Eden Fox, an artist on the brink of her big break, sets off for a run before her first exhibition. When she returns to the home she recently moved into, Spyglass, an enchanting old house in Hope Falls, nothing is as it should be. Her key doesn’t fit. A woman, eerily similar to her, answers the door. And her husband insists that the stranger is his wife.
One house. One husband. Two women. Someone is lying.
Six months earlier, a reclusive Londoner called Birdy, reeling from a life-changing diagnosis, inherits Spyglass. This unexpected gift from a long-lost grandmother brings her to the pretty seaside village of Hope Falls. But then Birdy stumbles upon a shadowy London clinic that claims to be able to predict a person's date of death, including her own. Secrets start to unravel, and as the line between truth and lies blurs, Birdy feels compelled to right some old wrongs.
My Husband’s Wife started out kind of slow and strange. There were multiple characters – Eden, Birdy and Carter – who we got their points of view. There was also a few others. We start with Eden and it was strange. I felt kind of sad for her.
Carter is the handsome policeman and I didn’t like him really. He’s a bit entitled and selfish. He’s young so he might improve. Birdy is the character I really liked and I enjoyed it most when she was telling us the story. She’s a talented police detective but has a cancer diagnosis she doesn’t expect to survive.
I don’t want to say too much and spoil the story as it’s a stunner. Just when you think you know anything, you really don’t. It twisted and turned me right up to the exciting end.
Narration:
I don’t believe I have listened to two of these narrators previously but I really enjoyed their performance. With three narrators, each handling different points of view it was easier to differentiate the characters. The voices were appropriate and allowed me to feel and stay in the story.t the happenings. There were some faint accents which sounded right to me. I listened at my usual 1.5x speed.

That’s it! I’ve held off as long as I can. Starting this next. Great review, Anne💜
hehehe it is twisty which I love.
Wonderful review, Anne, I’m very excited to read this. Feeney always writes the best twists😁
Thanks Tammy. She does write the best twists and I struggle to write a review which doesn’t spoil but also is not too vague.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Thanks Angela. That’s what I do. I love her stunners.
I’m going to try the audio for this one – especially based on your comments. I love audio for thrillers!
I prefer audio most of the time as it’s easier to do more things.
I’m glad you enjoyed this one, I’ve seen it around.
The author is popular for a reason. I don’t always like thrillers but she makes such crazy twists.
I’m starting this one as soon as I close my computer! Sounds very twisty!
Yes absolutely stunning. It always seems to be out of the blue too. I have no idea it’s coming. I hope you enjoy it.
Interesting review. I have only read her debut novel & was curious if this was in a similar style.
Thanks Nancy. I don’t think I’ve read her debut but I’ve read 3-4 and they are all crazy changeup near the end. I never know it’s coming and I love that twistyness.
Richard Armitage is a gem.
Yes I enjoy him.
I don’t normally do suspense, but this sounds super good. I also say… never trust a house with a name. LOL!
I shy away from psychological thrillers which have ambiguous endings. Feeney always seems to have a resolution which was unthinkable up until near the end. She stuns me every time.
I love suspenseful thrillers. Great review Anne!
Thanks Kimberly. Feeney does the shocking twists I can hardly believe.
This one is on my list. I’ve seen so many great reviews for it, now I’m even more excited.
Her books are very twisty and sometimes creepy.
