The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week, and showcase books and things we have received.
Don’t forget to look at my giveaways on the right sidebar. The chat is this afternoon on Discord!
Sunday, I was lazy getting up since Lulu is supposed to be on crate rest. When I took her out, it was about 10 degrees warmer than the last few days, so I picked up lots of poop. It was a gray day and I was kind of headachy all day. I visited blogs, edited posts, did the usual chores. I took soup to the neighbor. Now since we have a tv, we did lots of checking into streaming deals. We split this up with the ex so it’s not as expensive. He bought Paramount+ and Disney+Hulu bundle ($4.99/month). I got Peacock and HBOMax ($2.99/month). The HBOMax includes Discovery+ which we were paying $5.99/month. Yes we also have Netflix and Amazon Prime. Still not including Amazon Prime our monthly bill is only about $15.
Monday, I did things but slowly. With steady work on tasks, I did get quite a bit accomplished. The weather was a bit warmer 50s instead of 40s.
Tuesday, it’s raining this morning and colder. I have the new Audible sale to peruse this week. But my daughter had a doctor appointment. I picked up a few things at Aldi, and then to CVS to get a lotion my daughter was to try.
Wednesday, well things started well. But then I realized Mailpoet, Followit and WordPress aren’t sending my post emails. I was working to finish off my read for tomorrow’s review. I helped my daughter a bit with her homework. I got an email from Duke saying they accepted my application and I’m on a waitlist BUT I got an email Sept 4 saying I’m accepted and capacity is reserved. I just feel battered.
Thursday, I ranted and worried over my big issues from yesterday. It turns out my solar installer filed my application to the wrong division. So I may be out the rebate. Ashley gave me some suggestions and did some things to help with the “email” issues.
Friday, I woke up at 2:30am and only managed to sleep again 6:30-7am. The changes didn’t save in the DNS that Ashley did but she re-entered them and now they worked! The Mailpoet authenticated so it may be online again tomorrow. Fingers crossed. My daughter had two appts today. First was the neurologist and things are going well. In 2025, she has had 22 migraines, compared to 121 migraines in the last 9 months of 2024. So things are much better! Then she had her now monthly PT for the EDS. I was worried the appts were too closely scheduled but there was enough to fit in my car inspection between them. Then the cleaners came to do the 2 bathrooms. Somehow, they didn’t come the whole month of November.
Saturday, after 2 nights of only sleeping about 4 hours I slept through last night about 10 hours. The Mailpoet did work! I figured out how to resend the missing posts too, so you may get 5 emails all together. Lulu is lively but that could be the pain meds. She has her checkup this week. The vet actually emailed me to see how she is doing. I have chosen the right vet after our vet “shopping.” For the first time ever, we will have both Marley and Abbey for 3-4 days including Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I helped edit a paper for my daughter. I have a lot of things on my task list yet. I still need to get to the Audible sale, and do menu planning tomorrow and the Read-along chat on Discord.
Things I Learned This Week:
OK if I’m asking for help, I’m also going to share the cool things I learn. You may already know them but hopefully it will help someone.
Mailpoet has been sending me emails about needing to change things in the DMS Manager. But I wasn’t able to get those changes to work 2 years ago. It didn’t send emails for 3 months but then started again. I tried to make the changes and it didn’t send today. I also noticed I’m not getting Followit emails and checked and my Followit feed has been deactivated! So really the best way to get my blog notifications is WordPress or follow on Feedly in my opinion. Okay, the Mailpoet is working again.I had removed the signup for it when I did Followit but Followit didn’t even notify me when it deactivated and so anyone who subscribed there was just lost to me.
November Reading:
I managed to read 16 books. Audiobooks continue to help me read more. Some count for more than one challenge.
- 15 Audiobooks
- 2 Library books
- 16 COYER
- 4 Books I Own
All Library books (including ones not reviewed on the blog) 2025 Library Love Challenge
I did manage to read 4 books I own (goal is 3 per month):
- 🎧 Incriminating Evidence by Rachel Grant
- 🎧 Betrayals by Kelley Armstrong
- 🎧 Sweep of the Blade by Ilona Andrews
- 🎧 Rituals by Kelley Armstrong

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Reading Reality. These are the exciting ARCs I received this week (If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry):
My sincere thanks to DAW Books, Minotaur Books, Tantor Audio (2),

(If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry)
I used my last 4 Audible credits to purchase these so I could cancel and get offered a new annual plan with 12 credits for $86. I also got a $15 credit for using 3 credits.

Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.

Chirp Friday Freebies:

I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.

I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.

Lulu looks great💜 Hope her checkup goes well.
I did get about five emails for your posts so thanks for the explanation. Glad you picked up some great Audible sales. I’m thinking of doing a special edition today to feature my Cyber Monday purchases.
Have a great reading month, Anne!
Thanks Jonetta. I have to finish up my purchases today in the sale. So mine will show up in next week’s Sunday post if I share them.
I did finally get a bunch of email notifications for your posts yesterday, but I follow with WordPress and don’t ever see your posts in the WP reader. I always have to remember to check in my browser for new posts. Sigh. Its not just you, I’m not getting any blog email notifications anymore, so maybe its an issue with my email.
I’m glad you’re spending Christmas with Marley and Abbey. I can’t imagine not having my dog with me on Christmas!
Thanks Tammy. I asked Ashley about he WordPress reader because yes, although I am subscribed. The last post that shows is August 27, 2025. I wondered if I need to make the WordPress a safe sender but the posts aren’t there in WordPress so that wouldn’t help. But it comes up in Feedly. And now I the Mailpoet was only off for 5 days since Ashley helped me with the DNS settings. I
Sounds like a stressful week! I think I got like 4 emails for your blog just yesterday or today? That’s so frustrating. I hope Lulu is still doing okay. That’s the only problem is that the meds don’t keep them from being active since they think they are okay. I probably won’t make the chat today. I just have too much to do with my house guest and how crazy my week has been. So I will miss chatting, but am doing my best to be at the next one!
Sorry we won’t see you today. I know how it is needing time to yourself though.
I forgot to check and I see it in your banner, you are doing the Top 10 again? Do you have a graphic for it yet? I am starting probably a little bit before you hare starting it because I know I do one or two more days than you have listed, so was wanting to maybe get started! But I can make my own graphic for those other days if I need to.
I am always amazed at how many books you ùanage to read Anne!
Thanks but it was a poor month. I just didn’t get reading the ebooks, too tired.
That’s great news about your daughter’s health. I’m glad she’s doing better. So what’s the deal with Duke? I didn’t realize you were looking at going to school? I’m clearly missing a lot of the story. I hope it works out for you.
My week was pretty quiet. I took my daughter back to school last Sunday, and my son returned to his school. This Sunday, we are going to see my daughter’s dance recital and next week she’s done for the semester!
Thanks Jen. I’m sorry I was confusing. Not Duke University, Duke Energy Progress for my solar installation. I chose one of Duke certified installers supposedly with massive experience in doing the solar rebate applications. She put the wrong division so I may be out a $9000 rebate. Its a gut punch.
Oh!! That is a huge gut punch. So sorry to hear. That is so frustrating!!
Sounds like it was a busy week. Lulu looks good. Glad your daughter’s health is good news. I’m glad you got your emails working again. I was having trouble with Feedly and Followit. Great book haul this week. Happy Reading!
Thanks Angela. This time they were only off for 5 days. I’ve given up on Followit because they deactivated my account without even notifying me. My daughter has made some good progress over the past year.
I hope the sort out your solar rebate!! That was a significant amount of money! It doesn’t seem right that it couldn’t just be submitted to the correct division! I’m glad Lulu is feeling better. We had a similar problem after Luna was fixed-the pain meds worked but she was suppose to stay calm so she didn’t rip out her stitches. It was rough. Hope you have a good week!
Thanks Samantha. We will see what this week brings. I’m hoping the vet can tell how/if she’s healing.
I hope you enjoy all your new books!
Thank you! I’m sure I will as I get to them.
Woohoo for a milder week and time to get tasks done. I’m glad you finally got a full night’s sleep. Ugh, on mail poet troubles. Hopefully that will stay up and running now. Great news about your daughter’s headaches being way down. I always feel badly for her when you mention she’s having the cluster headaches again. That’s a great idea splitting all the TV memberships with your ex. I use my brother’s accounts now and then and he only takes like a quarter the cost toward his subscriptions rather than have my own b/c I don’t watch enough TV to make it worth it.
Nice review haul and hop you find some fun ones in the sale. Way to go on your November numbers. You were so busy last month that you got a lot read and listened to.
Have a good week, Anne!
Thank you Sophia. It was a rough reading month. I nearly always have 20 or more. But we had Abbey with us for almost 2 full weeks and that upturns my schedule a lot. My daughter watches a lot more TV than I do. But I usually watch with her around dinner which has cut into reading time this year as well. I think the Mailpoet is good now.
If you’re out of a rate because of their error they should compensate you! That would be very frustrating! Sorry I’m missing the chat today. I’m working. I’m on my lunch break now. I nesd ro go through the Audible sale too.
Thanks Rachel. That’s what I think. So I’ll have to see what I can find out this week. Sorry to miss you today but I sure hope you are feeling better.
I hate when the tech goes crazy, sorry you had to deal with it. Looks like you picked up some great books recently though
Thanks Steph. It was a crazy week but good books help and finally getting back on schedule so I’m not reading the book the day before the review!
Sounds like you had a good reading month in November. I really need to get more into audiobooks. I have a few I want to listen to, but I need to make time for them.
Hope you have a great week!
I don’t know, it was one of my lowest reading months this year. Audiobooks are great for multi-tasking. It’s tv which is eating up my ebook time right now.
That is dramatic results regarding your daughter’s migraines! What an improvement. Sounds like you had a good reading month. Have a great week Anne.
yes and really most of the 121 migraines were between April and August, those 5 months because after about a week in September she was on the new med and only having 0-2 migraines per month. But we have to fight every year for the medications which actually work for her. Everything needs prior authorization. It was a little bit low reading month because I struggled with ebooks.
I hate when something that should be a minor annoyance, like the email issue, turns into a multi-day project. And then Duke, and worrying about Lulu. I hope the vet thinks she’s on the mend. And wow, what an improvement on the migraine issue for your daughter. I hope the number continues to decrease.
Thank you Olivia. You got right to the heart of things. I am glad that the migraines are only 1-2 a month now. I just have to fight every year so she has access to the medication. The abortives also work when she does get a migraine so that is going pretty well.
Urg! That is a huge amount of money to miss out on when it wasn’t your fault!! It’s especially annoying as you clearly researched your solar installer carefully and thought your installation was in a safe pair of hands. Grrr… Glad to hear of the improvement in your daughter’s health – that is a massive lessening of the issue. And migraines are soooo painful and disabling! I hope the vet gives Lulu a clean bill of health, too. It’s always miserable when pets and children are ill! I hope this week is going well, Anne:).
Thank you Sarah. It’s been a bit of a quiet week which I like. Tomorrow we find out what the vet thinks about how Lulu is doing. I’m obviously thrilled we found something that works for my daughter’s migraines, now if insurance will keep covering it.
Yayyyyy Kelley Armstrong!!!!
KA is a huge favorite!
It sounds like you’ve had quite the week. 🫂 I hope this next one is better and less stressful.
Well this past week was a bit better. We got to stay home more which means I get more stuff finished.
Lulu looks so cute in her lil outfit!
I don’t know how she does it. She looks stunning in everything.
