The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly  @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week, and showcase books and things we have received.

Don’t forget to look at my giveaways on the right sidebar.

Sunday,  I slept well again. I started doing blog visiting and emails.  We got a Hungryroot order.  Yes we are trying all the meal services. We tried the smoothie pack. Then there was one green chile chicken tamale.  I have never eaten one and it wasn’t too bad.  It has been raining all day.  Even though I have been a moody reader I still seem to have read a large number of really good books this year so far.

Monday,  I didn’t get going too early.  I had the usual emails and visiting. I got a start on answering comments.  We ate an early dinner to go to the Dem candidate forum.   It was a good session, seeing old friends and learning about the candidates in the primaries. I printed out a sample ballot for us when we got home.

Tuesday,  I felt good and like tackling things today.  The neighbor texted early though that she was taking Abbey to be put down as she is struggling so much.   My daughter and I, and Lulu went over to say good-bye.  Abbey has been a big part of our lives the last few years so it’s hard.  Next I got Lulu’s next appt set up in March.  I helped my daughter work on an insurance denial for her PT that came.  I sent instructions to the bank to wire the payment for my Long Term Care insurance.  I organized all my notes for bill paying later in the week. I called one of the poll greeters tomorrow to see if she would switch shifts, and she would.  I created some posts and reorganized things over the next couple weeks. I called about a medical bill which I cleared that insurance would pay, and it looks like they didn’t even send it to insurance.    We walked Lulu, and I got to pet Clover and Maggie as they were in their yard.  I didn’t have any treats with me today. Sad.   I did some more financial paperwork.  We watched some women’s figure skating after dinner. Then I finally got some reading done.

Wednesday,  I got going a little faster since we have poll greeting. We arrived early and handed out Democratic information on the candidates. My daughter is a natural; she said it’s like selling Girl Scout cookies. We’re outside; we wait for people, although they are generally more excited about cookies than pamphlets!  It was very windy.  Everyone was pretty friendly.  The neighbor, my daughter and I all took turns voting. I managed to finish my book and review for tomorrow – yay!

Thursday,  today is going quickly.  I’m working on it all – visiting, commenting, writing reviews, etc. I did a bunch of different cleaning chores, changed filters in the air cleaner, paid bills.  I set up the posts for a couple new eARCs. We walked Lulu in the warm but cloudy weather around 70F/ 21C. My daughter went to play games with the neighbor at the Beerded Lady (local bar). I watched the women’s free skate.

Friday,  I woke at 4am and couldn’t go back to sleep.  I am feeling more like myself this week.  This is the last day for antibiotics. I setup, scheduled and edited some posts.   Another cloudy warm day. We walked Lulu. We saw Clover and Maggie out on a walk and I had treats for them!   I spent an hour on the phone between Humana about nutrition therapy (they say the CPT code is 100% covered , no copay)  and the doctor office who can’t figure out how to file the claim so decided to mark it as self pay instead of insurance. I gave them the 800 number for providers to get help.  Sigh. I talked to my ex and we planned his next visit at the end of March.  I finished my book and wrote my review for tomorrow. I made some hotel reservations for our trip to Iowa for my Mom’s funeral in June. We made another Hungryroot meal and it was delicious.   I did more cleaning and laundry.

Saturday,  I didn’t  get going fast enough. I looked at more hotel options. We walked Lulu. I had a neighbor who needed to borrow a knitting needle and stopped by. I edited my daughter’s paper.  Another neighbor came over to get boxes which I have plenty.  I need to get ready for the window guys on Wednesday.  I also need to plan the garden.  We also might do a spring break trip so I have that to organize. While finishing an audio book, I sorted out all the fabric I had out on my 2 sewing tables. Tomorrow I hope to package fabrics for projects together in big ziplocs.

It’s a very busy week ahead with poll greeting and the window installations. We also have our precinct annual meeting.  My daughter has 2 doctor appts but luckily they are telehealth. Happy Birthday to Sophia on Saturday!

I did not get to any setup for Blogger resources and probably won’t until after next Wednesday.   I started but I haven’t got it ready for primetime.

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by  Reading Reality.  These are the exciting ARCs I received this week (If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry):

All my thanks to Macmillan Audio,   William Morrow,  Berkley.

(If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry)

I picked my Amazon First Read for February.

Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.

I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT  they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.

I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.

  1. Sweet Lulu💜 I’m so sorry about Abbey. It’s sad for everyone and I enjoyed reading about her here.

I got Final Target too! Gonna have a hard time waiting to listen to it. Kudos to you for working the polls. We’re voting tomorrow.

    Have a wonderful week!

  2. I am sorry about Abbey. 🙁 That’s always hard.
Glad the antibiotics are done with and you’re feeling better. That’s cool that you two hand out the pamphlets together. It warmed up here a little too but we’re having a blizzard tonight into tomorrow. I am looking forward to spring. Enjoy your week.

  3. Oh no, sorry to hear about Abbey. It is so hard to make the decision, but at that point, it is probably keeping them more for ourselves. I know my breeder friend had one of hers that was 18 and a half years old that she was watching this past week and she said she thought it was going to be time, and the owners decided it was. My little Dora seems more fragile every day and I worry about her. Looks like you got a Nancy Drew book for a freebie! Oh the days I used to read those! Hope you have a good week.

  4. It’s frustrating that your doctor’s office can’t figure out how to submit a claim. Maybe they need to get more competent help. Sooo sad about Abbey! My heart goes out to you and the owner. I hate it when our pets start aging because I know the pain and grief of losing them!

I didn’t realize Karen Rose had a new release in August as well. I’ll keep my eye out for it! I have the new Nora Roberts but I haven’t downloaded it yet. I’ll have to request the audio.

  5. Trying new meals is the best! We really enjoy the variety with HelloFresh; we always try to snag one new recipe each week. Ugh, paperwork and bills—never fun, but they have to get done! So saddened to hear about Abbey; losing a pet you know is always so tough. I’m happy to hear you’re on the mend, and that’s quite a haul you’ve got there! Happy reading and have a great week!

  6. A super busy week for you, but sounds like you got quite a bit fit in even if there were a couple late starts. I’m glad the dental issue is still doing good. Sorry you had to say goodbye to Abbey dog, always tough. Hopefully, your trip planning works out. How odd you had to help the doctor’s office figure out how to use Humana. Thanks for the b-day wishes!
I snagged that Nancy Drew, too. Fun memories.

    Have a good week, Anne!

  7. So sorry about poor Abbey – I’m sure you will all miss her. As for you having to help your Dr’s surgery file a claim – really??? It seems as though last week was a nest of all sorts of chores – I hope this coming week is an easier one.

  8. Oh that’s so sad about Abbey! I feel like we all knew her through you.

Mmm you mentioning green chile chicken tamale made me get a craving for green corn tamales!

  9. I’m glad you’re feeling better! Insurance is so frustrating. I’m glad I don’t have to mess with it in Albania. As a resident, I can see a doctor or go to the ER free of charge. (Actually, they are pretty good about treating tourists for free too.) Or I can afford to pay out of pocket at a private clinic. I do have catastrophic insurance which is good in most countries except the U.S. But it has a high deductible and is just for emergencies.
