The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week, and showcase books and things we have received.
Don’t forget to look at my giveaways on the right sidebar. Read-along giveaway ends tonight!
Sunday, I lazed a bit this morning. The weather is lovely. I tried to do
my visiting and emails but was kind of slow. I noticed that Jetpack is only posting the posts where I am the author and not the ones of others. So I set those up to post to Facebook through FS Poster instead. It’s like I need a backup or fail safe for everything. Our Hungryroot order came and I had that to put away. I prepped a bit for dinner and making a batch of Lulu food. The Read-along chat was fun and we had a few who I’ve been missing the last few times. After the chat, we walked Lulu. Then I went out to plant romaine and buttercrunch lettuce plants, Swiss chard, and spinach. When I came in I did a bit more commenting and was backup to my daughter as she paid for her two new classes and got the books: Cost Accounting and Business Law.
Monday, the usual chores and cleaning happened. Then I dealt with emails and wrote 2 reviews. Feedly is being weird but I have a workaround for now. I did my blog visiting. Today is chilly, but we walked Lulu. I spent some time getting a couple ARCs and setting up posts for them. Then I looked into Lawn Care service for weeds since I give up as what I am doing is not working.
Tuesday, I did not get a fast start on things today. Feedly finally got back on track today. I am still behind and have not done my Sunday visiting. After lunch, we went to Poll Greeting for Election Day. It was not very busy but maybe after work hours it will pick up. I started out with 3 layers but it warmed up quite a lot. After a short break at home, we walked Lulu. We got to pet Clover and Maggie but I didn’t have any treats with me. I finally visited Sunday posts and then responded to a bunch of comments. Finally.
Wednesday, I did the usual stuff. I had my nutrition appointment. We walked Lulu.
Thursday, I read a bunch of my ebook this morning. Then I did the usual visiting, emails, downloading new approved ARCs and setting up posts for them. I made a ton of phone calls about my daughter’s current Rx refills. Some need prior authorizations, some need coupons, etc. I also finally talked to my usual dirt guy. He’s been sick. He’s going out of the business – I mean he is 83. He referred me to another guy and I’ve got my delivery set up for Saturday. I also talked to one of the “turf management” companies to ask some questions and then set up service. We walked Lulu and it was plenty warm. My daughter is going to game night with the neighbor. So I will finally finish the book that I am enjoying, but is long.
Friday, I did a bit of the usual visiting and emails before we left for my daughter’s PT appt. The she wanted to go to the Scrap Exchange which is like a thrift store for craft supplies of all sorts. Next door they also have Scrap Thrift which is more traditional with clothes, housewares, books, jewelry, etc. My daughter got a couple of jewelry pieces and I got a shirt. Then we ate lunch at Luna’s getting arepas which were yummy. On the way home, we picked up a BJs order. Then we walked Lulu.
Saturday, I had to get going because my composted soil was coming between 10-11. Well he came about 9am so I had to scramble, as I was lollygagging. Now I need to get my computer stuff done to get out and work in the yard. I reviewed options for my couple open slots. I went hog wild with ARCs and then I got sucked into one of my current audio listens while setting up new posts for the new ARCs. I wrote a couple reviews. We trimmed Lulu’s hair and nails. Then we walked her. It felt hot and I was tired. So we drank Gatorades when we came inside. This week I need to work on taxes a bit, and I want to finish up a few smaller craft projects.

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Reading Reality. These are the exciting ARCs I received this week (If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry):
So thankful to Simon & Schuster Audio, Bramble / Tor, Brilliance Audio (4) .

(If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry)
None.

Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.

I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.

I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.

Sweet Lulu💜
I’m excited about that Alice Hoffman book even though I’m aware there are sad parts. Enjoy everything, Anne!
yes I was listening to it with my daughter in the car and we were crying.
You sound busy as usual! I’m lagging today because of the time change. I think I am going to do everything on the old schedule and deal with it tomorrow, lol. I have to walk Badger in the morning before work (since my husband is still gone) but I refuse to walk in the dark, so I’m not sure how that will work. Have a good week, Anne😁
Thanks Tammy. I will just continue to do things on the old schedule too – which is no schedule. I may be tired but today will be a big yard work day.
Sounds like a busy week! The chat was fun! I’m loving this series the farther we go. That new Katherine Center book looks interesting I’ll have to check it out. Hope you have a good week!
Thanks Lisa. That Katherine Center was a surprise release and it’s short, less than 2 hours. I don’t think the next few weeks will get less busy.
It sounds like you had a productive and lovely week! It’s great that you were able to get some gardening done—the lettuce and spinach sounds like a wonderful start. Lulu looks absolutely adorable and happy as ever. You also managed to snag some fantastic-looking audiobooks for your haul!
I hope you have a wonderful week ahead with plenty of time for reading.
Thank you Angela. I’m full of projects right now but at least I have some energy for them. I did get some help for the yard stuff.
Always good to get some help.
The weather must be warming up if you are planting already.
I’m really hoping an Australian publisher will offer Jeanine Frost’s book on Netgalley.
Good luck with finishing your craft projects and taxes.
Wishing you a great reading week
Thank you. I will need good luck if I want to get to any of that fun stuff!
Sounds like a busy week! I wish there was a Scrap Thrift near me, but alas, there’s not. (And I don’t need any more craft supplies anyway; I need to downsize them!)
The Scrap thrift was interesting but I have a much better selection myself already. lol
Tor doesn’t like me. First I wasn’t approved for Ilona Andrews and then Jeaniene Frost. Oh well. The weather this past week was horrible. We had two winter storms, bringing snow, sleet, and freezing rain. Now today it’s 55, so hopefully some of that snow will start melting. I fear where the plows have pushed the snow won’t be gone until the end of April. My daughter is home for break. Tomorrow we are going into Boston for a doctor check up and then going to the art museum.
I usually get stuff from Tor and even Martha Wells so I don’t know what happened. It’s like summer here but by next week we will have an artic blast for St. Patrick’s Day.
I’m a big fan of feedly too but I haven’t had any issues – now I’m worried that they’re coming! Have a great week Anne.
Well it was very short lived only about 2-3 days.
Sounds like another busy week for you. Your books look so good. I really need to read Katherine Center’s books. Every one I see looks so good. Hope you have a great week!
Thank you Yvonne. I’m excited for some of these new reads, and the Katherine Center on is shorter, only about 2 hours.
Scrap Exchange sounds like a lot of fun and what a great idea! I’ve been feeling the urge to go thrifting lately. It’s been far too long. Webb is an author I’d really like to read. Her books look like ones I’d enjoy. Have a great week!
Thank you Katherine. Scrap Exchange is a great idea; I just have a larger selection than they have already. lol And since I’m picky about fibers too much of the yarn or fabric isn’t labeled which is hard for me. We do like thrifting for some other items though. I’ve enjoyed some Debra Webb series but I’m not sold on the one above that I’m currently reading yet. I’m halfway now.
You remind me with mentions of setting up your posts and review arcs that I need to plug some of my finished stuff in for you. Love that you got out on walks, got lots of chores and errands run, and had some good times to read. Sounded like a lovely, productive week. Yay for getting in your spring lettuce and load of gardening soil.
Have a good week, Anne!
Thank you Sophia. I hope sometime this week to set up your April posts But it’s been so busy and we are out and about a lot Tues – Wed.
Oof, Jetpack can be such a pain. For me it only sends emails for posts that I post manually, not for scheduled posts. Glad you got something figured out at least!
Thanks Nicky. If I can figure out how things actually work I can make the workarounds I need.
I got rejected for that Katherine Center novella but was approved for her full length novel, The Shippers. Two different publishers. I think the the novella might become available on KU. I had fun on the chat. Not sure I’ll be able to make the next one because we’ll be in Texas. You’ve had some nice weather! We’re having good weather here, too but it’s supposed to cool down again in a couple of weeks. We’ll see.
yes it is a different publisher for the KC novella. It will be in KU I’m pretty certain. Well I always hope you can make the chat but I understand. You’re the reviewer for this one.
Ughhhhhh I forgot about taxes!!! I want to get them done early this year. The past two years I was biting my nails on the last day waiting for a response from the H&R Block lady.
Scrap Exchange and Scrap Thrift sound like fun places to browse around!
Thanks Jinjer. I hope to get a good start this week on the taxes. We will see.
The Scrap Exchange sounds amazing! I’m trying to find someone to do my Albanian taxes. They are due by March 31st.
Good luck with finding a good tax accountant. I have a degree in accounting. So I’ve always done my own taxes although tax was not my job. Mostly mine hasn’t been too complex.
I have an accounting degree too! I do my own US taxes, but not being fluent in Albanian, I need help.
We really have a lot in common Olivia!
We do!
Nice pick ups!!!
