The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week, and showcase books and things we have received.
Don’t forget to look at my giveaways on the right sidebar. Don’t forget the Sweep with Me Chat today!
Sunday, I got up late because I read until 3 am. Then I realized it’s going to start raining Monday noon until Wednesday noonish. So mowing needs to happen today for the weed n feed on Wednesday. I had planned to mow Monday but the rain is coming sooner. Weirdly the Internet was down but just needed a router reboot. I did some visiting and emails. Then when my daughter got up, after she ate, we tackled the yard. My daughter mowed in the front while I did the edging in all the yard. Then she went in to play games with a friend and I did the backyard. It’s great having it complete. I took a quick second shower of the day and did some more blog visiting. Before dinner, we walked Lulu.
Monday, well it’s not going to rain until tonight. But I’m so glad the yard is done. I made phone calls, visited blogs, set up posts for new ARCs and wrote a few reviews. We walked Lulu. I’m enjoying more open schedule this week.
Tuesday, still no rain. I found I won a Goodreads Giveaway for the Kindle version of Beyond Her Reach by Melinda Leigh! I decided to renew my KU subscription. I did the gift thing but by the time they add the tax it is $11.78 a month which isn’t so different from $11.99. My daughter and I went to pick up RX and bought the ice cream on sale. I wore my new hiking shoes to get used to them when we walked Lulu.
Wednesday, well still no rain. It was supposed to rain this morning but again no. I did the weed n feed and will have to water. I talked to the TruGreen person who was here for a followup spray on the Crepe Myrtle. I wrote some reviews. I watered parts of the back yard for 40 minutes each section. Another nice day to walk Lulu.
Thursday, I woke early which was good because tomorrow will be really early for my daughter’s appt. I did some post setups and wrote some reviews. I worked on menu plans for next week. The ladies came to clean my daughter’s bathrooms, then she had an appt with her nutritionist. I edited my daughter’s paper for her class. Then we went through the instructions for tomorrow’s appt. Our dinner was early because she is going to game night at the bar with the neighbor.
Friday, I got up at 5:30 to take my daughter to the hospital for her 3 hour test. She was nervous but said it wasn’t too bad. We won’t get results for a couple weeks yet. We stopped at Aldi on the way home for a few things. Then ended up getting a few more things at Trader Joes. They had the pumpkin gluten free donut holes. Sadly, I didn’t find them very flavorful. Lulu was happy to see us. We listened to Sweep in Peace in the car and finished it during lunch. Then my daughter went to take a nap. We walked Lulu before dinner. It’s a hotter day, around 91F / 33C, and only slightly cooler tomorrow, then back to the normal of around 80 during the week ahead.
Saturday, I did the usual visiting, sharing, emails. Then I wrote a review. During this week I have done some blog ahead for 2026. Angela, of course, being the whiz she is, has everything set up for the Library Love. I’ve started on the Read-along. I have our regular memes to setup and do some planning also. I created all the Sunday post shells for 2026. So the Library Challenge is the only thing left to set up. Our neighborhood Fall Festival is this afternoon. We went over with the neighbor, and Lulu and Abbey. It was less hot than I worried it would be. It was fun to see people and kids and other dogs. My daughter and the neighbor got coffees and Lulu and Abbey got pup cups of whipped cream with a dog biscuit.
Things I Learned This Week:
OK if I’m asking for help, I’m also going to share the cool things I learn. You may already know them but hopefully it will help someone.
I was adding an author box to a review (Michelle Chouinard) and was thinking I wished I could add the Bluesky, maybe I could put it instead tumblr since I don’t have any of those addresses on authors. So I went into UBB to see if I could change the titles on social media. Instead I was excited to find I can add as many social media or website links as I want in UBB – About the Author. It’s the first item: Extra Author links. So I added Bluesky and Mastodon. Might add Threads. I can see a new project of updating author photos, bios and media links in my future.

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Reading Reality. These are the exciting ARCs I received this week (If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry):
My grateful thanks to Ace Books (3), Head of Zeus – Bloomsbury Publishing, Macmillan Audio, Penguin Audio.

(If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry)
NONE.

Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.

Chirp Friday freebies:

I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.

I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.

Sounds like a busy but productive week! I’m looking forward to the new Richard Osman. Ii have it on hold at the library as they rejected my request. I was a little bummed but realized I don’t have to write a review now! I have my eye on that new Anne Bishop!
It was a good week with almost every day at home. I was able to work on projects and feel like I’m getting ahead. I’m barely on track for reading though with like 10 books seem to be coming out Sep 30. I’m also excited about the Anne Bishop since it seems to be related to the Others world. I’ve always been so interested in the Intuit and this might have some of them.
So I guess the rain never came? We got a small amount of rain last week, which was nice. Lulu looks like she’s enjoying the pup cup! I’m looking forward to Turns of Fate too. Have a good week, Anne😁
No we got precious little rain but a bit mostly overnight. Lulu loves whipped cream. I hope the Anne Bishop includes the Intuit as I have always been fascinated by them.
Ooh, I need to add in the “About Author” thing in my UBB. I don’t always put it in a post because I don’t always go get those things unless it is part of a blog tour, but I might do it more if I had that set up. Will see when I have time to do that. Thanks for the info on it! Sounds like it was a busy week. We had the rain here too. It’s rough when medical procedures don’t get results back right way. Seems like these days they could do that. Hope you have a good week!
Thanks Lisa. If you do the setup it will be available any time you add an author. If you don’t create a record for the author, then there is no author box.
So excited to hear about setting up Library Love challenge! I absolutely LOVE my library!!!!!
Well that’s because any sane person loves their library! I loved it even when I was working 12 hours a day 7 days a week. But I found it hard to pickup and return books so I love the digital options.
Happy Sunday!
Happy Sunday and the Fall Equinox!
Ha! Your weather is as elusive as ours with the predicted rain that doesn’t come or comes when it wasn’t predicted. 🙂 Yes, always feels great when the yard is done for several days. Neat that you got so far ahead on your 2026 posts and planning. The fall festival sounds fun. My friend worked the library booth at this past weekend’s pumpkin fest so we had to go by and visit her- and treat ourselves to cider. 🙂
Have a good week, Anne!
Our Fall Fest seemed rather small this year compared to another year but I’m still glad we went around I hate to water but it may be necessary but it can also be expensive.
I also want to read the new Anne Bishop series and VT is not a Villain Anymore, but I’m going to wait for the audiobooks. My print/ebook schedule is full for November. I’m excited for both. We’ve also had very little rain recently. There is some forecasted for the upcoming week, we shall see. We had a nice day yesterday visiting my daughter at her college for parents’ weekend.
I’m not quite full for November but there are plenty of options. I usually don’t take much for December but there are some good releases then also. Glad you enjoyed parent’s weekend. I don’t think that was a thing so much when I was in college or we didn’t care about it.
I love the cover for Violet Thistlewaite! And I had to go search Dana Stabenow since her name is like an elected official (former) near me. LOL Have a great week!
This Dana Stabenow is from Alaska and has written several long running series. She has also written some scifi and now this new historical mstery.
I hope you have a good week!
Thank you . I’m not looking forward to the hear the next couple days and hope we finally get some rain.
Sweet Lulu💜
Didn’t know there’s a new release in The Thursday Murder Club series! Thanks for the heads up.
Lulu is the best. yes, it’s out next week. I’ve been waiting. I enjoyed the movie, too.
I bet you’re daughter is glad the test is behind her – I hope everything is okay. Have a great week ahead Anne.
Thank you Jodie. She is glad. Now we have somewhat less medical appts after this week and can maybe relax a bit.
Pup cups are the best! Sorry about the rain. It seems like no one is getting any. Glad the test for your daughter wasn’t terrible. Hopefully the results are good.
Thank you Samantha. Even if the test was horrible, we’ve waited so long for some answers we might still want to get through it.
All of your books look so good. I hope you enjoy them. Have a great week!
Thank you. I’m really happy with my books.
I should really dig more into UBB and see what else I want to enable. I don’t know why I resisted it so long, personally, haha — started using it about a year ago, and wish I’d started with it. Thanks for the tip!
Sure. I try to share things when I learn about them. UBB has lots of options and I don’t know everything for sure.
Great book haul. I also picked up those 2 chirp audiobooks. ^_^ I really like UBB. Great for book bloggers.
Have a great week!
Thank you Angela. I couldn’t do it without UBB since I am not so knowledgeable about WordPress.
I love the Anne Bishop cover. I’ve only read one of her books but I really enjoyed. I should try the next one in the series. I hope you’re able to stay home and relax during the rainy days.
Thank you Katherine. I hope some rainy days materialize!
I admire you for prepping so far in advance, I’m so behind on this year that it’s too hard to think about the next, though I know I need to soon,
I’ve added Violet Thistlewaite Is Not a Villain Anymore and Turns of Fate to my WTR list
Wishing you a wonderful reading week
Thank you. I don’t feel so far ahead but I do try to set up the shell of a post whenever I get a new ARC so it is available whenever I get it read. I can always move it out if necessary. The other “blog ahead” stuff is primarily the shell for 52 Sunday posts (including 12 month end ones), the 12 Series on Saturday, 12 Thrifty Thursday posts, and the Library Love posts which Angela does all the work for those like graphics and links. I just help with ideas and funding for prizes The Read-along and Top 10 posts I tend to do as they happen.
We got a little rain one night over the weekend. We were said it did not last longer. Violet Thistlewaite Is Not a Villain Anymore sounds like it will be fun. I don’t know why I like those long titles so much, but I do. I hope you enjoy your reading and have a great week, Anne!
Thank you Wendy. I just started to fill in November and there are so many great options, as always.
Haha! I am immediately jealous finding out that you stayed up reading until 3am! First of all, what book was it that got you so engrossed? Second of all, how are you still so energetic enough to do so much the rest of the week?!
I’m pretty sure it was the Colorado K9 Rescue book. I’m a sucker for dogs.
I should dive more into Blusky.
I share your posts there all the time.
