The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week, and showcase books and things we have received.
Don’t forget to look at my giveaways on the right sidebar.
Sunday, it’s so windy and the temperature has dropped all day. I bundled up and stayed inside. My daughter walked Lulu. I did my blog visiting, emails, worked on a spreadsheet for finances. I talked to my brother again about the different investments.
Monday, not too bad with the winds low and now from the south. We walked Lulu early, then my daughter was able to get into her homework. I wrote a review and created another setup. I did get an appt with the dentist. I also scheduled a quick checkup with my regular doctor. The hellebores are blooming and the camelia. I finally did the menu plan.
Tuesday, Lulu was barking at about 3:30am. I took her out to potty which she did and then didn’t want to go back in the crate. I wasn’t able to go back to sleep but I rested a bit. It felt cold but it was also o dark thirty. I did my visiting and wrote a review. I went downstairs to peel and chop 14 apples to make applesauce. Then we went for a walk and the neighbor was coming out at the same time. After, we put out the garbage, recycle and yard waste I had gathered this morning.
Wednesday, I did my usual visiting and emails in the morning and then went to the doctor checkup. I wanted to do some labs and ask some questions about vitamins. Then I shopped for a few items at Aldi and then picked up my daughter’s Rx at Harris Teeter. We walked Lulu shortly after I got back and then my daughter had a doc appt. I tried to do a bit more paperwork but gave up after a bit and went down to start dinner.
Thursday, Lulu barked at me a little after 5am. I hope she gets out of this pattern. It seemed like I had the whole day open and I’m not sure what I accomplished. It was very cold and windy so we didn’t walk Lulu.
Friday, still chilly but not as windy. After the usual morning visiting and emails, we went off for the afternoon errands. First Lulu had a quick vet visit for her allergy shot. She was really whiny waiting and wanted to meet all the other dogs, even the big ones she is usually afraid to approach. Then we stopped at BJs for a pickup order. Our location finally has rotisserie chicken after 6 years not, but they won’t let you add it to a pickup order which Sam’s Club does now. Sadly Costco has no curbside pickup which I prefer. After I got all the items put away, we walked Lulu. It was still chilly enough I wish I had worn gloves. The blog was all wonky so I couldn’t do any work last night.
Saturday, today seems warmer and is supposed to get to 52F / 11C but then it will be cold again this week. In fact tomorrow will be rain and maybe snow! The blog is back to more normal so maybe updates were happening or something. I did my visiting and emails. I didn’t get very far with much else today. I did look for some items we need online. We walked Lulu and it was better with a south wind but I bundled up anyway because I was cold yesterday. We have no appointments out this week which is perfect.

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Reading Reality. These are the exciting ARCs I received this week (If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry):
Many thanks to Grand Central Publishing.

(If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry)
NONE.

Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.

Chirp Friday Freebies:

I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.

I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.

I’m not a fan of wind, so I hope yours doesn’t last long. I love the photos with Lulu and her toy😁 Have a good week, Anne!
Thank you Tammy. Lulu got that red fox for Christmas and his name is Franky. Her longtime favorite is Peggy Panda.
Sweet Lulu💜
Light book additions this week. I’m holding out for the audio version of Hope Rises despite that cliffhanger ending.
Have a great week, Anne!
Thanks Jonetta. I also want the audio version of Hope Rises. But I never know if I will get things so I take the ebook version sometimes, just in case. And it helps with spelling and things.
Aw Lulu. It was windy and really cold here last week and now its been freezing and snowing all weekend. Enjoy your books this week.
Thanks Naida. Brrrrr.
We’ve had lots of wind and the cold here again! I was having issues the last two days with being able to get to the dashboard to get things done on my blog. It was a little frustrating and I realized this morning that one of the things I wanted to put in my weekly wrap-up I forgot because I’d given up yesterday with how slow it was and then forgot when I went back to finish up the post last night. My dogs were not going right to sleep in their cage a few nights this week and I’m not sure why. I hope that doesn’t become a thing for them! I just really need my first half of the night without them because I love snuggling with them, but they tend to take up the bed and with Dora’s issues with her neck last spring I’m just worried I’ll roll over on her or something. It’s better for her to sleep in the cage where there is less room to move about and get hurt. I hope you have a good week!
Thanks Lisa. We are hanging in there.
I hope you won’t get snow. I’m finally getting into audiobooks, but I seem to do best with memoirs, which I don’t normally read. As an audiobook, they are good.
I hope you enjoy your books and have a great week!
Thank you Yvonne. It took me awhile to get going on audiobooks and the initial listening I did was with CDs and an boombox or computer with CDs from the publisher or library. The digital versions I can access on my phone apps are so much easier.
I was able to get out for three days to walk. It was in the 20’s, but dry. Then ice and snow came in the next storm which kept me inside for a few days. Gave me time to start my annual closet and cabinets’ cleanout/re-org. Ugh, dog wakeups at o’ dark thirty would definitely be annoying. Sounds like you got lots of your shopping errands run this week and kept busy.
Have a good week, Anne!
Thank you Sophia. We need to join you in the not quite annual closet cleanout project. I think I just need to stabilize Lulu’s food and she will have an easier time. Although it is maybe related to the Glandex the vet recommended for her. Some scientific observation over the next couple weeks will tell.
That cold wind is awful. I’m not a fan of cold as it is but the wind makes it impossible to deal with. I love the pictures of Lulu with her little fox toy! I hope you have a great week and enjoy your reading – and stay warm!
Thank you Katherine. The speed and direction are related to how excited I am to go out or how much bundling I need to do. Lulu is so cute with her toys. She has an avalanche of them. She is very smart and knows they are hers. She chews on them but never anything of ours.
I don’t like wind either. And I always sleep poorly when it’s windy. Let’s hope Lulu will let you rest better this year.
Thanks Sophie. You have your own duo of shenanigans.
The wind really makes the cold temperatures unbearable to be out and about in! We don’t get much wind here because of all the pine trees but we used to get a lot where we lived in Southern California. Not a good thing especially with there being a fire danger for most of the year. I’m a little baffled by our weather here right now. We’ve been having highs in the upper 60s, but it’s supposed to cool down next week. It was a mild summer for us, too. We did get a really late snow last year that ruined my wisteria blooms. This year I’ll be watching the forecasts closely and will cover any vulnerable plants with landscape blankets. We have one around our Meyer lemon tree right now because we were getting lows in the 20s a week ago!
I still need to listen to the first Nash Falls book then I’ll request the second.
Gardening in most locales seems to require apt attention to conditions which may vary between years. I’ve been learning about NC and on top of that the years aren’t the same.
We had a couple of very windy days as well. It made things super miserable. I had some wonky blog stuff yesterday. It was strange! Have a great week!
I pay close attention to the wind speed and direction when we are walking. yes I think those of us hosting with Ashley there were some updates or something happening which was a bit frustrating.
Im not a fan of wind either. I’m sorry that you’re not getting a full night’s sleep. Hopefully you will soon.
Thank you Jodie. I’m trying to make my bedtime and wake up more consistent. But sometimes I want to stay up and read or sleep late or feel tired or whatever and that messes things up. I need to hold the line a bit better.
Aw, the Lulu photos are cute. Hope you have a good week!
Thank you Nicky. Lulu is best girl with her new toy.
We had roller coaster weather this week, too. It hit 50 at the beginning of the week, and by Friday, it was 0F with the wind chill. It snowed yesterday! I had a good week with my family all home. My son went back to school on Saturday and I took my daughter back today (Sunday). I miss them already!
Well you can appreciate them more when they are not there all the time. I’ve never had that as my daughter is always with me and I like that. We get along well. I wish the weather would pick a 10 degree range for daytime high and stay in it!
Maybe Lulu is unsettled by the wind too? I hope she lets you get more sleep this week.
Wishing you a happy reading week, stay warm x
Thanks you Shelleyrae. It is possible the wind bothered Lulu. She is usually totally quiet.
A cold north wind kept us taking our dog out for his usual beach walk yesterday, but fortunately the wind calmed down today. Valentino was glad to get out and run!
It was freezing rain yesterday so Lulu was thrilled to get out today.
We did get a bit of snow yesterday, but it was wet and turned to slush once it stopped. But we may get more this coming weekend! Typical January weather in NC. lol I almost picked up Ren from Chirp, but then decided to pass. I did pick up The Pike (and another) a bit ago when it was on special. My library there is getting quite massive. lolol
Carol I have 16 audio book player apps and they are all jammed full of audios! Audible and Chirp are the biggest other but Netgalley is getting there. We got freezing rain and the ground was hard frost when we went out this morning. It is just up and down. Today was fine 45 sunny and tomorrow will be cold again and then almost 60 later in the week. Pick a lane weather!
I haven’t done so little over a weekend in a long time – and a three-day weekend at that! Today was supposed to be blizzardy all day, so I planned not to leave, but next weekend is supposed to be bitter cold. If I didn’t have to work outside the home, I’d be going for full on hibernation by now.
That cold and windy weather doesn’t sound nice. I look forward to spring. Sounds like you had a lot going on with that doctor visit, dentist and then a vet visit too. Glad to hear your blog troubles got resolved quickly. I hope you have a good week!
Thanks Lola. Tomorrow will be 60F / 15C and the next day will be 32f/0C and we may get snow. The temperature will sit around freezing for the next week. And I have to go out for 2 appts next week. BRRRR
I have fallen behind on blog visits, hoping to catch up this weekend. I hope you have a wonderful week ahead!
Thank you! I’m behind on my ARCs or barely current.
When is spring? I’m over this cold.
Me too. Especially the freezing rain that make walking outside dangerous and driving.
