This is a new feature I developed where each month we will look at our favorite – the best – series in a genre or topic.
The topic here, by my definition, is a series with a setting in Texas. These are the ones which came to mind. I enjoyed some more than others. They are in a nice mix of genres.
Since I haven’t read everything, it’s a subset of the possibilities. I’m sure I am forgetting some great authors. There are also plenty of authors I have yet to read. Please share your favorites with me in the comments, also.

I read all types of books but my favorites are urban fantasy and romantic suspense.I like some romance and some action / adventure / mystery in everything.I like sex in my books but please, only between TWO people.Intimate conversation is equally important to the sex in a book.It lets me see the characters.The other thing I enjoy is humor.

Great picks! I’ve read all, but the Attica Locke.
oh the Attica Locke is a good one. There’s only 2 books I wish there were more. It’s about a black Texas Ranger and the racial issues.
The Lucy Kincaid series by Allison Brennan moved to Texas after book #7 and it ranks as my most favorite. I haven’t read any of the books in the poll.

I love Donna Grant’s Heart of Texas series! I’m new to Ilona Andrews. I just finished her Kate Daniels series and LOOOOVED it! I’ve got all of their other books on my TBR list. I have read Kari Lynn Dell’s Texas rodeo series and it’s pretty good. Thanks for sharing these series! My TBR list has grown!
Thanks. Elizabeth if you have not read Ilona Andrews Hidden Legacy you need to drop everything else and read it now. I love love love it. It has more romance than Kate Daniels. Of course, they are my favorite authors. But these are all good series to read. I like diverse genres more than most.
I love Hidden Legacy, but I haven’t read any of the other series.
I can’t argue with Ilona Andrews being the best. The others are all great depending on whether you like the other genres also.
Speaking of books taking place in Taxes. The other day I find a fantasy book with a dragon in it and it set in Texas. The Drastic Dragon of Drago Texas by Elizabeth Scarborough is what it called.
