I was recently making a list of favorite series in the romantic suspense genre for a friend. I couldn’t even get to five series; I listed three. Since it is one of my favorite genres, I was surprised how few series made my list. There are many to read but not the quality of this Troubleshooters series. These are top notch with a great blend of romance and action and mystery. I appreciate the fact some of them are personally based and some are based on the team’s missions, not all one thing or the other.
Some Kind of Hero is more personally based. Peter has just got his daughter into his life and now she’s missing. His neighbor, Shayla, is there at the right time. She is too kind and compassionate to let him face this alone. Since Shayla has two teens of her own, she knows a thing or two. I enjoyed the smart way things were handled and how they figured things out. I was right there worrying and trying to find her. The support group was there but one could read this without reading the series. However, it’s so good, why would you not read it all in order?
The story took me on an emotional ride, but in a good way. These people are competent. Their emotions and reactions felt authentic. The romance happened naturally, along with the mystery and action. It’s great to see a bit of old friends from earlier books. Despite the truly nasty bad guys, our team prevails in the end. If you like romantic suspense, these are definitely ones to read!

I read all types of books but my favorites are urban fantasy and romantic suspense.I like some romance and some action / adventure / mystery in everything.I like sex in my books but please, only between TWO people.Intimate conversation is equally important to the sex in a book.It lets me see the characters.The other thing I enjoy is humor.
