The first blog I subscribed to was Yummy Men & Kick Ass Chicks. I mean, seriously, that’s what I want to read. Somehow, I realized it was published by a Canadian and when I was riding my Harley up there for an event, I asked Julie if she lived nearby. It turned out she was right on my route, only 50Km from where I was staying, so I could meet her for dinner. She invited me to review on her blog, which I did for the next year until she closed. She taught me a lot and was a joy to have in my daily life.
A week later, somehow, Jennifer, invited me to review at The Book Nympho. I’ve been there for three years. Jennifer and Jonetta have been amazing to work with me. Jennifer was kind enough to let me dabble in pretty much any genre. I am so grateful for all her help and support. I have learned and admired much from her.
I now have started my own book blog. I am challenged by graphics and know little about WordPress, so there will be some bobbles here. Michelle at Limabean Designs is handling my graphics as she is a professional. Ashley has helped me through my additional learning about Ultimate Book Blogger and WordPress. Between now and January 1 , 2018, I am doing some dual posts with The Book Nympho and working on all my setup. There are definitely some things which are a work in progress. I’ll be testing them out over the next month. Luckily, I was able to bring over 3 years worth of reviews.
So I hope you will like me on the Facebook page, and follow me on Twitter and Goodreads, and subscribe to my new blog. I’ll be continuing with my feature of Thrifty Thursday, where I review Kindle freebies. I have a few new features called Friends on Friday, where I will be inviting blogger friends to contribute and link up reviews with their blogs (because friends is a big reason why I blog); and Series on Saturday, where we will discuss monthly the best in a genre with some prizes involved. I’ll be participating in some of my favorite challenges like COYER, New Release, Library and Audiobook ones. I am really glad June is Audiobook month.
I’m lucky enough to have some friends who will be reviewing for me at least once a month, so look for their reviews too. They have differences in styles and tastes and that just makes them all the more interesting to me. I feel grateful and lucky to have them as friends and to go on this journey with me.
There will be a Read-along of a favorite series, once a year, with games and prizes. I am so excited to start 2018 with a Read-along of the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews. In 2019, we are reading the Alex Verus series by Benedict Jacka. In 2020, we will be reading the Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs.
I should also mention I am doing nothing to earn money through this blog. If I include purchase links, it is for your convenience. All other links are to Goodreads information. I do get free books from publishers and authors. I am choosing to blog because I love books and the whole community of book people such as other bloggers, readers, authors, and narrators.
Thanks everyone. I hope to see you all here!
