The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly  @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week, and showcase books and things we have received.

Don’t forget to look at my giveaways on the right sidebar.

Sunday,  I lollygagged this morning. My daughter wished me “Happy Mother’s Day” right away and gave me a gift.  I organized meals for the day and then went on to Sunday visiting . Then we ate brunch bacon and eggs, trying to keep the protein up. The neighbor came over and gave me a lovely flower arrangement for Mother’s Day.  It was for her birthday yesterday but since she goes out of town after tomorrow, she turned them over to us.   Then I got up on the 8 foot ladder and changed all the lightbulbs in the family room and kitchen to new LEDs.  I’ve got the dishwasher and washer and dryer going.  Then we walked Lulu.  We came upstairs for me to finish blog visiting.  I finally have worked out the photos for my Mom’s memorial card too.  Tomorrow will be cloudy so it will be easier to take photos of photos.  Our Hungry root order arrived.  We shopped when we did our errands so we have too many food options.

Monday, today I wanted to finish finding and putting photos into the memorial card.  I did well until I tried to find a photo of Mom with me as a baby.  I don’t seem to have the albums I scrapped for 1955 – 1961.   Also an ancestor history book I did for Mom.   I hunted through all my stuff but the finished ones are all in one bookcase.  I texted my brother to look and see if he has them.  I have a spreadsheet detailing all the books I have created and how many pages they have, so I know I finished them.  It rained this morning but we were able to walk Lulu in the early afternoon. I hauled empty boxes and stuff out to the garage including the big ladder.  Lose It offered me a really good deal on Lifetime $99 so this time I bought it.  I uploaded all the ones I did find to the memorial card. I had to talk to Shutterfly to figure out a few things. I’m behind on everything else and still have 2 things to fix up on the card.  I was late into the usual supper routine because I had to write a review for tomorrow. I got an email where they delayed the delivery of my daughter’s new kindle from today until the 18-19th.

Tuesday, the grocery store caterer emailed that they can get my favorite GF chocolate cupcakes (they suggested them).  I’m doing the usual emails and visiting. I finished up the Memorial Card and ordered 1 sample for me and 1 for my brother.   My daughter went to her driving practice.  I wrote a review.  When she got back, we walked Lulu.  I was going to make chocolate mousse then but my whipping cream had gone bad.  We went upstairs to listen to Platform Decay. While listening I setup some posts.  We listen through dinner, then went to Culvers to get my free birthday scoop. My daughter gave me a handmade necklace, and a coupon for a pedicure.  Now we are listening while I knit a bit.

Wednesday, well this day got away from me.  I did the usual emails and blog visiting.  I texted with the driver school about upcoming appts.  My daughter had her driver practice. Then we were going to pick up something she bought on Facebook marketplace, but she didn’t have the address.  So we walked Lulu while waiting for a text back.   Then we went to pick up the items, and did a Walmart pickup on the way home.

Thursday, I tried to get all my computer emails, visiting, blog edits, writing a review finished before we left for Lulu’s vet appt.  She had all her shots.  Next week we see her other vet for the exam.  One vet we see for shots and the other for exams and emergency care. We like both vets but for different things.  Afterwards, we walked Lulu.   Then my daughter went to do her homework and I went to mow the lawn.  It’s a beautiful day, 72F sunny and cool.  My daughter came out and finished the last bit of the lawn mowing after I had done an hour.

Friday, I started on the usual emails, etc but moved over to writing reviews and setting up some posts. The driving people misunderstood so they didn’t come today. I spent time going through steps to delete a job in the print queue which meant nothing I printed actually printed. I’ve been sending pdfs to my daughter and having her print them for the last couple days. I deleted Mastodon follow from the blog and FS Poster.  The cleaning ladies asked if they could come today instead of tomorrow and that was actually better for us.  My brother started texting me that he couldn’t find the books I thought maybe he had.  I decided I had to go through the boxes in the parlor because I thought they might be in the boxes since I could find my black project boxes where I layout in advance with photos / paper/ stickers I plan to use. I started opening and organizing boxes and I found a box with all the 1960s albums that were not on a shelf already.  It looks like I have completed the 1960s scrapbooks and was into Oct 1970 in my planner box. I just expected the finished books to be on the shelves.  I love a day at home to deal with all these annoying issues.

Saturday was a hurry up day.  We left early to go canvas for Sen Lisa Grafstein and Winn Decker who are our South Wake candidates for NC Assembly.  It was nice and not as hot as last time.  We came home and I tried to eat a little and dozed in my chair.  Then we walked Lulu.  Next it was off to a get-together for Lisa Grafstein with hot dogs and Howling Cow ice cream.  I’m worried that if the Democrats get in office in 2027, that they will be blamed for all the horrible things the GOP set to start in 2027.

Things I Learned This Week:

OK  if I’m asking for help, I’m also going to share the cool things I learn. You may already know them but hopefully it will help someone.

So I noticed this week that Twitter doesn’t seem to allow auto sharing through the API without a paid subscription.  I can still manually share it as a post but I don’t know I want to bother with it every day, just another task.

On Mastodon, I was on romancelandia.club which I heard was being shut down and that seems to have happened also. I maybe could have transferred to a new server if I was more attentive but I wasn’t.

So I guess I am done with Mastodon and mostly on Twitter, through apathy more than anything. But it’s kind of sad.

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by  Reading Reality.  These are the exciting ARCs I received this week (If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry):

book cover for God's Country

My thanks to Karen Odden and Soho Crime,  Atria Books.

(If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry)

Only Hard Problems By Jennifer Estep  Only Cold Depths By Jennifer Estep  Only Rogue Actions By Jennifer Estep

Whispered Lies By Kathleen Brooks

I purchased these in the 2 audiobooks for 1 credit sale. They are all Audible only.

I purchased this one at Chirp for 99¢.

Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.

Chirp Friday freebies:

Book cover for Body Movers by Stephanie Bond Book cover for Fall for Me by Claudia Burgoa

Book cover for Fallible Justice by Laura Laakso Book cover for Come Close (A Hannah Mercy FBI Suspense Thriller—Book One) by Rylie Dark

I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT  they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.

I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.

  1. Sounds like a heck of a week! The weather is finally getting nicer here, but we’ll see if it stays. And the Democrats will be blamed no matter what, I just hope they can win majorities and start fixing this poor country.

  2. Sweet Lulu💜

I left Twitter about two years ago and haven’t looked back. I’m on BlueSky and highly active on IG now. I have GOT to catch up in the Cork O’’Connor series. I miss it.

    Have a great week, Anne!

  3. Yea, Twitter has been bad about it for a while. I also moved over to BlueSky for most posting and Instagram. Sounds like you had a long week. Hopefully you are taking the time you need.

  4. Sounds like a really busy week! That picture of Lulu is adorable, total side-eye! I really want to hire someone to clean my house. Even just once to get a really good, thorough cleaning that I feel like I can start over from. I also need to just replace my kitchen linoleum and that would go a long ways toward helping me feel better about cleaning. Hope you have a good week!

  5. Social media is such a time suck. I gave up on twitter after Elon and I never started Mastodon. I have always said I would want a house cleaner if I ever could afford it. My house needs swept and dusted daily!

  6. Oh my! All the little things that add up to an eventful week for you. Whew, glad you found your pictures in the box. Oops about Mastodon- I fell off the wagon with that one a while ago. Yay for all sorts of birthday freebies and coupons to use. We’re finally getting some steady warm temps through the night so I’m going to put in our garden veggies this week.

    Have a good week, Anne!

  7. Musk really has a lot to answer for with the mess Twitter is in. It used to be… okay, not perfect, but so much better. Everything’s so fragmented now.

Hope you have a good week!

  8. Yes… I regularly dream about having someone to come and clean my house – the older I get the more I begrudge any time spent on housework, which means it doesn’t get done as often as it should! Glad you found the albums. And that photo of Lulu is hilarious – that is SUCH an old fashioned look:). Have a good week, Anne.

  9. The image of you up on the 8-foot ladder changing every lightbulb over to LEDs on Mother’s Day honestly impressed me 😆 And it was so sweet that your neighbor passed along the flower arrangement before leaving town. I’m glad you finally found the missing scrapbook albums after all that searching and stress over the memorial card photos — especially the baby pictures and family history book. The spoiled whipping cream ruining your chocolate mousse plans felt very relatable too. Hopefully the gluten-free chocolate cupcakes make up for it a little! Also, why is Lulu looking at you like that? lol
