The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly  @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week, and showcase books and things we have received.

Don’t forget to look at my giveaways on the right sidebar.

Sunday, ugh I couldn’t get my Sunday post to trigger a post notification email. Now that taxes are done I have to get to work on the things that are broken like iTunes link to phone, ice maker in the fridge and the smoke alarms.  UGH.  I hate it when repair guys try to put their toolbox (which has been on the ground or floor of a car) on my kitchen counters where I prepare food. Actually, I just don’t enjoy having repair people in the house at all, although most have been decent about still wearing masks.  While I did my blog visiting, then wrote a review and did some post setups.  Lulu vomited a few times.  She did eat dinner though.

Monday,  Lulu seems better.  I had her nice washed bed ready for her.  She ate her breakfast and drank water. After some computer work, I got outside and mowed the whole lawn.  I was glad I managed it because then both batteries were dead and so I’ll have to do the trimmer and edger later.  I saw that our neighborhood pool will open May 5th.

Tuesday,  after my daughter did the walking gig, I took her over to pick up special tassels / collar for being in the honor society.  Then I went to Wegmans and did a Walmart pickup.  By the time I got everything put away it was already 5! Yikes.  I started a batch of food for Lulu by baking chicken thighs.

Wednesday,  for a day at home. Yay!  My ex will be here May 3 and the house projects will begin.  I found out my bathroom cabinets will also come May 3. I finally found the 2pack of faucets I wanted for the bathroom back in stock and ordered them.   I can’t wait until next Monday to finally find out how Lulu will be.

Thursday,  it’s a hot one, almost 90F today but it will cool down with some rain over the weekend and then 60-70s next week. My daughter had her chiro appt so I did an Amazon return, then we went to Harris Teeter to pick up her RX. We knew there was a sale on the salad dressing we like but there was also sales on Pepsi products, two kinds of ice cream we like, and my mochi.   I made a new recipe of crispy chicken sandwiches which we topped with lettuce from the garden and it was so good.  I adulted enough to file a warranty claim on the fridge for the icemaker problem and they will come out next Tuesday.  I also called the upholsterer who did all my family room furniture to see if she could do my outdoor stuff.  I’m going to her shop next week to show her the outdoor chair(s) and cushions from the swing that the squirrels ruined.

Friday, as usual lots I want to do, jamming in as much as I can.  I’m writing reviews, setting up posts. The ARCs really came available today.  I’m thrilled to be working on my May reading plan. There’s lots there with the Read-along, #SIAM, COYER Finish the Series RAT, and Book Club reads.  I gathered my energy and called Apple, got my first female support technician and she solved the problem!  It works!  I had to download iTunes from the Microsoft Store rather than the Apple website. Ugh  ok it sees my phone but says the Windows driver is missing. Another round of tech support will be needed, but this time with the folks who replaced the hard drive.

Saturday,  lots of planning for my May reading.  I juggled around some of my plans for Series on Saturday and Thrifty Thursday.   I ordered some fabric to make new cushions for the swing.  I can’t wait for the vet appt on Monday because I just want to know how Lulu is and what we need to do next.

Of course, I’m going to do Chapter 2 COYER.   It’s a great matchup with Thrifty Thursday since those books get the highest points!     I’m looking forward to seeing the game board to do some planning.  May is jam packed with new releases, #SIAM and the new COYER Chapter.   Here is the COYER announcement for Chapter 2, if you are interested.

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by  Reading Reality.  These are the exciting ARCs I received this week (If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry):

Thank you so much to Simon & Schuster Audio, Macmillan Audio,  William Morrow,  AceRoc Books, and Berkley.

(If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry)

NONE.

Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.

I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT  they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.

I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.

  1. So sorry that Lulu is poorly and I hope she recovers soon. I share your pain regarding repair teams in the house – apart from anything else, it generally means that something is broken, which I hate! I see you have the latest Kelley Armstrong – I haven’t read this series and need to catch up with her books. Have a great week, Anne:).

    • Thanks Shelleyrae. I hope it means Lulu can go walking again even if we have to stop stairs and jumping. iTunes is kind of a program with 2 apps and 3 purposes. iTunes runs on the computer to load and store music, books, and audiobooks. Music is the app which gets the music synced from the desktop. iBooks gets the books / audiobooks synced from the desktop and I use it for some of my review audios. iTunes is also used to backup the iphone.

  2. What a busy week and 90 degrees already for you! Your crispy chicken sandwich sounds like it hits the spot. Hopefully, Lulu’s appointment will do her well and get her back on track. Glad you found the right sink hardware for your bathroom project. Yay for getting caught up on your posts and book reading plans for May.

    Have a great week, Anne!

  3. Poor Lulu! I hope you get some solutions on Monday. Technical difficulties are so annoying. I hope you get all that sorted soon. Have a great week!

  4. Nobody here wears masks anymore, including repair people. The hospital just went mask optional too, I see. They were like the lone holdouts. I live in a pretty conservative area though and it’s like no one cares. Not to be political but it’s just a hotbed of anti vaccine, antio mask around here…

Anyway hope you’re having a nice weekend

  5. Sounds like a busy week. Good luck for the home projects. They are usually exciting, but also a bit nerve-wracking. Hope Lulu is better soon. Your crispy chicken sandwiches sound really good. I also have The True Love Experiment waiting for me. Hope you have a great week reading and good luck with everything that needs to get fixed.

  6. Can’t wait to read the new Christina Lauren book. I pre-ordered the audiobook with my Audible credit. Hope Lulu is getting better! Now that my stepdad has been in the hospital I’m going to have to start finding repairmen for things around my house. Not sure how to go about that and find reliable people, but that’s what I’ll have to do. Need a new sink and garbage disposal, get my gutters cleaned out, new back storm door, etc. Oh the joy of home ownership, lol. Hope you have a good week!

    • Thanks Lisa. Today we will see what the vet says. I’m starting to find some people to do things and some things I’ve learned to do myself. Currently I have a home warranty program which started at $500 a year and now up to $800 which is a warranty on all appliances, furnace etc. with a $100 payment for each appt. I got it when I bought the house in case things fell apart, particularly the furnaces were both old. The first year I did have replacement of the water heater and the next year the main floor HVAC. The upper floor HVAC is really old but it might be cheaper to replace it when it fails than pay for the warranty each year. This is the 4th time I’ve had a repair on the ice maker over the 4 years I’ve had the warranty and the fridge was brand new when I moved here.

  7. I’m very curious to hear what the Vet has to say about Lulu tomorrow and what the action plan is.

Repairmen…yuck. The plumbers got their grossness all over my counter, back splash, and brand new, shiny-white, outlet and switch.

  8. I hope that you enjoy The True Love Experiment as much as I did! I think it’s CL’s best! Have a great week.

  9. I hope you find out good news about Lulu! It’s no fun to have repairmen in the house, but at least you get things fixed. Hopefully…

I’m looking forward to True Love Experiment. I have an e-ARC. Nice that you got an audio.

  10. I’m not a big fan of having repairmen in my house either. I know it’s necessary sometimes but it’s just not my favorite thing. I hope you get good news about Lulu at the vet today!
