The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly  @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week, and showcase books and things we have received.

Don’t forget to look at my giveaways on the right sidebar. Don’t forget the Read-along chat today!

Sunday, I was up a little late after the concert so I didn’t get going quickly this morning. The concert was good, mostly 60s rock which I recognized but not the most familiar to me. I was surprised I knew the words to some of the songs as they were mostly all released before I was born or quite young. My daughter and her dad went to the Natural History museum in downtown Raleigh.  I took Lulu for a walk.  Otherwise, Lulu is sitting by the front door looking out. I knitted while I listened to my audiobook. My ex is fighting a head cold and went straight to bed after they returned.  Apparently after I went to bed, they put up the fake Christmas tree he got for us. My daughter has been wanting one for a few years now.

Monday, I woke early so I read a bit of my ebook since I haven’t been reading at night much. The pollening seems to be happening. My ex slept very late.  My daughter and I walked Lulu.  Although the temperature was cooler and the wind shifted around from the north, it was hotter because of the sun. Yesterday was cloudy.  I did the usual stuff and also finished a book and wrote a review.  The iris are blooming.

Tuesday,  I started in on the usual tasks of emails, visiting, setting up posts.  How did I end up with three `500 page or 20 hour audiobooks for review next week?   They are all authors I really enjoy. My daughter accidentally read next week’s homework instead of this week.  My ex is starting to get organized for projects now but still not feeling great.

Wednesday,  chilly this morning but I didn’t turn on the heat.  I’ve done the usual stuff.  I was trying to finish up the post for the Read-along but the blog was having some blips. I mowed the lawn while my daughter walked with Lulu. The mower blade fell off so it was a good thing my ex was here to fix it up.  It was the first time I used it  since I had the blade sharpened at the end of last year. At bedtime, I was reading and then it was too hot. My ex had manually put it on and fell asleep so the house was burning up at 3am.

Thursday, I was going to get up at 8:30 but my body had other ideas and wanted 7 hours of sleep. I started made French toast and made more fresh orange juice.  I did some of the usual visiting, emails, etc.  Then I helped my daughter with editing her paper for school. We walked Lulu and the weather is lovely. I moved my indoor plants onto tv trays so we can varnish the plant shelves.

Friday, I posted a couple items on the local Buy Nothing group and had someone want them right away.  I need to post more of my stuff! My ex still felt poorly and slept most of the day. I worked the usual blog stuff and then finished up an audiobook while working on the sweater for Sophie.

Saturday,  I woke up not feeling great. I hope I am not catching the cold from the ex.  My daughter told me she went through 2 more drawers in her dresser and 2 totes under her bed. She found more clothes to wear and some to give away.  It was 86F/ 30C and today is 55F / 13C. This afternoon is the neighborhood Spring Fling. They will have Easter Egg hunts for the littles.  Vendors will have booths with various goods like homemade cards, baked goods, flowers. There will be a food truck.  The neighbor, my daughter, Lulu and I walked over at 2pm. I chatted for quite awhile with the neighbor who makes cards and used to own a knitting store in the 1980s.  The neighbor bought some sourdough bread.  Lulu got lots of pets.  I gave liver treats to the new dog friends. At home I alternately read and napped in my office chair.  My ex is out doing some yard work.

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by  Reading Reality.  These are the exciting ARCs I received this week (If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry):

Many thanks to Macmillan Audio,

(If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry)

Book cover for Echo of Worlds by M. R. Carey

I picked my Amazon First Read.  I also purchased the next in a series from Chirp for $4.

Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.

I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT  they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.

I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.

  1. I’m looking forward to giving This Kingdom Will Not Kill Me a try — it sounds like it has a lot in common with some other books I love like The Scum Villain’s Self-Saving System but adds a little twist, which is fun, and I do love Ilona Andrews’ work generally. Hope you enjoy!

    Also, hope you’re feeling better!

  2. Glad you’re feeling better, Anne. What a shame your ex was so poorly during his visit – I know he usually pitches in with the chores while he’s with you, as well as spending time with your daughter. And that flower is GORGEOUS! Have a great week:)).

  3. Your poor ex, I empathize since I had a cold all last week. Glad you got some time to hit your reviews and books. Wow three big chunky ones in a row to read. LOL, I’ve done that before. Your temps sure are all over the place. Neato, you scored an audio of the Ilona Andrews’ book.

Hope you have a good week, Anne!

  4. I hope you are feeling better!

And this neighbor “the neighbor who makes cards and used to own a knitting store in the 1980s” sounds delightful and like a character in a cozy mystery!!
