The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly  @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week, and showcase books and things we have received.

Don’t forget to look at my giveaways on the right sidebar.

Sunday I got going pretty well after my doom-scrolling about Ukraine.  I did the usual blog visiting.  I enjoyed the FB chat for the Read-along.  Lulu reminded me it was time for her walk at 4pm.  We took the long route by the swans.  I have SO much I want to do today!   I need to do some planning for my daughter’s college summer/fall schedule.  The catalog comes out Wednesday.  I enjoy the planning and research and it just gives her anxiety. I also need to figure out some series I want to read this year.

Monday, well I started out doing normal stuff and looking at my plans for reading. But that all went south when the printer got an error message. It has been having a few issues with printing the colors a bit off.  Now it just says Printer Failure.  I love my printer.  I tried new cartridges.  I took out the printhead and tried to clean it.  Nope.  I can order a new printhead but it’s almost $200 and may not fix the problem.  I found a used printer on ebay for $149 which I bought with tax and shipping for $207 but it won’t be here until Friday at the earliest.  I tried to find service locally to try to find out if it is the printer circuity or the printhead. No luck.  Lulu was whining to go for her walk, right at 4pm. She’s too smart.  Then I thought to look on Facebook marketplace.  There were 3 people selling my model locally, after an hour of waiting one responded.  I ran right out to pick it up for $100.  They showed me it would print and copy.  I took it home, took out the printhead and put it in my printer and voila!  We have a working printer with a backup working printer body.  I sent a message to try to cancel the $207 purchase. We ate too late. I was too keyed up to read or sleep. I felt like somebody beat me up (mentally and physically).

Tuesday, my daughter must have gone to bed early because Lulu barked early.  I got going since I also had a Food Lion Instacart.  I’ll need to go to bed early after only 6 hours of sleep last night.  I got an email right away from ebay that the seller cancelled the order and refunded the money. Whew.  If they couldn’t, I wouldn’t have been horrified to keep it for parts.  A new printer with the features is like $900 plus I have expensive ink cartridges for it already.  I was actually certified on laser printer repair once upon a time but not HP and it’s been 20 years, also it was my least favorite thing. I’m much better with software.  My daughter was up early and we both walked Lulu.  When we got back I had book mail.

Wednesday,  the day is finally here!  The course catalog has released for my daughter’s summer and fall courses.  I love figuring out all the courses they are offering which might fit her requirements and then checking reviews about all the professors to determine the best fit.  Since she has a smaller number of classes left to take, it’s harder to know if other semesters will offer the classes or have better professors.  I wrote a review.  I want to read a mystery next but I’m waiting until April 10th for the Mystery RAT for COYER. The lilac bush started blooming today.  Lulu and I went to check on the swans on our walk and it was plenty warm today.  Well, I just wanted a mystery.  I read an entire book between 9pm and midnight.

Thursday, had scattered rain but we aren’t getting a lot during the day.  I’m busy doing laundry and computer stuff before our afternoon full of errands and appointments. It worked out better than I expected. I dropped my daughter off for her appt and then went to UPS, the post office and Aldi and was back in an hour.  We got home and I put things away,  moved laundry, cleaned out Lulu’s crate and took her for a walk.  My daughter talked to me about her classes over dinner.

Friday,  I called Blue Cross to learn about why one of my daughter’s medications is no longer covered. I talked to the doctor’s office about them writing a request for it. Then the GE appliance repair guy came for the third time to install a new seal on the freezer.  They’re good; the first time they tried to repair it which didn’t work. Then they came and determined they would need to order the part.  It took a couple months to get the part which was installed.  Luckily the second visit they also did more to repair it, which worked well enough it wasn’t frosting inside anymore.  Everything took too much time.  I managed to walk with Lulu and go pick up a couple of my daughter’s RX refills.

Saturday,  with my daughter going to bed earlier Lulu is getting me out earlier most days.  She just barks once.  So polite.  I’m usually awake just reading or doing my PT exercises.  I finally figured out a menu plan for the upcoming week.   I went out and mowed the lawn.  It was chilly enough to wear a sweatshirt and a jacket.  Then Lulu and I took the long route by the swans.  After a chilly night,  this upcoming week will warm up to the low 80s. The Mystery Read-athon for COYER starts tomorrow – yay! – I’ve been waiting.

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Reading Reality.  These are the exciting ARCs I received this week (If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry):

Thank you SO much to Penguin Audio,  and  Harlequin Audio.

(If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry)

I got an Audible daily deal for $3.95.

Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.

I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT  they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.

I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.

I’d be remiss on April 10th, if I didn’t wish a Happy Birthday to my favorite Charlie Hunnam!

  1. You are always so productive, I love it! 🙂
I really need to get out and start doing my garden but the weather just doesn’t want to keep it together. I miss having flowers and veggies growing!

I hope this week is awesome for you Anne! LOVE THE HEADER! Happy Reading! xx

  2. Looks like you have a full week Anne thanks for sharing. Ah I get hives when one of my tech items is showing wear or problems I’m tech challenged but not afraid of scoping out what I need to solve the problem. 2020 was an expensive tech year for me I needed a new iphone, a new ipad and a new laptop luckily I got them all refurbished and hopefully won’t need (fingers crossed) anything for a while. 🙂

  3. i can’t resist freebies either, that’s why i try not to look, but don’t do a very good job of it. lol sounds like a great week and things are working out well. you must have done something right and the printer gods are looking down on you. 🙂

  4. I love when the Lilacs bloom ( going to be a few more weeks before that happens here) I’m on the fence about Book Lovers because People We Meet on Vacation was a novel that could have been a short shorty. Go Hex Yourself looks fun. Hooray for Book Mail! Have a great week Anne!

  5. That is very stressful and tiring to me making arrangements when equipment or tech I am comfortable with and like bites the dust. So glad you found it cheap on ebay and could transfer the working part. Love seeing your blooms coming in. Funny how Lulu has the routine down to the minute. My cats get that way about their routine when I disturb it by doing something out of the ordinary. I always thought working on class schedules and pouring over class descriptions was fun, too.

    Have a good week, Anne!

  6. Lovely pictures as always. I love the flowers especially. 🙂 Dogs are so funny about their walks. They know what way and when they’re supposed to go. Lulu sounds like she’s a creature of habit, but that’s okay because I am too, lol. I hope you have fun registering your daughter for summer and fall. I did that this week. 🙂 I hope you have a good week and thanks for stopping by my blog.

PS: That’s so awesome that you have as many pictures as you do of you and Charlie. If that were me and Tom Hiddleston, I’d be elated, lol.

  7. I think Charlie Hunnam must be stalking you, I am so envious of how many times you have met him! Your flowers are so beautiful – you obviously have green fingers, as we say in the UK. I hope your daughter gets the courses and tutors she wants. Happy reading 😊

  8. I always enjoy your long posts so much!

That’s so great that a person close to you had the same model printer and you could get it for a decent price! And that you know how to swap out printheads. lol

My HP printer refused to fire up so I bought a cheap-o (less than $100) Canon. I only need it for printing out recipes so cheap is fine. It is a bit annoying because it doesn’t stay turned on and it can’t print doublesided unless you manually flip the paper lol and it’s really hard to get the paper lined up in the feeder, but, I got what I paid for so I can’t complain. Next time I will pay at least enough to get one that can stay on until I TELL IT to turn off. lol

  9. I think printers might be one of the most frustrating electronics. I think the network card on ours is on the blink and want to replace it but I also don’t want to deal with getting a new one set up and all. It’s funny what habits dogs develop. Mine knows when I put my air pods in that it’s time to go outside. It cracks me up. Have a great week!

  10. Jen

Whew! busy week. But sounds like a productive one. I also had a super busy and exciting week. I had my colonoscopy on Monday, my son selected his future school on Wednesday, and my daughter turned 16 on Friday! We went out to dinner both Friday and Saturday. It was a good week!

  11. Printers (and the parts) are EXPENSIVE. I’ve had similar problems but I’m glad you were able to find a solution/ That Crosby boxed set looks pretty good. Maybe I just like the idea of a thriller or mystery set in Florida. 🙂

Hope you have a great new week!

  12. I couldn’t get my printer to work after we moved. It seems to work on my husband’s computer though so I don’t get it. I just print stuff at work when I absolutely need to. I used to love figuring out my schedule when I was in college. My daughter is down to lone last semester of classes and then student teaching after this semester is over so there wasn’t much to decide on. Nice new reads this week! I love your photos. Have a great week!

  13. That’s too bad about the printer but so great that you were able to find a used one locally. And the ebay seller was willing to cancel the order and refund your money! Seeing you mention working on a menu plan reminds me that I never got around to that this past weekend. Oops. Guess I know what I’ll be doing this afternoon. 🙂 Hope your week is off to a great start, Anne!

  14. I bought a new printer a few years ago and it printed once. The store would not take it back since I had used it and would not look at it. lol I tried making it work over and over again but ended up giving it away to a family member who with some patience got it working. I was too fed up and it was too complicated. I never bought another one. I want one where I only have to push one button, once and it prints. lol I’m not good with technology.

  15. Thank goodness my husband deals with the tech issues so I don’t have to bother. Sounds like you worked out a great solution and didn’t spend a great amount of money. Bravo, Anne!

I’m looking forward to The Wrong Victim and Book Lovers, too.

Your pics with Charlie are wonderful! He’s a cutie.

    • Yes I enjoyed it more when my dad figured out everything but he’s been gone a long time so I had to step up my own learning. He was amazing and I just get by. But he’d be 109 now if he was alive as he was over 50 when I was born. I love my printer so I was thrilled to have it working the same day. I could pay less because I did the diagnosis and repair myself. That saves a lot. I’m listening to The Wrong Victim now and I already love it. I have so many great reading options. I’m a big fan of Charlie and he’s always been so kind to me.
