The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly  @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week, and showcase books and things we have received.

Don’t forget to look at my giveaways on the right sidebar.

Sunday, I did chores and visiting.  It’s cloudy and normal winter temp today.  We walked Lulu but got some raindrops.  Coming back, we saw the neighbor and Abbey.  I wrote some reviews, edited some and set up a few. I cleaned up some of the piling up emails.

Monday,  I did the usual stuff. I also made phone calls although I am not feeling like peopling right now. I scheduled a vet checkup for Lulu.  I replaced the filters in the furnace. My daughter and I walked Lulu.  My daughter helped me to move the greenhouse to its space outside. I trimmed back some dead foliage and moved leaves to the corner of the yard. I moved the rest of the dirt load which turned out to be only 2 loads.  I kind of wish I had done it the last time since in between the dirt got a bit wet.  So these last 2 loads were heavier.

Tuesday, today is warmer and windier. I feel like I am catching up and getting some lower priority but great to do things.  I did some setups and wrote a review.  Then I pulled out some knitting patterns and yarn and started a project to do while watching tv.  It’s coming along ok.  Ace Books sent me the prizes for the Edge books.

Wednesday, I got up earlier but lollygagged.  It’s not good.  Today is busy with too much happening.  I prepped for the errands and class. We drove to my daughter’s PT appt and I mailed out the On the Edge prize.  We stopped at home to eat lunch. I had to unpack, label and store the Butcherbox order.  Then I walked Lulu.  We took off again after just over an hour at home to go to the vegetable seeding class.  I made a wrong turn and we were 2 minutes late.  Luckily we were still able to sit together.  We talked about the 3 things we most wanted to do seedlings and 2 of them they said not to do seedlings.  But some of the experts said as we talked to them we could.  The 2 things were spinach and beets. We were able to get them at the garden center last year as transplants and had the most successful time with them.  We have had no luck growing spinach from seeds. I did in Minnesota all the time.  We got lettuce, kale and collard greens planted in the trays they provided to take home.  We spent like 4 hours driving and I do not like that.  It wasn’t as cold as projected and much less rainy.

Thursday,  another day where we will be out and about most of the afternoon. ugh. The weather is warming up today. My daughter has a doc appt. Since it is right near Trader Joes and Aldi’s we will stop for a few things. On the road, I called 2 of my usual garden centers to see what they have available for veggies starts or when they will have them.  We put things aways and then got our trays into the greenhouses and watered them. Then we walked with Lulu..  I worked on a planting plan with info from our classes and seed packets.  I bought collard greens to try and see if we like them before we plant a bunch of them.

Friday,  so much I want to do and glad to have a really nice day at home.  I took care of some setups for new ARCs, went through some emails, some financial stuff.  I read up on cool season vegetable temperature ranges and last frost dates.  I planted Swiss Chard, Spinach, Snow Peas, Beets, Carrots and Lettuce from seed.  We will see how our seedling pots go and what is available at the garden center too.  We already had broccoli and herbs. Lulu scratched herself terribly and has been vomiting so she is going to need some extra care this weekend.

Saturday,  another day with lots to do. I don’t want to go out but there’s an Rx we’ve been waiting to get since December for my daughter’s nausea.  Today is the day insurance will cover it.  I spoke with the pharmacy earlier in the week because I wanted to make sure they would have it in stock.  Of course I get a message this morning it won’t be available until Wednesday!  I called and they agreed to partial fill it so she can get started today.  Mad!  More calls and more trips. Lulu looks better after her allergy pills and cream.  I cleaned out her crate and washed her bedding.  After my daughter got up, I headed out to errands.  I got spinach plants at the garden center, then stopped at Aldi for milk, and last at Harris Teeter for the Rx and a couple sale items.  After I got things put away, we walked Lulu with the neighbor and Abbey.

This week we will have Abbey with us.  The weather, unfortunately, will be cold 35-50F / 2-10C for the high and the lows around freezing/  Also, rain for 3 days.

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by  Reading Reality.  These are the exciting ARCs I received this week (If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry):

Thanks so much to Poisoned Pen Press,  Partners in Crime Tours,

(If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry)

I purchased this Audible Daily Deal for $2.

Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.

Chirp Friday freebies:

I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT  they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.

I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.

  1. I like the colors on your knitting project. I wish I could garden. No amount of reading or studying has ever helped me. Spellbound at Pemberley looks good. Have a wonderful week!

  2. Oh no, how did Lulu scratch herself? I hope she’s doing better. Poor girl. I love how much you plant. I don’t eat many veggies, lol, so it wouldn’t make sense for me to do any of that, but I kind of wish I could do more food on my own that way. But without a cattle ranch, pig or chickens, or potatoes, not sure there’s much I could do. I guess I could do goats for cheese! lol. You had a crazy busy week, but sounds like some good things, like the seed class! Hope next week is good too!

  3. We are recovering from our second snow in 4 days. Luckily my husband is home and we could use the blower. Now it’s sunny so the driveway is clearing well. We are supposed to have another storm Thursday.

I had a good blog day yesterday – wrote reviews for all of the books I’d finished and started two new books. I’m trying to get ahead because I took on more review books than I normally would – there were just so many I want to read/listen to!

  4. Now snow here. It was in the 70’s for a couple of days this week. We just found out that we are getting 3 new Aldi’s here. I’ve never been in the store before. It’ll be interesting when they open to see how the prices are compared to the other stores here.

    • Thanks Jodie. We are supposed to be having a warmer than usual winter (forecast) but not so much. This week will be colder and much rainier than normal if it goes to forecast. We often get less rain than forecast. I would love to know what you grow in your greenhouse. Our lettuce from last week’s class has sprouted. It has to be a bigger to thin and plant though. I think that will be harder work for me.

  5. Poor Lulu, but she looks cute in her begging pose. 🙂 That veggie seed class sounds interesting though too bad you had to drive so far for it. Lots of running around which would be tiring for you. My turn a few days this week (between snow storms, LOL).

    Have a good week, Anne!

    • Thank you! Lulu is much better. I think she ate a weed and has gotten it all out now. My daughter has only started the med so we will have to wait a bit and see. The lettuce we planted has sprouted and is tiny. I’m not sure we could eat all the collard greens or kale we seeded even if we had enough garden space. We will see how things grow. It’s always a bit experimental when I plant to see if it works out. I have lots of fresh soil I just set up so I have higher hopes for success.

  6. That’s so frustrating about your daughter’s medication. I am glad the insurance will finally cover it though and you were able to get some until you can fill the whole thing. Your new books look good! Spellbound at Pemberley caught my eye right away. I hope you enjoy all your new books! I finished Bayou Moon last night. I hope you have a great week, Anne.

  7. I started my seeds indoors with grow lights. My brother-in-law lent us his pricey one that’s pretty powerful and my seedlings are already root bound! I have to transplant to bigger pots today. I have other grow lights, but they aren’t as powerful, and weren’t as expensive. They work well enough. I hope your seedlings do well. It always feels like trial and error to me, haha! It’s been really cold here at night. We wake up to 25 degree weather with frost everywhere. We have rain coming, too. I’m off to Montana tomorrow and it’s going to be frigid! We’re supposed to go skiing the warmest day when the high will be 24! Yikes!
