Sunday, I woke at a reasonable time after a good sleep. I did some blog visiting and got organized to finish up projects and prepare the garden for the freeze Monday night. I took stuff out of the cubbies in my rolltop desk so we could repair the cubbie structure. I ordered some new freeze covers for my plants. I enjoyed my chat for the Read-along. Then I got right to work on tasks, picking peppers and tomatoes. Then we walked Lulu with the neighbor and Abbey. The weather was glorious! I picked up all the bush trimmings before dinner. My daughter blew leaves to the curb in the front yard.
Monday, I got going well. My ex was finishing up the last things before leaving. I was trying to help my daughter find materials to better help her with one of her current classes. My Amazon order came with nice covers which hopefully will protect the basil. The wind was bitterly cold. We helped my ex get all his stuff to the car. Then we walked Lulu and covered the basil and lemon verbena and the lettuce.
Tuesday, brrrr. I slept in late. I started out thinking today would be relaxed and somehow I looked at the things I have been sliding and realized I have plenty to do. Mostly I’m behind on review books so I need to get to reading! Which is good but with projects I was kind of distracted. I started setting up the Top 10 posts for year end. I did help my daughter edit a paper for one of her classes. I just felt cold all day.
Wednesday, I didn’t get up early but the weather is more back to our normal this time of year. The lemon verbena and lettuce look fine but the basil is a bit sad after the cold weather. I worked on the usual things with blog visiting and setting up some posts. My daughter and I created a 2026 calendar for her dad. I set up my health account for next year with a new provider.
Thursday, I got going earlier to get more tasks handled. I found lots more ARCs to read. My daughter had an afternoon appt with her nutritionist. We walked Lulu and it was cloudy but still a nice day.
Friday, a few things got accomplished but before noon we took Lulu to a vet appt for her regular shots. On the way back, I picked up a few things at Aldi’s and Food Lion. We started listening to System Collapse (Martha Wells) after finishing Sweep of the Blade (Ilona Andrews). I made a batch of Lulu food.
Saturday, I did the computer stuff in the morning but also cleaning up the new half bath and vanity so we are all set to put things in the drawers. After lunch my daughter helped me with repotting a basil plant to have indoors. Then she blew leaves in the front yard into the street. I used brush spray under the big bush trees. I started taking down the tomato plants. When she finished the front yard, I had her work on the tomato plants and I blew the leaves in the backyard. I watered all the plants in front and in the back yard. Tomorrow will still be mid 70s and I want to get the compost into the beds which are finished and put cardboard on the top. I still have lettuce and herbs, and the green peppers don’t look bad after the one cold night. By the time we did all the yard work it was dark but we still took Lulu for her walk. This week ahead looks nice with mid 60s and not much chance of rain.

I read all types of books but my favorites are urban fantasy and romantic suspense.I like some romance and some action / adventure / mystery in everything.I like sex in my books but please, only between TWO people.Intimate conversation is equally important to the sex in a book.It lets me see the characters.The other thing I enjoy is humor.

yes it’s a sad week without new Lulu photos. I won’t get to the Feeney book for a bit either. There were a LOT of books released this month!
We will have rain/snow all week on and off, and it’s cold here! Not really looking forward to winter, but I guess i have no choice! lol. I can’t believe it’s time to start thinking about year end/best of posts. Have a good week!
Thanks Tammy. I just wanted to announce doing the Top 10. I won’t think about it for at least a month yet. I have so many more great books to read this year. I’m loving our autumn here with 60s-70s. The real cold here will be late December and January. But the forecast is for a bit warmer winter.
Love the bathroom vanity! I wanted one like that, I like to have a drawer or two, but couldn’t find one to fit in my tiny bathroom. So when I did my remodel I found one with a kind of tiny drawer at the top that goes around the sink. Sounds like you got a lot done! I’m surprised you just blow the leaves into the street? I thought that made it slippery for motorcycles to do that? Or maybe I’m thinking about what they say about grass cuttings being left in the street. I don’t even mess with the leaves. Not that I get a ton in my yard. Hope you have a good week! The Read-along chat last weekend was fun! Looking forward to the next one!
Thanks Lisa. I love when you can join the chats. The leaves are just along the curb. The city comes by every other week in a truck with a big hose sucker and gets them. I put out the front yard ones and the back yard ones go into compost. The vanity replaced a pedestal sink which had no space around the sink and no storage. This vanity is just 24 inches wide.
We got 2.5 inches of snow on Monday. Yesterday, it was 70. I can’t keep up with this wild weather. I’m always so envious of how ahead of the blogging game you are-I haven’t even finished my review for this week! Looking ahead to December seems so far away from me right now! Have a great week!
Oh Samantha. I’m still reading books for this week to review. I do set up the posts for the days I plan to review with graphics and blurb and buy links so all I have to do is plunk in the review at the last minute. I don’t like being behind, ie reading books for the current week. November had a lot of new books I wanted to read though. But I love planning ahead. I won’t fill in my top 10s until mid December.
You’ve gotten so much done in the last few weeks. Hopefully, your review books will be easily tackled. It got drastically cooler for us, but I live for the cool weather so I was loving getting out and raking leaves on Saturday and getting out for longer walks this past week. Nice haul of freebies.

I love your vanity unit – it’s exactly what I’m looking for when we get a new bathroom sometime next year! We still need to get out and tidy up the garden in readiness for winter – although one of the reasons why I’ve dragged my feet is that it is still so very mild and everything is still madly growing. I hope the coming week is a good one, Anne.
Thank you Sarah. It’s still mild here. The wind has been a bit brutal some days. Tonight will freeze but then another week of mild days. I have the finished beds cleared but now want to put down the compost on a not so windy day. I still have lettuce and herbs. The tomatoes are ripening nicely on the dining table.
I received My Husband’s Wife in audio format too and look forward to listening to it after the holidays. I hope we both enjoy it Anne.
I’m think it will be a shocking twist as her books normally are.

Our outside basil gets huge so we don’t bring it inside. But we did buy a new small basil plant to put on the shelves in the south bay window with the African violets, orchids, Christmas cactus and aloe plants. I look forward to any of your Top 10s you will share.

Is the Chloe Neill book a new series? If so, I’ll need to take a look. We were actually around all weekend, although I participated in a workshop Saturday and my husband went golfing on Sunday. It was the last day for the course to be open and it happened to be his birthday, so it was a special outing. This week will be getting the house back in order now that the painting is done.
The Chloe Neill book is a brand new series. It must be lovely getting things all situated the way you want.

I certainly got a pile of ARCs. The hard thing about audiobook ARCs is that they are released much closer to the release date and if they are long it’s tough to get them done for release date.
