothing is working yet.
Wednesday, I looked at the response from FS Poster and the support was not very helpful. It looks like the things I need to do are WordPress programming and also using a third-party program in a way I don’t understand. My daughter had a medical appt. Then I went to walk Abby and Lulu. The temp is just below freezing but sunny and no wind. Bundled up and both Abby and Lulu in their coart, I was comfortable. I was able to get IFTTT posting to Facebook again. I worked on FS Poster again. To connect to Instagram I had to create an app in Meta for Developers. The instructions were clear enough and it is now connected. I decided to give Google Fiber a try instead of AT & T because they haven’t changed their price and AT & T keeps changing theirs every year. I have had some trouble with ATT also.
Thursday, it’s warmer. My daughter, Abby and Lulu and I all wore our coats and did our walk. I entered the links for mid-month to the Library and COYER challenge. I wrote two reviews.
Friday, I did some of the usual stuff. I went to pickup a Walmart order. I covered the primrose in the front yard when I got back. I ended up getting 2 more eARCs and creating those posts. They are just a deluge this week. The wind is really strong and it is getting really cold. I should have walked with Lulu earlier in the day. The next 2 days will be really cold (for here) but it’s the wind that’s miserable. I ran out and covered the sensitive plants and had to use stakes to keep the covers because the wind was so strong. I did the pacing plan for the next WTZ book.
Saturday, sunny and cold. My host has set up Cron Jobs which FS Poster said it needed. Still nothing has worked. I edited and scheduled some posts. I’m making soup and homemade French bread tonight. It’s going to warm up this week into the 70s F / 20C with rain in the last half. That’s a big warm up from today’s 34F / 1C high.
I’m excited for the WTZ chat today! I haven’t read the series and it’s exciting to be finally reading it. I loved the first one.

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Reading Reality. These are the exciting ARCs I received this week (If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry):
I am so thankful to the publishers : Berkley Romance, Minotaur Books (2), Ace (4), Berkley, DAW Books, St Martin’s Press (2). The offerings are so kind and I’m excited to read them.

(If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry)
I picked up this Audible Daily Deal for $2.99. Escape Mission is in Kiss Club at Librofm this month for $3.99 and Sophia has enjoyed this author.

Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.

I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.

I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.

I’ve never tried Papa Murphy’s even though we have them here. Might need to check them out. I also need to menu plan today so maybe I can plug them into one day. This weekend was perfect for soup and homemade bread, wasn’t it? So cold! It’s 29 here this morning… but warming up all week. We get winter in very short blasts. lol I enjoyed Visions of You. The last book in the series releases soon and I’ll be sad to see the series end.
Thanks Tanya. You’ll want to choose Tuesday for Papa Murphy’s because nationwide that is when you can get the special of $10.99 for any menu item pizza or up to 5 toppings. I haven’t read Catherine Cowles but I’m trying out some romance authors for February.
Soup and French bread perfect for winter. It’s been so cold and snowy here! I have to remember totry Papa Murphy’s too, we actually have one right around the corner.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend 🙂
Thank you Greg. It isn’t really cold here but it feels cold. If you’re going to try Papa Murphy’s do it on a Tuesday – that’s when the $10.99 deal is nationwide.
January is always so ARC heavy, right? I’ve been getting lots of offers but turning down most of them. Your weather seems crazy right now! We still don’t have any real snow, but I’m sure it’s coming. Hope your week goes smoothly😁
Thank you Tammy. It feels cold to me but it’s not really cold. Well I’d been storing up these ARC emails for awhile. I have more stacking up for later than May. It’s funny how I can’t put one more thing in February but end of March beginning of April has some holes and then May is stuffed. I’m sure June will load up also.
I’ve got The Kiss Countdown to read too. Hoping to have time to fit it in! Sounds like a mostly productive week for you other than the poster thing not working. That’s so frustrating! I wish I knew more about wordpress to figure that out, but oh well. I still need to figure out if there’s a way to get it to alphabetize the titles of the reviews under the authors’ names on my review pages. Have a good week! I’m starting the second WTZ book on audio today!
Thanks Lisa! I wish I could start the next book but I’m not going to have spoilers before the chat for myself. I need to read closer to the chat or I forget things. I think I do the Authors by Alpha like this: https://booksofmyheart.net/reviews/reviews-by-author-2/ It’s on my Features tab at the top under authors. I can send you the info – don’t you use UBB?
I do use UBB, just haven’t had time to go figure it out. All the authors are in alphabetical order, but the reviews of the books under their names aren’t.
I added your whole second row of ARCs to my TBR, unfortunately none of them are available for me on Netgalley due to geo restrictions.
I hope you get your WP issues sorted soon.
Stay warm!
Wishing you a great reading week
Thank you Shelleyrae. yes the geo thing is annoying. I often can’t get books you review or not at the same time. The plugin should not be so hard to use. I don’t know WordPress well because I just use plugins and outside programs but I have degrees in Computer Science. I’m bundling up in my Minnesota clothes.
I don’t have anything set up to automatically share anymore. I used to have that feature and then it went away somehow and I forgot how I did it in the first place. I usually do up a special post for Instagram anyhow so an autopost for that wouldn’t work for me.
I should do more meal planning. It saves on money and calories! It hasn’t been as cold here this winter as last, but we’ve been getting a ton of rain. We got 2.3″ just yesterday alone! I can see why Lulu wouldn’t want to go out with those temps!
I was offered Mind Games and House of Glass and I downloaded Village in the Dark, but I’m waiting to download my invites until I hopefully get approval for Winter Lost so my percentages look good. Fingers Crossed! It’s my most anticipated read for the year. I already pre-ordered a signed hard copy (author and artist).
I’m not sure how you did it originally because you are Blogger not WordPress? I used to do Jetpack but they stopped sharing to Twitter and didn’t do all the new socials and started charging. I have cobble together 3 free versions to do everything I need but I could do it all in FS Poster if it worked. Where do you want to autoshare? I can tell you the best free option. I have my daughter involved so I have to have a plan because she is kind of picky plus gluten free. Although sometimes I can’t follow through and just get pizza or eat leftovers if I have some problem that comes up.
I always have about 30 books on Netgalley and I’m at 94-95%. I’m so excited about these new ones. I don’t take as many romance ones as I do mystery, urban fantasy or fantasy anymore. I’m excited to get the ones I do.
It used to share on Twitter automatically through Hootsuite, but they started to charge (I think?) and then I just let it go. I think Bloglovin used to share automatically on Twitter and by emails, but for a while they were down. They seem to be back up, but there’s also spammers on my Waves account that have been able to share posts with my account! I complained, but they obviously never replied. I have no idea what’s going on with that site. I have about 25 books on Netgalley, but 6 are ones that have been on there for years. I keep meaning to read one a month to get rid of them. My percentage still hovers at about 97%, but I get randomly rejected here and there. I don’t request very often. I usually have offers and I’m part of some publisher’s newsletters and that’s where I get the majority of my downloads.
Well for you I’d recommend Dlvr.it because it’s the easiest but I’m not sure how to connect Blogger. I mean you must have RSS feed right? You can only do 2 accounts for free. I’m currently doing Twitter and Instagram. Then I use IFTTT for facebook and to go to Buffer, then Buffer goes to Mastodon. IFTTT only allows 2 free apps and I choose RSS feed to Facebook and RSS feed to Buffer. I also use Buffer for direct share of deals to Mastodon, Instagram and Facebook. For some reason the autoshare will only go to one account but I can do direct shares or scheduled to 3. Again 3 is the most for free. I hoped to consolidate all of this in FS Poster which so far is a no go. If you decide what socials you want to autoshare to I can help you pick the easiest free tool. With Dlvr.it you could go to Twitter and Facebook for free and it’s the easiest. Instagram is trickier because of the image sizing and links, so you do some of the pretty shots and may want that manual anyway.
You got some great new books! How can I resist a book with a title like “The Book that Broke the World”? Now I have to start that series! I hope you have a wonderful week!
Thank you! It was a deluge of new stuff this week. I’d been letting book offers pile up. Mark Lawrence is great. I really enjoyed the first one but be aware they are long and complex books.
Yeah, I agree, that the wind is what gets to one more than the actual temp. My only exercise outdoors this week was snowshoveling two of the days. How frustrating trying to get all your posts to send to the various social media. Yay for finding a Kendall Talbot on sale and I hope you end up enjoying it. We’ve had soup three times this week for mood eating and two casseroles because now is the time for oven heat. 🙂
Have a good week, Anne!
Sophia you are a seasonal mood eater like me! My daughter would eat soup almost every night, soup or pasta. I go through periods where I just crave salad or soup or meat on the grill. I had to try Kendall Talbot based on your recommendations. I hope you have better weather this week. We are warming up.
Sounds like a very busy week! Sorry you’re having so much trouble with FS Poster. I wish there were a better single solution for mirroring blog posts to other sites. At this point, I’m still doing it all manually, and it’s very time-consuming (so sometimes it doesn’t get done.)
I got Mind Games, too, and I’m looking forward to reading it!
Have a great week, and enjoy all those new books!
Thank you Kara. I try to automate so it is consistent times. The freebie apps I use WORK it just took a bit to figure out. In the past year social media has exploded with new alternatives to Twitter. It was easy when I just used Twitter and Facebook. Instagram is so popular, so since I was adding I did that too. I am excited about my new reads.
I don’t share anything automatically. But it sure sounds like you had a full week.
yes it’s been a busy one. I let the apps auto-share so I can do more visiting and commenting or work on posts.
I picked up the new Nora Roberts’ too. It looks really good. I hope you enjoy your books and have a great week!
Thank you Yvonne. I enjoy Nora Roberts.
Darling Lulu💜 She’s snuggling up in this cold weather.
You weren’t kidding about your haul! I added the Briggs book and already have a few of the others on my TBR shelf. I’m hoping they add the audiobook for Mind Games on NetGalley.
Happy reading and have a great week, Anne!
Thank you Jonetta. yes it was a deluge. I will probably get a few of them on audio. If I have all ebooks I have more trouble reading them all. I need a mix. I’m looking forward to the warmer weather this week even if it also means rain.
I used to use IFTTT to share my blog posts on Facebook and Twitter. It was always such a hassle to get it working again when it failed. Sometimes, if I didn’t do anything, it would resolve itself a few days later. Fortunately, I don’t have to dea with it anymore as I’m no longer on Facebook or Twitter/X. I’m glad you were able to get your fixed.
yes, it worked to reconnect a few days later. They only do Twitter connections for $$$ so I don’t do that there.
I just manually share my posts to Facebook and Twitter. I do something different on Instagram. You picked up some great books this week! I am sad that I missed the chat. I will try to read the books with everyone but I most likely can’t do any of the chats since they are in the middle of my only day off. Have a great week!
If you want to autoshare to Facebook and Twitter or Mastodon or Instagram or Blue Sky, the best way is dlvr.it. It’s easy but you can only get 2 socials for free. Buffer lets you have 3 socials for free (no Blue Sky) and I use it for direct share so I don’t have to paste and drag to 3 socials.
Thanks for doing the Read-along with us even though you have read them all. I’m really enjoying them.
Awww Lulu looks all snuggly, warm and cozy. Someone else posted about WTZ, too, and I have added it to my TBR.
Lulu is a snuggler. I am doing a Read-along for 2024 on White Trash Zombies. Try the first one and if you like it, please join us. We have only read the first book and are starting the second. We do one book a month and these aren’t long books. You can find the Read-along posts under the Features tab. https://booksofmyheart.net/category/read-along/
Great haul Anne! I just manually share my posts to FB and X – it makes my life easier. Have a great week ahead.
Thanks Jodie. If you only share to those 2 socials, I recommend dlvr.it. It will do 2 socials for free and it can grab your RSS feed and do it for you. It has worked flawlessly since I set it up.
I feel like little Lulu would blow away in a strong wind! She is so cute and little. 🙂 Keep warm and safe!
Thanks Erin. Lulu is not a fan of cold, snow, rain, or eardrops. She is a fan of snuggles, licking, sweaters, blankets and heat.
I can’t wait to read Winter Lost, but I’ll wait for the audiobook. We were really cold here last week, plus bad storms, so I didn’t walk much at all. Finally yesterday, I did some walking in place inside just to get moving (it was 3F, so I wasn’t going out!) This coming week will warm back up to normal, but a lot of sleet and rain also coming our way.
I’m bummed I missed the chat yesterday, but I just let comments. Also, Moulin Rouge was so much fun – tragic love story, but the music is all contemporary pop (they re-wrote the music a few years ago), so that made it fun to hear so many songs I knew.
So glad to hear you enjoyed your show. It’s been around freezing for the high here but if the wind isn’t too strong we walk. We are also getting the warm up and rain this week. I would like to drop everything and read Winter Lost, maybe if I get ahead a bit. I can’t do audio because I just hear Charly Davidson. Sigh. That happens sometimes. Thanks for leaving comments (especially since you were the reviewer) and joining the FB messenger chat. I love having you in the Read-along. Don’t forget to put Q & A questions and share quotes in the Rafflecopter.
Wow! Black Wolf and Village in the Dark both look good. Sorry I missed the chat. Mr. Barb had to work yesterday (he does one weekend every 2 months) and he got home right when it started. I knew it would be a madhouse bc the dogs always have to meet him at the door and carry in his keys when I open the door. Plus I have had the sniffles for a few days and they seem to be getting work. So far covid is negative but as many people that have it at Mr. Barb’s workplace it’s a wonder we both don’t have it. I am not worried about being on Google meets at all – I do it for work all the time, so I will attend some. I’m so excited to actually “meet” some of you!
So excited to hear you will do some chats and that you loved the first book. It is really awesome to meet people and this is a very accepting group. The Read-along has really been so much fun with the chats. I’ve heard the new strain of COVID JN-1 doesn’t test positive until you’ve had it 3-5 days. I read at least 3 epidemiologist newsletters weekly. I really got the haul of all hauls last week. I’m just surprised I didn’t have any audiobooks in the bunch.
You got so many great books this week!! And as usual you are such a busy bee!
Thanks Sophie. It was a downpour of ARCs this week.
I am looking forward to Kim Harrison’s new series. I hope it will be good. And Off the Air sounds good! I hope you are staying warm. It’s been raining pretty much all day here. At least I got to work from home today. My daughter enjoyed indoor P.E. (not really because she hates PE, but indoor is better than outdoor according to her). I hope you have a great week, Anne!
Thank you Wendy. We are supposed to get more rain this week. It’s much warmer today and humid but not raining yet.. Well I had asthma and allergies so there were aspects to both indoor and outdoor PE for me. My asthma seemed better outdoors but the allergies were better indoors? I’ve outgrown the asthma and have meds for the allergies. I like to get out with the dogs every day. I’m excited about all my books.
My weekend was nonstop busy X_X
yes there is always something to do or needs doing.
I’m a bit behind on my blog visits. Mind Games and Winter Lost are on my list too. Hope you have a great week!
Thank you! The ARCs have been a lot for a couple weeks.
