The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly  @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week, and showcase books and things we have received.

Don’t forget to look at my giveaways on the right sidebar.

Sunday,  it was another walk after breakfast with Lulu and Abby.  It’s about 10 degrees cooler but the heat index is still bad.  I finished up the baby quilt with a label Made with Love.   My brother, his wife,  daughter and her husband, and baby Jay are meeting us at a play place.  Jay is 18 months.  Then we will have an early dinner before they fly home.  We had a good time but I forgot to take any photos.  It rained off and on which made it much cooler. Jay liked his books and playing at the play place.  He seemed ok with me, using me as a support when he was walking around. The dinner was at a food hall so there were options for everyone.  I had a shrimp taco. My daughter had hibachi shrimp. I shared a cucumber and got some fresh strawberries for Jay.

Monday,  the usual start to the day with breakfast and then walking with Abby and Lulu.  The weather was warm but comfortable.  Apparently last Friday it was 106, the highest recorded temperature here.  I wrote a review, did some visiting.  I finished up my Round 1 reading for BBNYA.   Then I went to pick up 2 RX for my daughter and drop off an Amazon return. I got some posts scheduled.  Then there were some reviews to set up. It felt good to get a bit more organized.

Tuesday,  I made Abby and Lulu breakfast.  I made the honest kitchen oatmeal for Lulu and like yesterday, I made a small portion for Abby, along with her own food.  Abby is bigger so she would need more food generally.  She really likes it; she ate hers and then went after Lulu’s food.  I had to take it away and then put Lulu and her food in the office while I finished my breakfast prep. Another hot day so we walked after breakfast.  It is still nice this early in the morning.  Then it was on to the usual emails, visiting and review setups. I started going through invites from publishers for August and September releases.  It’s so nice to have a light week and more days at home. I had an amazing dinner with fresh tomatoes and basil, from the garden, in a sauce over pasta.

Wednesday, we were all in bed before 10 last night, so I woke up early.  Even with the garbage trucks going through the dogs were quiet.  We walked early again with the heat advisory again this afternoon.  I set up the reviews for Sophia in August finally.  I made a BLT for lunch with another fresh tomato from the garden.  In the afternoon, we went to my daughter’s PT appt and then picked up a couple items at Aldi.  I made a new July reading plan and added August items into it.  I’d been working from the June plan.

Thursday,  I woke up even earlier.  I fed the dogs and Abby was rather determined to get Lulu’s food today.  I took them for a walk and it was nice.  Then I took Lulu to the vet for her allergy shot and some cream.  I worked on some visiting and blog stuff.  Then I did some sewing. I’m making pillowcases out of an old fitted sheet. Then I sewed down the seams on some shirts for my daughter because one side of the seam has plastic and that irritates her.

Friday,  it was a rough night with lots of dog barking. I slept through much of it.  Today is raining with thunder but the dogs are with us in the office and seem fine with it.  Another day where Lulu hasn’t had breakfast because Abby is trying to get it so she can’t free feed like usual.  I did my visiting and wrote a review. I also worked on various parts of the posts for the Mageri Read-along.  I hope even if you have read them before you might share up your reviews since we have GREAT prizes and even participate in the chats. I finished making one pillowcase and now I’m making a bigger one for a body pillow.

Saturday, I woke even earlier today.  After breakfast, the dogs and I walked while it was still comfortable. Then I planted spaghetti squash and pulled weeds.  I made another BLT with a garden tomato again.  I worked on some reviews and the pacing plan for Twist.  The dog photos show them actually in their own beds! Mostly they like to try each other’s beds. We got Lulu 2 new beds this week.  I went to work on sewing the body pillowcase and more shirt seams.  This week starts HOT and then several rainy days where we may or may not get rain.

My grateful thanks to Minotaur Books,

NONE.

Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.

I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT  they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.

I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.

  1. I love the quilt, it reminds me of home😁 So Jay is your grand nephew, right? He’s very cute. I wish my dog would free feed but he loves food so much he gobbles up whatever we give him. We had a chance of rain but we never got any. I wish we would though, so my husband wouldn’t have to water the garden so much. Have a good week, Anne!

  2. How nice to have a lighter week. The heat here has been pretty brutal, too. Even on the days when it’s “only” in the low/mid 90’s he humidity makes it feel well over 100. We had BLT’s one night this week for dinner except I have a BLC (bacon, lettuce, cheese) since I don’t care for tomatoes. Hope you have another light week!

  3. The quilt is beautiful! That’s nice to have a playdate with family and the baby. The heat and humidity here have been brutal these past few weeks too. It’s good to walk the dogs earlier. This morning I walked Otis around 8:30am and it was already getting hot out there.

  4. The quilt looks great! Glad you had a lighter week-those are always nice. Hopefully you stay cool this week-it is suppose to be brutal here today-Wednesday, so I’m guessing it will make its way to you as well.

  5. I love that quilt! It’s beautiful! Quilting is something I wish I did, I have so many cool ideas from things I see. But I probably won’t get into it. Sounds like a nice week. Jay is a cutie! Shame on Abby for trying to get poor Lulu’s food. I used to have to sit with Argyle till he ate his food because he wasn’t one to eat right away like Dora who inhales her food. But once he got fixed he started eating more like she did so now I don’t have to worry about that. Hope you have a good week!

  6. What a great quilt. I not a quilter i very talented in coloring, and paper crafting but not so much in the sewing department. Hopefully it cools down some i glad my dog has a dog run she a small dog so we don’t do much in the walking department. I spent the week installing flooring and then the weekend reading all the books i did not get to due to working on house projects. I think we are in for another hot week but i think hubby wants to take a break from house projects for a while. Hope you have a great week.

  7. Fun that you got to visit with family for a bit. The high dew point with the heat had me wishing I had gills a few days. 🙂
Love your quilt! Those dogs sure have the personalities.

    Have a good week, Anne!

  8. Those temperatures are horrible – especially with so much humidity, which I understand can be very dangerous as sweating doesn’t help to cool you down. Our indifferent summer with temperatures in the mid-60s and frequent rain showers suddenly doesn’t sound so bad… The dogs must really come to life when the temperature properly drops again. I love the sound of a BLT (vegan bacon is surprisingly good) with home-grown tomatoes. Have a great week, Anne:)).

  9. Sorry it’s still so hot where you are. It’s really hot where I am too, but mine is dry heat and I think yours is humid. I’d much rather deal with dry heat, lol. I’m glad it rained a little bit and helped cool things off a bit.

I’m glad you got to spend some time with your family. 😀 I love the quilt you made. I’ve been learning to quilt this year, but I’m still not very good. My sewing machine is weird and it’s hard to keep a 1/4″ seam allowance consistently. I’m convinced I need a new machine but I can’t afford one right now.

I hope you have a great week!

  10. Love the quilt!! Jay is adorable. So is Abby – she’s your neighbor’s dog, right? How long do you have her? (I probably missed your post about it). It’s been hot for us… over a week with 90 high. We don’t have a/c, except for window units. That helps while sleeping. I’ve been busy today working on my European trip.

  11. When I had multiple dogs, they would all get fed in different rooms because they’d get snarly over defending their food. It was the same with toys. A toy would sit on the floor for days. Then one dog would touch it, and they’d all want it. I hope you’re having a great week!

  12. It’s nice to catch up with family and meet the new additions! We were in Southern California last week and just got back yesterday. I’m tired, but it was a good visit. We are finally back to normal summer temperatures after a 10-day heat wave. It was cooler in Southern California! My tomatoes have just started coming out so it’ll be a while before they’re red and edible. Looking forward to them!

  13. I love the quilt! Jay is cutie and a food hall is the perfect option for eating out with lots of people. Those indoor play places are life savers during the summer! I hope you’re having a wonderful week!
