This is a new feature I developed where each month we will look at our favorite – the best – series in a genre or topic.
The topic here, by my definition, is a series with Jane Austen retellings. Sophia did the honors in picking these series as she is more knowledgeable than I will ever be on this topic and had many, many options. These are some of her favorites.
It’s a subset of the possibilities. Please share your favorites with me in the comments, also.
My favorite Jane Austen Retellings series are (in no particular order):

Rajes Jane Austen Mysteries Jane Austen’s Dragons
by Sonali Dev by Stephanie Barron by Maria Grace

Mr Darcy & Miss Tilney Conscience Jane Austen Variations
by Claudia Gray by Cat Gardiner by Alice McVeigh
What are your favorite series?

I love Austen retellings but I don’t think I’ve read one of these
I’ve read the entire Sonali Dev series. The Maria Grace book Pemberley was a freebie last week so I’ll try it sometime.
I’ve only recently encountered Maria Grace’s superb series, which I inhaled last week. Thank for your this excellent list! I have already got hold of Darcy by Alice McVeigh and will be sampling some of the others:)). How very timely!
This is all Sophia’s great work. I noticed the Pemberley book was available as a freebie when I was setting it up so I grabbed it to read.
I’m not an Austin-reader and honestly forget the plots of the stories so I never catch if they are a retelling unless super obvious like Dev’s series (which I really enjoyed). Sophia’s reviews help me catch a few here and there.
I’m pretty much in the same boat. I started Pemberley yesterday because it was a freebie and I’m loving it. But I don’t have any idea how it ties to the original stories other than some character names.
I’ve been a P&P kick this month. I’ve watched the Kiera P&P twice. And I read a couple of P&Ps
Sophia is the expert and these series are her top recommendations.
The only one I’ve read is one in the Stephanie Barron series which I enjoyed. I really want to read the Sonali Dev series but the others are new to me. I’ll have to research them.
The first Maria Grace book – Penberley is free and I’m working my way through the series by staying up until 4 am the last two nights because they are excellent. I highly recommend them and that you grab the free first book in the series.
I’m so glad to have a fellow fan of Maria Grace’s dragon books. 🙂
I’m binging them and don’t want to read anything else!
