The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly  @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week, and showcase books and things we have received.

Don’t forget to look at my giveaways on the right sidebar.

Sunday, and all 3 things I want to do on FS Poster are working!  I just have to adjust the autoshare to include my tags.  I never could have managed it without Ashley at Nosegraze though. Some of my socials will have duplicate posts until I get it sorted.  Everything today is late with the time change.  Inotherwords, I am just keeping the time and doing everything an hour later.  Lulu gets it.  It’s sunny and chilly with a north wind.  I did my usual Feedly visiting and Sunday posts.  I got the right URL to check when my Volt goes out of warranty which is February 15, 2025. BUT there is new coverage on the battery for my year, so the battery is covered until February 15, 2032!   So that gives me 7 extra years with the battery covered.    I wrote a couple reviews and created a featured image for a multi-book review.

Monday, I made minor adjustments to try to add tags to FS Poster.  I did my usual visiting. Then I went down the rabbit hole researching some restaurants for our short trip this week.  We are going to Richmond VA Thursday afternoon.  Friday we are going on to a Pet Expo and will see the Snow Dogs (from Michigan) which my daughter has watched their Youtube channel for about 12 years.  Saturday, I’m going to the Galaxy Comicon to see Charlie Hunnam.  I called the hotel to confirm that everything I thought was correct about our reservation. Then I reviewed all the gluten free options for food. Unfortunately we have 4 meals to eat and about 20 places we would like to try. We’ll do takeout and I discovered Virginia does takeout alcoholic beverage so I can get a margarita with my Mexican food!

Tuesday, Lulu woke me before the alarm and I was not able to go to sleep last night after reading past my bedtime. Sigh.  I tried on all my jeans to see which ones fit and which ones don’t.  Abby, Lulu and I took a nice walk as the weather is warming up today.  I wrote a review and looked at more options in FS Poster.   Then we took Lulu to the vet for her allergy shot, and picked up a few things at Aldi.   Now I’m trying to finish up a few more posts and setups. After dinner, I went to Harris Teeter to get snacks for the trip.

Wednesday,  another night of reading past my bedtime. I walked Abby and Lulu in the beautiful weather. I planned to mow the lawn but I might have to nap after only 4-5 hours sleep the last two nights. I cleaned out the car and got it set up. I ran around packing stuff and made a list.  I wrote a review.  I made another batch of Lulu’s food.  We ate up a bunch of leftovers for dinner. No nap.

Thursday,  lots of running around to get everything ready and get going.  We loaded up and we were only about a half hour late leaving.  The weather was gorgeous.  We stopped at the state line to eat our packed lunch.  Just before that we saw a huge semi fire on the other side of the road and it was backed up for miles.  When I started the car, I got a check engine light but it drove fine for the next hour to the hotel.  The hotel didn’t have our room type we reserved.   They settled us in a different room and then about an hour later said they had figured out how to give us the right type so we packed up again and moved. Then it was time to get dinner.  We went to a totally gluten free restaurant Tio Pablo and I could even get a margarita with takeout.  Lulu was so tired she was snoring while we were talking after dinner.

Friday, we didn’t have to get up too early.  We drove about 1.5 hours to a Venezuelan place that had arepas for lunch and man they were excellent!  Another half hour further and we were at the Pet Expo near Dulles in Chantilly VA.  It was just raining lightly when we got there and when we left. My daughter was very excited to see them.  It was a bit chaotic.  Lulu was overwhelmed and I have to say I felt that way after not being at an event for 5 years.  We wore our masks and only stayed a couple hours.  We picked up some takeout and I was too full from lunch to even eat until we drove the 2 hours back. Luckily, it stopped raining as we started our drive.

Saturday, another day, another convention.  I went to GalaxyCon.  It was rough to park, and I waited 1.5 to get in and nearly missed my Photo Op I purchased with Charlie.  I had to really hustle to get to the photo line and was the last one.  Sadly, the lighting makes me look horrible and like I have a bunch of chins which I don’t.  The sweater is one I hand knit about 15 years ago.  It’s a bit too big but the color and fabric are nice.  Some of the sweaters I have unraveled and reknit to be a bit smaller but not this one.   View Spoiler » The line looked very long to greet him so I just left. I was only there for maybe 30 minutes.  I picked up a pizza for my daughter to have for lunch on the way back. I had one piece and it was very good. The restaurant was growing basil all along their building.  I changed to flip flops and finally had a bit of computer time. It’s been rough the last few days to do stuff while traveling.   I’ve tweaked some things with FS Poster.  Threads seems to not have worked with it the last few days.   Oddly Mailpoet sent out an email today.  I never “unset” it up.  It just wasn’t working and now it sent an email today.*smh*

Things I Learned This Week:

OK  if I’m asking for help, I’m also going to share the cool things I learn. You may already know them but hopefully it will help someone.

So I’m still doing lots of playing around with FS Poster but I understand how it works and have it all set now.   It does 3 things. 1. It autoshares the posts to Facebook, Threads, Instagram, Mastodon and Twitter.  2.  I can direct share things like sales and deals  to any or all of those 5 accounts .  3.  It does a Revive Old Posts thing, randomly sharing an old post tagged #ICYMI  at 7 – 3-11   so 3 per day to Mastodon, Threads and Twitter.

The FS Poster issues were primarily getting the accounts connected, and an fix my host Ashley found (she wrote some code for them).   Now it’s just me understanding the finer points like getting a custom field shared and stuff but that is all stuff I can do. (The custom field is working and it was easy!)  The account setup is really important and not that hard.  But the other issue related to sharing in the background.  It shouldn’t have taken so long to figure out but I didn’t always have time to work on it and I did need Ashley to fix the one issue and set up Cron Jobs.  Anyone who wants to use FS Poster, I could now zero in on key points to help you handle it easily. A couple times I was ready to give up though.

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by  Reading Reality.  These are the exciting ARCs I received this week (If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry):

My grateful thanks to Penguin Audio,   Harper Audio.

None

Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.

I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT  they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.

I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.

  1. I am getting emails with your posts again, yay! I can cancel the updates from follow.it for your posts now. Whatever you did worked! I hate when I go get my picture taken like that and then I hate the way I look in the picture. Which always happens to me because I hate my smile. My cousin got to meet Charlie last weekend at our local Comic-Con, and she met Matthew Lillard who was about the only one I would really have liked to have gone to see. Looking forward to our WTZ chat today!

  2. Omg, all those technical stuff make me so nervous! I used to make fun of my parents when they didn’t know how to use tech, and now I’m at the stage where it’s hard for me to learn new tech too. Karma is catching up to me! Lol! I’m glad you and Ashley managed to work the kinks out!

  3. Yea for making it in time to the photo op! I know what you mean about the chin-issue.. That always happens to me in photos. Still, it’s great you got to say hello. And congrats on getting the FS Poster to work. I’ve given up on doing anything more than what I have. My blog (and my desire to expand my reach) is slowing fading away and I’m okay with that. If there comes an easy way to share, I will but it has to be simple. I had a busy weekend visiting my sister and niece and then hitting a musical in Boston.

  4. It looks like you guys had a great time!! What a fun adventure!! Snow Dogs and Charlie Hunnam! I have a few favorite actors I would pay for a photo op with as well – Jason Momoa would be the ultimate. Lol.

  5. I wish I had known you were up this way; maybe I could have met you somewhere! Sounds like you had a good trip, though. And way to go getting everything working with FS poster. I just do my cross-posting manually when I have time, which I realize isn’t the smartest or fastest way to do things. On the other hand, having seen what you’ve gone through to try and get FS Poster working for you, I’m a bit nervous to try it!

  6. Your trip was very hectic – I am always amazed at just how far you all have to travel in the car. We sit in our cars a long time, too – but that’s just because we get caught in a lot of traffic jams! Annoying about having to change your rooms, but at least they offered a discount because of it. And I’m impressed at the range and quality of gluten-free food you managed to find:)). Have a good week, Anne – preferably with some time to put your feet up and recover!

  7. Sounds like you had a busy week but what fun to see the sled dogs! I hope you’ve been enjoying your reading and are having a great week!

  8. Glad to hear you got your FS Poster working how you want it to with the help of Ashley. I hope you and your daughter had fun at the Pet Expo event even though it was a bit chaotic and overwhelming. Your pictures look great! I hope you have a good week!

  9. OMG you met Charlie!!!!! Did you die? I would’ve died.

Oh dear…Miss Lulu does not seem too sure about that BIG DOG at the pet expo. lol

Glad your car behaved itself despite the warning light.
