The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly  @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week, and showcase books and things we have received.

Don’t forget to look at my giveaways on the right sidebar.  Read-along giveaway ends tonight!

Sunday,  well we got some rain which we needed. It’s cool and cloudy. It was almost 90F yesterday and it’s 65F today.  I didn’t get up early.  I did the visiting and emails.   My daughter and I have planned our birthday gifts for the neighbor since her birthday is the week after this one. More emails with my brother, the pastor, the funeral home and me.   We had the fun chat for the Read-along with discussion about how all the series fit together more. I got an order from Walmart but they were out of my protein yogurts so I’ll deal with that tomorrow. Then we walked Lulu.  We also trimmed some of her hair and nails   Now I’m writing a review.  Then I’m making Lulu food with some leftovers for us for dinner. We finished The Closer.

Monday, I was on track with laundry and packing, and chores. I pulled weeds and mowed half of the lawn while my daughter had a medical appt. Then she mowed the rest while I showered. The cleaners came to do her bathrooms, so we walked Lulu. Then a quick trip to Food Lion and Aldi for specific items.  We ate other leftovers today for lunch and dinner.   I packed more drinks into the car. My daughter used the dustbuster  to clean it up a bit.  I took out almost all the grocery bags.

Tuesday, I got busy packing more things, decided we need raincoats.  I packed an air purifier for the room and masks. I ate leftover pizza for breakfast. I went to do computer tasks and pack it up.  We drove to Asheboro and checked into our hotel.  Sadly they are repairing the indoor pool.   We went to a very late lunch at Taco Loco and it was excellent.  My daughter got some earrings a a flea market store across the street.  We went back to the room for a bit.  Then we walked Lulu at a park and picked up a pizza and Cookout shakes for dinner.

Wednesday,   we got up about 8 and I hurried to shower, dress and get Lulu out.  My daughter go up and checked out the breakfast getting a yogurt and apple juice.  I took Lulu back to the room.  I go some oatmeal and asked at the desk after the gluten free muffins.  Now after a little computer time we are going to walk Lulu and then go to the zoo. We took Lulu out to a little trail by the Pisgah Covered Bridge and she loved it.  We dropped her at the hotel and we went to the NC Zoo.  We walked all of it.  It was mostly cloudy until the end.  And my car charged up at their free EV charging.  We bought a couple T-shirts.  On the way back we got lemonades at Wendy’s and I got a new charging cable at CVS. I needed one for my phone but also one for my earbuds.  My earbuds I have along have 2 different types of charging cable needed.  We got pad thai takeout for dinner.

Thursday,  we have been through the entire zoo so my daughter wanted to look around some thrift stores today.  I went over to the Dollar Tree to buy Lulu some toys. Then we went to the thrift stores.  My daughter found lots of jewelry and a couple purses. We ate sandwiches at a bakery. Then we went back and took Lulu for our walk on a trail.   After that we relaxed in the room. I setup up posts for the new ARC.   We had so many leftovers we didn’t go out to dinner.

Friday, we packed up and went to another dog friendly cafe for breakfast sandwiches. Unfortunately the line was long and we ended up having to order from the lunch menu.  We drove halfway back to Pittsboro and did a walk around Table Lake, then the rest of the way home.  We hauled in all our stuff, put things away, started the laundry, and now to computer tasks. My daughter is going with the neighbor to the big church game night. The neighbor has never been and we haven’t gone for months.

Saturday, I just lollygagged in the morning.  It felt good to sleep in my own bed. I did my blog visits, and emails. I ordered food for pickup tomorrow. We walked Lulu.

April Reading:

I managed to read 15 books. Audiobooks continue to help me read more. Some count for more than one challenge.

  • 11 Audiobooks
  • 4 Library books
  • 15 COYER
  • 2 Books I Own

All Library books (including ones not reviewed on the blog)  2026 Library Love Challenge

I did manage to read 2 books I own (goal is 3 per month):

  • 🎧 A Whisker of Suspicion by KT Lee
  • Lost and Found by Amy Shojai

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by  Reading Reality.  These are the exciting ARCs I received this week (If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry):

My grateful thanks to Crooked Lane Books, Minotaur Books, Carina Press, Penguin Audio, Brilliance  Audio.

(If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry)

Picked my Amazon First Reads for April.

Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.

Chirp Friday freebies:

I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT  they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.

I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.

  1. For as much as we love to go on vacation, we never sleep better than into our own bed Anne!

  2. It sounds like an enjoyable trip – though I do always enjoy returning home. Apart from anything else, being vegetatarian means meals can be a bit of a lottery when we’re away. How lovely that you could take Lulu along. Have a great week, Anne:).

  3. Lulu is adorable as always! Looks like a nice little trip! The Discussion was fun last weekend! I probably won’t be able to make the one this month as we’ll be in Branson that weekend and I have no idea when family stuff takes place as it’s kind of whenever we feel like getting up and going to do things. Have a good week!

  4. I was sorry to miss the chat, but hope to attend it this month. I’ll catch up with the audios. I’m getting back on track now, thank goodness! Your peonies are gorgeous! Sounds like a nice trip! I love that covered bridge!

  5. Sounded like a fun getaway trip. I love going to the zoo and your pretty paths and thrift shop hunts sound great, too. Glad you could go recharge. Nice haul of reviews and other books.

    Have a good week, Anne!

  6. Hi Anne! It’s been a long time but I’m glad to see you’re still active. 🙂 I’m slowly getting back to blogging… I’ve missed it.
Guild Codex is the read-along this year?! I LOVE that series/those series so much! Spellbound is still my fav of the bunch but I’m excited for the last Warped book later this month and gutted that it brings the GC world to a close.

  7. I’m so bummed I keep missing the chat. My Sundays have been so busy. Hopefully someday I’ll be back. Sounds like you had a nice getaway. Last week was my first week back and I was so busy trying to catch up, plus I was tired from all of the peopling and such. This week should be a little more low-key until I move my daughter home from college on Friday.
